OK, last night i received a PM message, to confirm that cars can only be bone stock...
Just to clear up any sort of confusion, there are NO limits to what you put on your car, as long as it doesn't break the 2.3 Power to weight ratio, and as long as you dont have NOS, a tuner or racing car.

Good luck with qualifying gents.

Ok, I sent you a PM saying I want to use a fully modded TVR 350C, if cars must be bone stock, I'll remove all mods.

Thanks,
George

LOL OK, you can tune a car as much as you like. that means wings, transmission, LSD, TCS, turbos, whatever you like, so long as when your car begins the championship, its not

1. Got a power-to-weight ratio lower than 2.3. Feel free to get as close as you want, muck around with weight ballasts, tuning, whatever you feel improves your chance of winning. Just dont let the power-to-weight ratio be lower than 2.3 when you get to that starting line!
2. Equipped with NOS.
3. A racing or tuner car.

Well, DUNDA recruited me, and as I read, this turns out to be a nice little show! 👍 (Speaking of which, DUNDA , how did you find me and decide to PM me about this..?)

I was a little curious if a DeLorean DMC12 is allowed... It's listed as a tuner car, but there really isn't anything special about it; it's just historically been rebuilt underneath another, reformed DeLorean. Better yet, the PWR to it fully tuned is 2.414. :) If you do say no to it, Dan, I do have a back-up car: My 1970 Dodge Charger R/T.

Team Name: Vicarious
Car Number: 0

When the qualifying taking place?
I sent you my time but you said it's to early. :(

P.S Me and live4speed agreed on the team name - George Speed.

OK sweet, I'll update the information ASAP. As for the DMC, I'll have to debate that one with DUNDA...so I'll get back to ya ASAP on that as well.
Qualifying times are being accepted now, and for the next five days, either PM it to me or DUNDA, or post it in this thread

Thanks
Danisfast

I have time, so here is my information.

Hoping we all have a great racing season!

I'll join this guy, if that's ok with him

No prob Leadslead#2, the qualifying is underway, cant wait to see you in action, great team BTW, a viper and a gto, thats going to be tough to beat.

Good luck

when the actual races start, will we be forced to race in cup races, to enforce tire wear? just a thought I had, cause, 30 laps on R5's seems, well, kinda odd...?
depending on the answer to that, I'll be adding a second car, but need to know before choosing.

no, i was just wondering if it would be in a race form, with tire wear. given your post, it is, and therefore, my questions are answered.
28 laps on autumn ring? I like it

car added to above post

Guess what people, we got 13 drivers on the grid, those os you who havnt confirmed your cars to please do so asap, or you will miss out on the debut race.

Thank you everyone for your support, but spread the word tell youre friends on GTP, and the link to your signature, we need 20 people before the warm-up races conclude.

Hey Dan...sorry to inconveniance you and all that, but....I switched back to my Charger. It's just somehow quicker. So...

Team: Vicarious
Team Captain: Jetboys427
Car #0: 1970 Dodge Charger R/T--DB: Jetboys427

No probs man, if you want, you can actually use BOTH cars...s'up to you.
Yes as DUNDA has requested, we would really like to see those car details guys!! So if you've not submitted any yet, theres no rush, but we need them before we can kick off the new championship!
Thanks,
Danisfast

PS Just wanna say thanks to you guys, for putting thread links in your signatures, and basically letting everyone know whats going on...Its been vital to helping this tourney get off the ground, and been quite possibly the difference between this, and the so many tourneys which have fallen at the first hurdle.
Special thanks go to DUNDA, for agreeing to do this with me and being the one to get a good portion of you guys out here! So thank you all, and once again, good luck to everyone this season.

Been quite busy lately.
Welcome aboard LeadSlead! Nice to have someone on my team.
I've finished tinkering with my Viper and I'm going to try and beat my used to be thought a fast lap until I saw these times! I've got some work to do.

LOL yeah me too!! thought my laps were quick...Great to see so many strong teams now...the constructors table will be very interesting to see indeed!!

I just wanted to let you know that TYRE WEAR WILL NOT play a part in this tournament, for the following reasons

1. We cannot drive fully modded cars in arcade mode.
2. Any type of practice in gt mode doesnt have tyre wear.

I sincerely apologise for the misinformation, it was just something that got mest up down the ladder.

Nope, I tried, what a shame, but theres alota thing pd have to sort out, or hopefully already sorted out with GT5.
All we can do is hope and prey that GT5 isnt just a better looking GT4, like GT4 really killed the split screen racing thing, "I just wish I could have the option to race with traction on"

(Post moved to the race thread.)

YEAH!!!! Cheers for the spot Mach 10!

Team: Slingshot Racing
Team Captain: Mach 10
Car #88: Mitsubishi Evolution VIII MR

Great to have you on board. 👍 I'm the slow guy of the team, but oh well. Hope the race goes great. :D

Since Tire wear isnt a factor, I've been forced to drop the lovely '62 Lotus Elan.

loved to join since i saw dan's initiative. but what cars to use ... hell on wheels to pick only 2 of so many beauties in this finest of gt4 range of cars. this was my longlist:

bmw m3 csl (1178-512-2.301)
honda hsc (1150-471-2.444)
audi le mans (1530-654-2.339)
jaguar xkr (1361-590-2.308)
evo tme (1071-464-2.306)
shelby s1 (1093-474-2.306)
nsx r concept (1079-467-2.310)
350z z33 (1122-486-2.309)
zonda 7.3 (1250-556-2.300 (after 29k ballast)

getting crazy out here. they are all fine cars. upside is that dan and joe are letting us swap cars during races. so this is my choice.

team: orange racing team
driver: bigracer
car # 5: bmw m3 csl: 1078k, 512hp, ptw 2.30078 after 1k ballast
car # 27: shelby series 1 super charged: 1093k, 474hp, ptw 2.306

i'll be off to france in august for 3 weeks but otherwise i'll be there every race.

btw if any of you would pick another candidate of my longlist: go ahead!

EDITed to change my car choice from audi to bmw.

Sweet Bigracer, thanks for the details and welcome to the championship. I'll add you to the grid.
But we've still not got alot of peoples car specs!!!!! We need them!! Also, it might be worth noting that we now have about sixteen cars on the start grid! Thats amazing guys. Thanks alot.

Need any more info from me or from the rest?

also, what about the qualifying stuff? do i at this time need to do more than produce decent times for autumn ring?

thanks sweet dan

to the same sweet dan: i did an oil change 'cos of power loss to the csl so the figures change slightly:
1177k, 524hp, 2.301 (after 29k ballast)

Yeah I was gonna ask you about you BMW cos the figures didn't quite add up. But that sounds a bit more like it. As for the figures, you're set. I only need to know the power, the weight, and to save me a bit of truoble, the ptw ratio. We wont bother with too many other details for now, but we might add a few other things as time goes on.
Finally, I'm afraid you're a bit late for qualifying for the Autumn ring warm-up race, but you're welcome to just jump in the back of the grid and have a crack anyway. We've got another warm-up race to go yet, so theres plenty of chance to get a qualifying time in for that, the track will be announced as soon as the autumn ring heats are over...which is tomorrow-ish.
All the best,
Danisfast

I will post mine tonight but one question I have is can I tune the car over time? I have 3 different specs for my car using different parts but they all make 2.3 so can I use different specs for different races?

Yes, you may alter the settings as you wish. The only thing you can't do is change your car (though you may change your car at specific 'intervals' indicated at the start of this thread). You can change the power and weight settings, but you've got to let us know before you do, so we can update it on our entrants list.
