I will also get the money from GT3 and keep it as a credit, in case I need it. I intend to start with licenses and get as many gold as possible and get some prize cars and use those.

My first intention was to import the datas of GT3 and GT4P, and buy an M3. But after reading the whole thread, I'm not sure anymore....
I remember I had a few troubles at the start of GT3, as I bought a toyota yaris as my first car. That could be a mistake, I don't know, but I found it incredibly slow, uninteresting to drive, and I didn't enjoy it really. That's why I would import datas, in order to start with an interesting car.

On the other side, I remember I had incredible play time when I bought a lancer evo VI as my 2nd car. Tight races, until the last corner, I really enjoyed it. So an M3 may not be fair enough, it depends on the difficulty settings.

I don't want to have easy races, but, I'm not either keen on driving cars that a cheetah would overtake easily. So that depends on who are the opponents on the first races....
For the guys who have the game already, does the level of the opponents change (more powerful cars) depending on your cars strength, for the first races, or not ?

Imported both.

I've done those damn tests off the bat for 3 games. I'm happy about this feature because it allows me to jump right into the game. I'll more then likely eventually go for the gold for the cars anyway but at least I'm not being forced to take these tests over again. Besides if they are anything like the ones in GT3 the physics won't be really explored until the later level licenses anyway.

The money I earned and have no problems using it.

Just wondering, how do you import your save, take in mind i've been away for a month, now, and missed a lot of stuff. I'm typing this at school, since i still don't have the internet. I'll have it by friday hopefully.

Do not transfer credit from GT3 because it may ruin your entire Gt4 joy. You know, i tranfered my credit and bought a Mustang GT 05, I won a number of races with it, but I didn't really feel happy after winning, i felt like i didn't earn it, it just feel too easy, I don't have the "yes, I did it" feeling with Mazda MX 5 in GT3. That's why tonight, i restart GT4, only transfer the A and B license, use my 10000 credits to buy a 89 Skyline, won Sunday cup with it, and you know what, the feeling is back, i smile to myself after winning the race...he..he

"Thata boy" see thats where the fun is.

My gt3 save only had 20k on it since I restarted some months back. I brought that in only because I needed cash for some weight reduction on my car and some better tires. Citta di Aria was pretty damn difficult on a stock Lancer Evolution I

I did both.

Simply to have a fun car to play with, and another, cheaper car to put a few modifications into.

I bought the 190 Evo II Mercedes for kicks and practice, a RX7 Type R-S to mod. Its still a bit of a challenge keeping the rear end straight with no TCS or anything...

Im getting GT4 on March 10, and ill be importing 100000cr. Im reckon its a wicked idea, ill still hav a average car to start with (I reckon a 89' Mitsi VR-4) and still hav money for a BEAST car!Only 13 days 2 go!!!!!!!!!!!!:-)

i dont get gt4 till the 11th march but i will be transferring money, however, i will spend less than 10k on my first car and use the rest to buy a car that i want to use outside the simulation mode or at least until i get annoyed with slow cars

Whoa whoa whoa sunny jim!! Where abouts you from? I'm down in sunny old side Shoreham. Well I'll be damned, I never thought I'd ever see someone else from Brighton on here. And I'm getting mine on the 8th, like the rest of the UK, I'm sure Virgin or HMV will have it in.

I can't decide. Thing is I want to start from scratch and work my way up, but I'm gonna be so intrigued so several cars and wanna know what they're like to drive. I dunno I guess I'll do eny meny miny mo, when it comes to it.

before i answer, im proud to say i got gt4 today, played it for about an hour so far. im letting my brother try it out right now. the physics are quite different from the third. all im doing for now is driving around all the new courses in arcade mode as a way to get used to the physics.

no i didnt import my gt3 save game. i agree with everyone about getting used to it. the main reason i did it is that when i finally beat the game, ill know that i did it from scratch. if i do import it, i might just do the 100,000 credits later on if you can do that.

Try to win the fisrt event in special conditions hall (it'sdamn hard btw, i had to try several time before i got it) , you'll win a Cadillac cion 02, it's a beast, you can earn 100000 easily with it, there's no need to import GT3...he..he

you dont need to import your GT3 data, almost immeditaly in the game your thrown an insain ammount of Cash flow that boggles the human mind and destroys the fun factor of "simulation"

Imagine a 10 ton truck and a Mini cooper one on each side of a scale, and you get the idea of the Balance this game has.

I imported both the A/B License and $100,000. Those first license are super easy anyway, and I really need to use my time on the rest of the licenses. On GT3, S License alone took me hours to complete. I finished the I-A/B Licenses tonight(on GT4), took me around 4 hours(no joke :( ). They are all Bronze, except one silver, yes I know I'm not very good.

I imported money, but not licenses cause then you get the cars for earning the licenses! 💡
from what i've heard even though you import the licences you can still win the cars..

Why do that? Just do the second event and win a car worth 264,000cr (toyota RSC ralyl car i believe). It can be done easily. I did it in my evo with suspension, stage 2 weight reduction, chip, and a racing flywheel.

I intended to play through the hard way, so I shopped around a bit and found a nice red Evo II for about all the starting cash. I tore into Sunday Cub pretty good, then went at the 4WD race. It was much harder, but still no problem. Then I went and tried Clubman Cub. And got annihilated. Again and again. I began slowly upgrading my Evo with the measly cash from Sunday Cup, and managed to get through most of it. Then, the dark side called out to me and I figured that I could spend the next three hours getting cash for a better car, or blow it all off in an instant with the import. I did it, blew it off on a BMW M5, and promptly regretted it. Sucked most of the challenge out of the beginning of the game (course, it came back in spades later, karmic retribution :)

If I had known what Bspec mode was, I'd have used that to ease my frustration and still got cash relatively easily...

I didn't and never would import the licenses though. They may be evil with the new physics engine, but that's the practice for the future 👍

Yeah but that M5 is ridiculously cool. In real life it would torch the cars in the beginning races, so I guess you knew what you were getting in to when you bought it. :D

I too started 2 saves.

I started with standard no-save stuff and raced the Lupo. After I had enough money to do what I wanted, I started on my German Garage From Hell.

I bought 2 M3's, 1 Ruf, 1 M5, 1 Benz 190 2.5 Evo. Only thing I built was one of my M3's and my M5. Very fun game though. I'm a little surprised at how obsessed I am with the German cars, although many of these have been my dream car at one time or another.

Well I imported my licenses and the cash because I wanted to have a nice stable of cars to start out with.

I don't trust B-spec to win anything that has a 5 second difference in lap times. The AI isn't to be trusted if your really want to win (unless your car is unevenly faster). Numerous times when I was lazy I let B-spec try to pull a win and it didn't happen. When I tried the race was simple.

Very true. I tried a race in which my car was slightly faster. I had to keep telling it to overtake and it only made it to 3rd by race end on a 2 or 3 lap race (can't remember).

If you want something done right, you have to do it yourself.

I imported my money, But I don't regret it, i'm not that great at the game and I needed better cars :P

Don't feel bad, old boy. I just did IA and IB last night. Just like you said, all bronze and 1 silver. Except it only took me an hour and a half. Not bad considering you have to do a full lap of Nurb. I just shot through those tests like nobody's business.

But driving on snow is a Bee itch!
