definitely decided for a last minute car change. the beamer stays but the shelby goes.
it's going to be my much admired audi rs4 (1344/580/2.317). i'll post a laptime in the other thread.
sorry for the trouble dan and dunda, but i wanted a different kind of second car and the shelby was too close to the csl.

Yes, you may alter the settings as you wish. The only thing you can't do is change your car, you can change the power and weight settings, but you've got to let us know before you do, so we can update it on our entrants list.

Thanks,

I know I already entered my hurriedly cobbled together, terrible qualifying time but I've now managed to get into the high 1.10's since doing more work on the car. One more question I have is are people using N20 as this could lower my times considerably if its allowed?

Here is My Evo's specs: 1190kg, 515bhp, ptw 2.312

ill enter with my rx7 if a team wants to pick me up...

am i too late to join?

if not...

Team: Team Dave^
Captain: Dave^
Car: #6 | Subaru Imprezza 22B | 452bhp | 1079bhp | 2.389pwr

obviously i've missed the warm-up, but nevermind! lol

impactaway,
To answer your question, you are welcome to join any team you wish. Just choose the one you want, let me know, and I'll even PM the team captain for you. If he/she says its OK then you're in. I'll need the EXACT model you're planning to use, its BHP, Weight and PTW ratio.
Dave,
No, you're not too late. Welcome to the tournament, and thanks you for your car specs. We're just about to start qualifying for the last warm-up race before the season begins, so you've still got a chance to get a bit of practice in yet. It's at Circuit De La Sarthe 2(Apologies to all who think its De La Sarthe 1, thats my bad). So feel free to begin pumping in qualifying times right away!
zefff,
Thank you very much for your car specs, and no, I'm afraid N2O is NOT allowed at this stage. However, if there is a strong movement in favour of N2O, DUNDA and myself may take it into consideration.
Bigracer,
Righty-ho, no problem. I'll just add your new car, thanks for the specs.
I hope thats everyone covered, all the best,
Danisfast

N20, is that the same as NOS? i say no to that!

Danisfast
Righty-ho, I'll add your new car, thanks for the specs. But you should know you're qualifying time for the Autumn Ring race in your Shelby will be invalid for your Audi.
thanks for adding. and off course the shelby time is off. i pm'd dunda my rs4 time of 1.14.102 and hope he or you will change things.
now up to le mans for thrashing around the beamer. very happy its 2 not 1. the tarmac is still hot&dirty from the 24h of last week.
if you're looking for more participants you could persuade ferrari_chris to join up. he's a regular player from wrs who was interested to join.

as you all know PTW is the result from two factors: power and weight.
luckily in gt4 weight is a constant factor unless you do weight reduction.
but with power it's a different story. you can increase power by upgrading the car and changing the oil.
the program reduces the power based on wear&tear.
this means that our important ratio changes when you use your car of choice.
that means that when participating in dan's 2.3, you have to watch your hp figure all the time and make adjustments so that you stay as close to 2.3 as possible. which is what you want to compete as good as possible.
i'm doing that by reducing the ballast figure, swapping exhausts and reoiling now and then.
any thoughts on this subject, especially from dan and joe?

I'm doing the same thing, small adjustments here and there. I even have 4 totally different base specs for the one car which all make 2.3 but using different parts. I cant see a problem as long as it doesnt break the 2.3 barrier.

I driven really badly in qualification im like 14th :(, a new setting for me in round 2

hey people, just got some times on sarthe,

BMW M5 - 3'20.476
MAZDA RX7 - 3'25.806

lets see what you can do, but im sure the RX7 time can be improved

DUNDA
hey people, just got some times on sarthe,
BMW M5 - 3'20.476
MAZDA RX7 - 3'25.806
ok the battle has started.

aight i might have a crack at this, and if allowed i will use the following cars:

- Aston Martin DB9
- BMW M3 CSL

people aren't going to believe this but i also did a 3'20.476 in the DB9... :trouble:

Shockwaveracing,
OK, I'll add you to the grid. Welcome to the tourney. Yep, both those cars are fine. I'll need to know what team you wanna join, and what numbers you want on your cars. By July 2nd I'll also need to know what the weight, power and ptw ratio of your car is. Details on changing power and weight are detailed below.
As for constantly adjusting weight and changing exhausts etc. If it means your figures for power or weight are different, then please let us know by either posting it with your qualifying or race time by including it with your submission and the new figures. So no, it doesn't matter what you do, just let us know and obviously, dont break the 2.3 rule.
All the best and good luck with the final warn-up race,
Danisfast

rightio will get those details up in a jiffy... will have to think of a team name as well...

ok i am going to enter the BMW M3 CSL as part of DUNDA's race team

and i am entering the DB9 as my own little privateer team, that team will be called Menace Racing Team

DB9 specs: db9 = power/ weight : 654hp/ 1505kg

M3 CSL specs: power/weight : 524hp/1206kg

wont be super quick on the Le Sarthe II track but should be wicked quick elsewhere...

