They need to get as many people as possible to play the game regularly because of the sport mode and all. That's why it's on sale from beginning. It's it sales strongly even after almost a year.

I think like games which take in the most revenue, GT Sport is also relying on whales to make the lion's share of the profit. Fortnite is free and made approximately $300 million in just one single month.

Tldr ARPU is more important than sales
