In a drag race, what factor is most important? (What's going to make you win?)

1. Transmission
2. Launch
3. weight dist.
4. suspension

Horsepower?
It's kind of between launch and transmission.

I despise drag racing (though strangely allow it in my lobby ), but I'd say a mix of launch and transmission.

Short gear change times+fast launch=win.

Launching for me, if you get away perfectly with no wheelspin while the other driver starts by doing a burnout you'll win be a mile

Launch for short distances but their not to common so I'd have to pick transmission.

Here's a fantasy comparison:

Say you have 4 S2000s;
All 4 need 200 kg, put in Position 0
Torque split 30:70

One puts the ballast in an ideal spot, near the rear, to add grip to the rear.
One gets a soft rear suspension to add rear grip.
One gets full custom transmission, with short gearing to match a sharp torque curve.
One Starts in 2nd gear, which accelerates faster than 1st.


What change makes for a faster car?
