Hi, I'm starting to look into datacards/3G modems right now, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions.

The problem I'm finding is the the ridiculous price of the hardware in the first place - Vodaphone at a "basic" £25 a month package still manage to charge £100 for the modem, which is just a stupid price for me. I'm looking to pay no more than about £18 for the internet each month (or per 3gb+), and I'd like the hardware cost to be as low as possible.

The best deal I've found so far has been with Three. It uses your phone as a 3G modem, and you pay as little as £10 a month for the service on top of the £15 phone contract. There's no cost for hardware (free phone every 18 months), and I'd get a pretty decent 300 texts/anytime anynetwork minutes deal too. I used the 3 network for around 6 months until my Motorola broke, and I was very impressed with the service too.

Obviously it doesn't have to include a phone package, but that's the best I've found. I just wondered if anyone had experience with any other networks on this front or could find a similar deal. The Three one, however, looks the best and is probably the one I'd go for so far. That's until someone dissuades me :dopey:

All help appreciated - I'm pretty new at this. :dunce:

Thanks

Jon

EDIT

Closed. I went for a Three contract in the end and I'm using the £10/month internet add-ons.
