So, is there a lobby currently up or is someone making one?

Lobby is up, but it's full.

I got disconnected :( And I entered again but got disconnected again. Guess I'll just drive Doog's X2010.

Won't be able to join until late tonight.

Just got DC'd. Guess it's now thinking up of cop cars and writing up another report from the Police Car Exhibition.

I'll come to the lobby after I finish making a hybrid.

I left because of the lack in members. The lobby became a little crazy.

Officer Hound here, back from another busy session of patrolling, and it's time for part 3 of the reports from the GTPD Police Car Exhibition. This time, I'll be looking at what the Germans have to offer.

Audi is one of the Volkswagen Group's main companies in the police car market. The R8 supercar continues to be marketed as an Interceptor alternative to the Lamborghinis. The 4.2 V8 is the entry level version, though most departments pony up the extra Cr.30,000 for the more powerful 5.2 V10 engine. Meanwhile, the RS6 Avant is a very strong contender. This wagon is packing a twin turbo V10 that delivers deceptively fast performance, combined with quattro all wheel drive grip. This wagon's practical, and heavy enough to do roadblock duty. However, its price, equal to that of the R8, turns quite a few forces off, even though this vehicle is a great multipurpose police car. Also, the weight does make the vehicle a bit tricky to maneuver, meaning the RS6 is often deployed on the highways.

BMW is also after a share of the police car market, with three very convincing products. The 135i Coupe is marketed as an Urban Pursuit Vehicle, a small car with great agility intended for use in cities. The M3 Coupe is a smart choice, combining power with handling in a package used by quite a few departments. The popular M5 is also present, and this big super sedan never fails to impress, especially with its powerful V10 engine. The M5 is often used by departments for Highway Patrol. BMW also owns Mini, and while departments are hesitant to use Minis, a few executives at the BMW stand have hinted that the Mini Cooper S Countryman may soon be turned into an inner city patrol car.

Mercedes-Benz makes up the third of the German Big Three, and the C63 AMG makes a convincing alternative to the BMW M3. This sedan is more practical than the M3 Coupe, and the 6.2 V8 makes big power, especially when turbocharged. Highway Patrols have expressed interest in the powerful C63, while city cops prefer the more refined M3 for its better handling. Mercedes is also showcasing the SLS AMG as an Interceptor competitor to the R8 V10. It looks like it's not just the Americans who are going to be locked in a cop car civil war...

I'll takeover the room for the next half hour or so.

Go for it Ameer, your more experienced.

OK, lobby's up.

Just tried out a turbo R8 Interceptor. It performs good. Well, that's it from me for today, check back tomorrow for day 2 of the GTPD Police Car Exhibition!

Will join in 10-15 minutes 👍

Well, Officer Hound here again, ready for Day 2 of the GTPD Police Car Exhibition. I hope to not only showcase the latest products, but also to drop helpful hints to those looking to buy their next patrol car.

I could do with another cop car

So then, onto round 2. The Italians are the masters at making supercars. Well, they pretty much *are* supercars, so it's no surprise to learn that their main focus on the cop car market is on Interceptors.

Alfa Romeo is present, with their 8C Competizione. A beautiful thing, this V8 Grand Tourer is a real alternative to the Maserati GranTurismo, though neither are what you'd think of when you mention cop car.

Ferrari are also here. They have a full range of Interceptors: 599, F430, 430 Scuderia and 458 Italia. These cars are fast and handle great but are very expensive. As expected, not many departments have signed up for a Prancing Horse.

Lamborghini is just opposite the Ferrari stand, and you'd expect beer bottles and other missiles to be thrown across the hall during some of the more drunken nights. The Gallardo LP560-4 is here, a higher performance version of the Audi R8 V10, and makes a real convincing Interceptor with high speed, all wheel drive grip and stability, and a history of being used by Italian Police. Lamborghini are also showcasing their Murcielago model, the LP640 and LP670-4 SV showcasing enormous speed, though one expects such cars to not be the most agile around. Alongside the Murcielagos, the new Aventador LP700-4 stands, a look into a very convincing future for Lamborghini Interceptors. With massive acceleration, great handling and a decent top speed, only the price prevents forces from signing on the dotted line.
