Are you saying you think you should be able to? If so, then, I'm sorry, but no.

I'm not trying to be disrespectful in any way, shape, or form Jordan, but why is it a bad thing to be able to delete our own posts?

Surely it would be of some use to delete our own double (and, given a few server "hiccoughs", triple, quadruple and quintuple) posts from time-to-time.

Maybe this could be restricted only to the last post made by the user? Obviously you'd then have a new last post, if you deleted the first last post...

Wow, I DO sound drunk now... :D

Because, you can get rid of evidence, and alter the entire flow of a thread. Take, for example, somebody loses their temper and flames someone else, and then goes back and deletes their posts before a moderator can get to it. Now, the moderator will have no proof that the person even posted in a thread, and they won't be able to even begin reprimanding the user. You could also delete posts for fun, and turn threads into senseless replies and scattered and confusing conversation.

you can still do that with the edit option, well kinda

That would be fun... *evil grin*

But if it were restricted to the last post made by the user only, then they would have to go back and systematically delete every post they'd made since the post they want to delete - this would be a "good thing" for multiple posts, as it would almost always be the most recent post you'd made. And precious few people would go to THAT length to anarchise a thread - especially the spamhounds.

Just a thought.

Alright then, I'm missing something here.

Why does it say that Curveball started this thread bit Attila has the first post?

Whoops! I never thought of it that way. :O

I thought you'd say something like that. But i guess the only reason there would be to be able to delete your own posts, is to get rid of double, triple, etc posts.

So in the end, the bad out weighs the good.

One of those old server glitch things...They were all the rage a month ago. I think.

Yep, just a server glitch. :irked:

Ah alrighty then.

Hows about a delete function that lets you delete your post(s) if the times for the the two posts are within the 30 second limit, thus being able to delete double+ posts?

Good idea. 👍

An addition to the delete your own post, the user deleted posts would go to the admin trash can..Therefore the admins will see a special symbol by the deleted thread so they could see if there is any unsuitable information contained in the thread.....OWNED!