Racing Numbers:
#66 - Aston Martin DB9
#67 - BMW M3 CSL

hi andrew, very nice to have you on board, and in such a fine selection of cars. great to have a csl competitant, altho you 3.20 time in the aml gives me the creeps ... i am trying as i can but dont have sub 3.30 laps in view.
like to exchange settings with you if you're not afraid :dopey: as i am also talking to joe about his m5 setup.
see you around on gtp or thru msn.

LOL yeah thats not a bad time at all. OK shockwave, I'll add you accordingly.
All the best,
Danisfast

after using both my cars and talking to dunda i decided to join his team focussing on the beamer and saying goodbye (temporarily) to the wonderful audi rs4.
so orange racing team stopped even before it has begun.
joe already changed it in the reg thread. i hope dan will do the other churns.
thanks and have lots of fun in france, i know i am already. le mans is growing to be my favorite track of all times (competing with el capitan, maybe dan can program a 2.3 even over there)

LOL :( no more Orange team eh?? Thats sad...a bit like the Dutch national team being knocked out of the world cup actually...ah well...
Danisfast

A bit of a BMW thing going on here in'it??

well Orange thought well and decided what would be best for 2.3, most fun and also time-efficient.
about the football thing ... well i don't like football at all but being a real dutchman i was disappointed they dropped out so soon.
still, the beamer is such fun and cooperating with joe and andrew in the team also (we're sharing settings in msn already ...) that the choice was easily made.

Nice, sounds like you lot are gonna be the main contenders...gotta sort that one out...get some mega times in on Circuit de la Sarthe...

YOUR TIME IS UP!!! NO MORE TEAM SWITCHING!!! WE ARE LOCKING IN THE TEAMS!! IF YOUR DETAILS ARE NOT IN, WE WONT ACCEPT ANY OF YOUR TIMES FROM NOW ON UNTIL YOU SUBMIT THEM!!! YOU MAY STILL JOIN THE TOURNAMENT AT ANY POINT!

Updated the interest thread!!! Check it out!!!

Can I join, mybe I can team up with m.piedgros:).

i'd say you are more than welcome to join.
this piedgros has enlisted but not confirmed with car details.
so you might want to join dan himself in his team with your car of choice.
if you pm him with car details (car, hp, weight, ptw) you can get started.

Yes, indeed you are most welcome Angelcreator. Season begins in two days time, so by then we'll need to have confirmed all the details for the championship. Please visit the 2.3 registration thread, fill in the form and PM it to either DUNDA or myself. As for m.piedgros, he has yet to fill in his details, so I'm afraid you wont be able to join his team until he does, alternatively, you can PM him to let him know that you're interested in joining, and that you'd like to take over the team captain's role whereby you may choose a team name and enable yourself for competition.
All the best and welcome to the 2.3 Sports Car Championship!

i don't understand the impact of the le mans rounds we have been running and submitting (well, dunda and i did so anyway). any points to be gained from that? i was quite content with the results, both with the q's (3.33) and the 3- and 6 lappers.
also i would like to say that multilappers should not be abandonned from the tournament all the way. i really enjoyed taking my csl around for more than one lap.
looking at the race calendar i was wondering how long the tournament will last. now it only speaks of 6+1 but probably more will follow. yes?

xcuses for being so ignorant but that's just what i am

thats OK, you've every right to be confused. The warm ups were to try and gain some sort of knowledge over distances and it gives us a chance to mess up without too much consequence. However, not enough people submitted times, and there was a small amount of confusion over details and the general format which is why we've not bothered to post race and qualifying results. Now though, I'm confident that we've managed to sort out most of the main bugs and I've tried to make everything as clear as humanly possible.
Danisfast

finally, with us being in the short series forum, we're only allowed six races, but seeing as we first started in the long series forum, should there be a need, we can always just move back.
Hope that answers all your questions,
Danisfast
