So, now that the Polestar has been announced to give it some credibility, I guess it's worth bringing the latest news into this topic.

Last week, in general discussion, the following datamine was posted:
To save you the eye strain, the four cars listed are:
  • _280_d_25
  • hs_vision_gt_25
  • panda_30_cl_85
  • polestar_5_26
The Polestar is the car that got announced last night, and the Panda we all knew about. But now that we know this has a good chance of being legitimate, I think it's fair for us to speculate - what on earth is a 280 D, and what manufacturer (or watch company, I guess?) could "HS" be?

Someone said HS can be Hispano-Suiza and it seems like the best fit right now. But HS also may not even represent the brand name and be a model instead, Something something Hyper Sport, for example.

280D from 2025 is very strange, might be something not yet announced, maybe it's just some sort of a codename for that new Toyota? I feel like otherwise it would be pretty easy to find a car released this year with 280D in the name.

Edit: Another idea, maybe 280D can be some modern tuned version of 280Z? With a diesel engine

Something to note about the "_280_d_25" is that it was between the Ferrari 250 GT and the Ferrari GTO, but those two cars have a different name on that datamined list, compared to the in-game name (which isn't surprising).

However, this could mean that the "_280_d_25" isn't the correct/complete name of whatever car it is referring to. If true, it would make sense why it seems this car doesn't truly exist (I still think it doesn't, to be honest ).

That 280 D could be:

Or more likely this....

Another possibility, according to the above post, it could be a ferrari.
The F80 has two "good" digits and was released in 2025...
It's a big bet but it would be a big bang after the Espace F1!

It's not in any way guaranteed or even particularly likely to be a Ferrari; that file excerpt was just in alphabetical order of the internal IDs (you can see the Polestar is followed by the Polo GTI, for instance).

Ferrari just have a lot of cars named as numbers so they'd naturally show up a lot in the part where numbers get sorted.

Not many of these cars are from 2025. Or 1925 for that matter.

Last time this came up, I noted that 280 in decimal is 118 in hexadecimal, and suggested it could be the 2025 BMW 118d.
Given that the other cars have their real life names, I don't think 280 refers to 118 hex if the list is consistent with always using decimal names in the text.

If it was hex, the Panda 30 would be Panda 1E, since 30 decimal in hex is 1E.

Unless PD are being inconsistent with their naming, which isn't impossible, but for what it's worth, I've not seen anything to suggest they aren't using decimal in their data files, having looked through parts of the internal car database in GT5 and GT6.

Things could change for sure, but to this point, from what I've seen in the GT7 leaked list, they have decimal values there too which reflect the real life name.
