I delete something every few minutes and it pops back out of the recycle bin and I press empty recycle bin and asks for a confirmation and I say yes and I check and all the items are still there.

Please help.

Something running is probably creating the file, so whenever you delete it, it gets re-created. Check for spyware.

Also try restarting the computer, then deleteing it.

Well when it re creates itself a windo saying website viewer: dialing in progress pops up....

Definitely run Ad-Aware and see if that gets rid of it. If that doesnt work, get HijackThis 👍.

Spy/malware comes in many forms, one being dialers. The most common are porn dialers; they usually dialup an expensive number (just like you were connecting to the internet with a dialup connection) and take you to a porn site... or something.

That's just great.:grumpy: God why don't they all just die? Well it hasn't come back for awhile now.

Shannon's right, you can usually trust Shannon on matters regarding this.

Get Ad-Aware or Syware Blaster. They usually handle most spy and malware problems.

I agree, sounds like spyware/adware to me. Run adaware or something comparable and you should be fine.

If not, (and if you are running XP) ctrl+alt+del and go to processes. If you see anything that is just a bunch of random letters chances are very high that it is some form of malware. Also, rundll.exe should not be listed in active processes. The only processes that you should not end because of the random lettering are mdm, alg, csrss, lsass, and smss, and anything labelled a System Process should not normally be ended.

Hope this helps.

It's my parents bill.

It's a dialer virus not adware or spyware. And I must get this out of here, hell will taking a hammer to the harddrive work?

One of the awesome things about having broadband is the lack of need to hook it up to the phone line. My brother has had a dialer, but because we have broadband, no phone line was hooked up. Luckily.

Nevermind it is but I'm just going to stop using my computer untill I can figure out how to get rid of this annoyance.

Run some anti spyware program, such as Ad-aware, SpyBot, SpySweeper, etc.

If that doesn´t work then the only way is to format your HDD.

If you format your HDD? Everything you have on it. Format = Erase

You should backup the most important files you have on a CD first of course.

If you're running XP you can go into the task manager and end the process and then do a search for the filename and delete all the occurances. That should help take care of it, again, if you're running XP which I hope you are. Also you could run Spybot S&D that should find it.

And while we´re talking about anti spywares, I just want to say that I got today Microsoft´s AntiSpyware. It´s a beta, but it works really well. 👍

Hmm .. Just from reading over M$'s page on it I say it sounds worth downloading and installing on my computer. I'll get back with my opinions afterwards - and I'll probably put it up in another thread.
