I agree with you. I did it legit with a ds3 after loads of trial. Shame we have to redo it. If the trophy is still there then I won't bother redoing it.

Can not see what as changed rankings still have the cheats all at the top.
May be my system as not updated yet, but they should clear the rankings.
All the top time replays are still cutting corners from what I can see .

I think the idea is a good one mixing real life with Gamers in the GT5 world.

This is the 2nd event thats been plagued with Cheating thats been linked to a real world event remember the Nürburgring 24hrs Time trial event,that was pulled & never showed up agine I am not counting the normal Seasonals as both these event were run at the same time as real life events the rest are not correct me if I am wrong.


I mean DC,s time on the real track was quick but not much quicker than a
GT5 player,for sure some one with more time was going to beat it,But not with a time several seconds quicker.

I think its sad that people have to cheat instead of sticking to black stuff I have struggled to get Bronze , but I am also no fan of the Top gear track.

I am look forwards to more real life based events & I am sure PD are working on these issues, though it would be for us all if they did not have to waste time stopping cheats & just working on updates or addons for the core game.👍

Its a shame they can't just implement proper events without the correct track restrictions. Its like forgetting to put those 'sleeping policeman' speed bumps down at the wall of champions chicane in Montreal.

Roll on the new leaderboards anyway, same as. Obviously a few people will try a bit harder to try and prove a point but it'll generally be the same.

Much worse than this cutting corners for me is not being able to compare myself to others using same difficulty settings. For example, I wanna be able to compare my laptime to others using wheels, no TCS, ABS 1 and no active steering. It is a totally differente challenge than using active steering and full TCS.

I figure DS3 users would also love to see how they compare themselves to fellow DS3 users, leaving out wheel users.

PD should just add more filter options. Very simple feature to add.

I agree 100%. I do not have a wheel and did pretty well in the Nissan Event (163 overall in my region) with the DS3. I am getting a wheel soon so I cannot wait (but still undecided which one to get).

I went through all of the top 128 people and I would say only 20 people max had the DS3, but to go through 128 people to see who had the wheel and DS3 was a pain!

I'm on about the new event coming up. I think like you said 1:14.1 is probably close to optimum.

EDDSKILL did a time of 1:14.747 without corner cutting and active steering early on in the event. My target is to get into the 14's when the new event starts.

I didn't do this event when it first came out for that very reason. I knew PD wasn't paying attention, figured someone would find a glitch and exploit it and this would happen. I don't care about the money or the trophy just the challenge of it, which is meaningless in a leaderboard full of cheaters. Glad it's fixed but why they hail can't they anticipate this stuff? Turn a couple of 14 year old gamers loose for a couple of days, pay them in pizza, potato chips and pepsi and this could all be solved.

well it should be a fair fight, either put cones up for DC or take our off. Give him tires with taller sidewalls than a 30 series or let us use sports hards. It's never been equal from day one, but people here still manage to best DCs time. I ran a 1:19 something the first go round, this time thats all i can manage also, a 1:19.4. I watched the guy who is in the #1 spot at the moment, and he was sliding, practically drifting half the turns, just barely keeping one tire inside the out of bounds area. I posted these images before but the mods locked the thread, so I'll post them again here. It's never been a truly equal match.

I say PD should make dam sure the fight is equal if they ever decide to do something like this again, which given the controversy over this one, I doubt they will. A SLS AMG comes standard with Pirelli P-Zero 295/30/20 tires, I would not call those comfort softs. Plus you can see by the lines DC drives versus our lines the track is very close but not equal. One more thing I don't understand at all is why PD makes your next lap invalid if you mess up on your current lap. I could understand if you cut Gambon making the next lap invalid, but any other turn should be inconsequential to what your time is on the next lap.

Somehow, people are posting back into the 14's again already. I've watched a few of the replays and I still don't get it!

I accept the fact that there are people always gonna be faster than me, but 5 seconds, on a 76 second track? Losing the will to live, here.

I had bronze before, ranked somewhere in the 11,000s worldwide (because I'm terrible at this), and now have bronze again, and rank 1925th worldwide (again because I suck at this). But I got an extra 150k cr for my troubles...
