Dashboard Racing Cockpit Project.

That looks spot on mate, really impressive stuff!

Just a thought though, will you be 'trimming' the centre console? Would be great if you could source a VW armrest to put there. Also work as a storage solution for the tv remote!

One day I might make one. I reckon an old BMW (E36 318 or E39 5xx loads at a scrap yards up and down the country) would be a good starting point, although the Golf is an excellent choice.

thanks.

i will probably get some sheets of wood and cover up the gaps. i might not put a VW armrest there though because when the Clubsport Handbrake comes out ill put it on the front half of the centre console, and in the back half (behind the seat) I'm going to put a mini fridge in so that when I'm doing an endurance race, i can have a drink without leaving the cockpit.

it will be cool if you make one aswell, and if you have a gaming PC you can get the dials to work with the car.

Would love to get a rig with working dials, but my pc is a budget job and I can't really spare any cash (I'm contemplating a new car and the girlfriend keeps talking about rings ;)).

At he moment I've only got a small study to keep all my boys toys in, so have clamped my wheel using the Clubsport table clamp to my pc desk.

One day I will try it though!

This thread is over a year old... I just looked through it and he says he paid 100 pounds for dash and seat. It's relatively easy to find one at auto wreckers, the dash assembly is almost always removed and just recycled, so unless you're getting the parts from a luxury car they should not be charging much at all.
