The Ferrari F50 GT1 costs $1 800 000 and has a top speed of 236mph (379kph), only 5 miles (7 kilometers) faster than a McLaren which is much cheaper.

Looks alright though...

Correction the F50 GT1 is 5 miles an hour slower than the McLaren.

The F50 GT is that car in that picture. And I doubt it has a price of 1.8 million.

But did the Toyota GT1 win LeMans? Nope. BMW V12 did and the R8 did, and Ferrari hasnt put in factory backed cars in LeMans for a long time so I doubt they would and I really doubt they would sell the F50 GT to privateers.

Audi still woulda won Le Mans. And Bentley would've been behind 'em--all part of a divine plan. MY divine plan! I picked the top 3...

Well the Bentley's did have the R8 engine and drivetrain and such.

Yeah, I know, unlike the alleged Bentleys of old, which "resembled actual production cars." My ass. Well, they couldn't do that now; that straight-up grille isn't exactly a model of wind-tunnel perfection.

were in for building a car to race at LeMans, they would. They aren't, and that's why you haven't seen one.

If they do, they'll make sure the car is competitive.

BTW... The McLaren is only faster top speed wise, cause it was setup for top speed. With it's handling setting (so it can match the Ferrari in handling) is alot slower.

Those of you that read Car And Driver should know what I'm talking about. With the setup they used, the car could only hit 190 MPH.

Top speed isn't any type of comparison anyway. You'll only hit those speeds at the 'Flats or a giant autobahn.

Please note that that was the initial selling price of the Mc. (1MIL)
IF you could find one now, it is likely in the rage of 1.5-2 mil.

When i was doing drivers ed. one of the vidz we watched was of a talkshow hosts son paralel parking with his driving instructor between an aston martin and ferrari f50

by the way what is the top speed of the McLaren F1, the fastest Ive know that it can go is 241mph. why i know this? because it was on topgear, the McLaren set it in germany somewhere

Several cars have already beat this, but because they havn't finished the # of customer cars required, they arn't in the reccords. Koensegg is one of these, (see latest EVO magazine.)

Top speed of the McLaren is 241mph (if memory serves me). The Ferrari in the picture is the F50 GT1, designed to be raced (unsurprisingly) in the GT1 series. It was however never raced, Ferrari concentrating on Formula 1. It was therefore sold on the proviso that it would never be raced, the fact it is a one off causing it to be so expensive. In terms of top speed, not even an F1 gets over 240 on a race circuit so what is the point of gearing the car to do it?

At the VW-owned Wolfsburg Proving Ground.
