don't let the size deter you, if you can get 350mm wheel . even for Mx5 and Mustang , they are really nice to drive. a real size wheel and pretty much light as a feather. since I got the wheel second hand. the suede is a bit flat but still very comfortable to hold.

The rim is fantastic. when I first Installed it , I laughed at it as they are big, even Redyfe saw it and thought I was going to drive a bus with it lol. but TBH this is 350mm, which is the size of common car's steering wheel.
and since it's comming off of a track car, I got a very good price for it.

My point is if you see a 350mm wheel rim on sale or ebay. especially when they are genuine, grab it, it will feel very natural to drive easier to correct oversteer in corners. But check the weight, the lighter the better. this one weigh in at 1048g i think, just around the same weight as the original rim. but since it's bigger. it felt much lighter or less sluggish.
I drove with this for a week everyday, Mx5 and Oval, and after 2 days, I went back the original GT wheel, this makes the GT rim feel "mini".

I can totally understand why Fanatec choose a 330mm size for it's BMW rim. but at 2kg+ (don't quote me as I don't own fanatec BMW rim), I think the mod26 is much easier to manoeuvre.

Last question. With what size hands (glove size as a measurement) are you able to reach the paddles, if at all?

LOL, 350mm (14") is a SMALL wheel for oval racing! 380mm (15") is a modern standard, but some folks still like a 16" or 17" (400mm or 430mm) on big ovals where small, precise input is required :)

the size does matter. T500 can cope with it fine. I just edited my post with a bit more info re size and weight. this rim is 350mm but the weight is the same if not lighter than the original GT rim. now it certainly feels lighter than the GT rim .
yes I can reach the paddle but its not very "natural" using the flappy paddle with 350mm. felt a bit far. but not too far if you know what I mean.
my glove size i think is 10 UK sparco karting gloves,
i had to increase the FFb from normal 8 in iRacing. to 10 , but other than that, it makes it easier to drive.

Hmmm, so I might need to make some paddle extensions of sorts that can be popped on and off of the original pedal shifters. Even if its with a couple of small screws.
I have size 9 gloves myself, which would mean that it would certainly be a stretch for me.

Small FFB increase, not bad. I reckon this is with the driver defaults of "Global Strength: 60%"?
Those Buhler motors are a lot better that Fana-Buchi's in terms of build quality and thus performance.

I wonder if a larger rim would make it all feel a bit smoother. Can't wait to try it out. I hope my neighbour finds that rim quickly on his attic. He said the brand and type of the rim but I totally forgot what it was. *grumpy* It frustrates me to no end, not remembering. lol

First I want to figure out on how to utilize the internal electronics of the T500 though. The F1 rim has a microcontroller in it it seems. Which I reckon was just chosen for the two rotary encoders in the rim. Every button press is send to the T500's main microcontroller via serial interface as far as I can see. Need to do more research though as I am not sure which lead of the connector sends what, or even what is the ground lead yet.

From the last pics added. I think the rim looks a lot like the Momo Monte Carlo 350mm rim. Though that is a leather rim (easier to keep clean in my opinion).

BE VERY CAREFUL!!!! Most wheels are NOT flat, they have a dish to them. This will pit the wheel quite far from the paddles 👎 That Sparco (much like the Momo we use on our NASCARs) have 80mm of dish on the 350 and 87mm on the 380 :scared:

I have two Mod 08 Momo wheels that I used on our rigs initially and the 85mm of dish made them impractical...

Just some personal experience I think is important to share ;)

I didn't realise about the "dish" factor. so THAT's why they are able to make those wheel so close to Danica's driver's chest. 💡

YES, that must be it. larger rim makes it much much smoother to drive. my control panel FFB is at 65% not sure what the default is but that is the setting when I first got the wheel .

The weight is what makes a wheel sluggish not the size. so you can have a 380mm or 400mm rim and still feels agile and fast than a 300mm heavier rim. that is of course, my opinion. though, I test this to no end for the past week, can't seem to like the GT rim anymore :(.

really? ok, monte carlo 350? ok then(I really need to google the serial up), this one still have some suede left. have the serial number like this. although that doesn't matter anymore to me at this stage. I love it. he said it's off a Ferrari, im not sure if I believe him or not. but it's a good rigid and light wheel.

the momo sticker is a bit washed off but underneath it, there is also a momo stamp.

It seems this is the 80's predecessor of the Momo Monte Carlo. The Monte Carlo was the wheel I wanted to get for a while now. ;)

Also about the speed of a wheel. The speed might not slow down due to weight, but the radius of the wheel is larger. So the time it takes for the rotation to complete a 360 on the outer edge would take longer with a larger rim.
The upside is that indeed (as noted above by others) is that you're able to be more precise more easily due to this.

I do not see this seam on your HRC (above) on Hwangm's HRC (below) photo from the OP.

The HRC I tested last year near LAX had no seams either.

Good pair of eyes you've got Jogo, the silver one that iIhave is a previous production model. My black player frame set which is a newer version also have got those seam on them.
 
Just check HR Facebook images, the new Frosted Colours have Seams - maybe its a new design - or they haven't covered the seams for a reason - not sure but it doesnt really bother me, what would be nice is a way to open them up and tuck wires inside of them - That be a genius idea!
 
Clear 3m double side tape for me. You can arrange the wire tidily stack them side by side all the way and peel/pull them off when you add/take out accessories ie shifter or bb

Just to clarify, I mean't no criticism.
I guess it caught my eye because I had noticed that the demo unit I had tried out last year near LAX had none. :)
I seriously considered getting one of these before the urge to build something won.

Having since gone back and looked at various pics posted online, quite a few seem to have the seams.
Its just that Madcap's stellar photography brought out the details in a way not apparent in other pics.
