Soccer mom's favorite car?

I was expecting something along the lines of, "are we there yet?" or "I have to pee." My mom had one of those when I was real little, and we drove back and forth between California and South Dakota in it every summer for three or four years. Three days each way, seven of us packed in there with its rear-racing third row. Good memories. Probably explains my love for wagons.

The story of who actually deserves credit for the design of the KG is pretty convoluted. It's usually credited to Luigi Segre, president of Carrozzeria Ghia, but Mario Boano, Sergio Coggiola and Giovanni Savonuzzi all contributed to it and all have taken credit for it at one time or another. However Virgil Exner of Chrysler believed it was simply a scaled down version of the Chrysler D'Elegance and K-310 concepts he designed and had Ghia build for him in 1952/3, and the resemblance is uncanny.

Under-appreciated four-wheeler.
