I know I'm not supposed to show cars from a dealship, but this is cool and I have no idea what on earth it is.

It was dark and I was trying to drive so the picture isn't real great. Looks like a Lotus of some kind.

I would have to agree with you on that. Must be somewhat rare, I've never seen one before tonight.

Iinitially thought, "Omg, a Fiat Coupe!" but I've found there are a few more than I thought around Australia. That maybe not so though on Victorian roads.

Got it.

The first and only Fiat Coupe I've ever seen. (It's a Turbo too)

If you ever head around there or South Bank on a friday or saturday night, it's when all the AMGs, Bentleys, RRs and other very cool things (Stretched hummers) come out to play.

There a valet opposite the Famous club which is at One Queensbridge street, that is the place to be 👍

Got it.

Cool. Where in Melbourne did you see the Fiat?

I was in Vancouver for Friday evening and part of today. I managed to get a few piccies that are worthwhile, but I also saw a lot of AMG Mercedes' that I wasn't able to photograph in time.
Most of these are from my phone, some from my digital camera. Whichever was handy at the time.

Impreza STi
I see these occasionally, but I figure that it's rare enough to warrant posting.

A Trio of MGBs - Two MGBs and an MGB-GT. All earlier (early 70's and older) models, and with two MGAs not pictured behind the B's. Not rare cars, but a group of them is still neat-o.
mbgx3jj9.jpg

This is an R32 Skyline. Don't know the trim model, but I'll assume GT-R. Not all that unique in itself, but I think that it's carrying a kayak is.

Porsche 996 Carrera 4 beside a 300C SRT-8.

And lastly, a Porsche 997 Carrera S.

Cool. Where in Melbourne did you see the Fiat?

That is on the rooftop car of Knox City Shopping Centre. About 10 minutes away from me. If you don't know it you should! And check out the VMAX Cinema, I think it's the biggest screen in the southern hemisphere (29m diagonal or something)

You're d*mn right that's rare! I believe there's only 340 made, and extremely very few in the U.S.

Very good find. 👍

They had a Catheram and a Atom at the dealer to but I couldn't get a good picture, I'm going back to Woodward next weekend so I'll see if they are still there.

My buddy Jason came by today to my apartment with his new set of wheels. So, I decided to take pictures. :)

This last picture was taken before I even opened the door. You can see he obsessed with Bob Marley by the bandana hanging from his mirror and his matching bracelet.

Two major highlights:

I was walking along the road and looked into a huge mall parking lot and noticed this:

360_modena-032407-6.jpg

There's a Ferrari owner who's really got to trust other drivers - and who's really got to distrust valets. It was a '99 360 F1 with BBS wheels. More shots: 1 2 3 4, and my favorite:

360_modena-032407.jpg

"Ferrari vs. Ram"

The other big highlight came seconds before I left. I walked down to a valet stand to photograph a Bentley before calling it a day when I noticed this occurring:

murcielago_360-032407-10.jpg

The driver of the Murcielago was black, as was the driver of the 360 Spider; both vehicles had Fulton County (Atlanta), Georgia plates. The drivers got out and simply left the cars after talking to the valets for a second, so there were some decent photos taken:

murcielago_360-032407-9.jpg

murcielago_360-032407-4.jpg

Of course, people flocked to the area and took pictures themselves:

murcielago_360-032407.jpg

The cars were really something special, and seeing them next to one another like that was Earth-shattering. I loved every second. This is the - unbelievably - FIFTH Murcielago Roadster I've seen, each of which have been differently-colored. And yet no Gallardo Spyders to this day. There are so many pictures of the vehicles that there's no point in sharing them all, but you get the idea - Ferrari + Lambo = incredible. :D

So that's my Saturday!

Damnit Doug! Can you clarify when you take pictures of the V8 Vantage whether it is a Baby DB9 or one of the other 3? Calling it "Baby Aston," "V8 DB9," or "DB9 Clone #2" would suffice. You keep raising my hopes and smashing them.

What was that thing turning in the second NSX photo? A 200SX?
Also, was that an M5 next to the Harley Davidson F-150, or just a Vanilla 5-series? What about the one next to the Testarossa?
On the subject of the Testarossa and its California plates: Statistically, since the Final Episode of Miami Vice, more than 100% of all Testarossas are now located in California. True fact.
@ 360 Spider picture: Lol. That guy looks pissed.
I also think that Prowler is a Chrysler instead of a Plymouth based on the paint, but I can't tell for sure.

When I saw it I thought to myself 'I'll write 'Sorry Toronado' next to it when I post it,' but I forgot to do so. :D

It's a '95-'99 Sentra.

To answer your first question:

murcielago_360-032407-6.jpg

The one next to the Testarossa was a 525i. I only remember because the jackass HONKED AT ME for taking the photo, presuming I was taking the photo of him. What an idiot. No buddy, you're not that important, and sorry but your car is a disgusting overpayment.

As for the first photo; honestly, if I photographed every single M5 I saw we'd be here all day. No point in doing that - we're all seeing them, I think. Did see two E34 M5s yesterday - one was driving crazily - but no photos, so you haven't got to believe me.

On the subject of the Testarossa and its California plates: Statistically, since the Final Episode of Miami Vice, more than 100% of all Testarossas are now located in California. True fact.

The second one I ever saw was in Denver in August, and it had temporary plates from Ferrari of Orange County. Oddly the first one I ever saw was in Denver in July and it had Florida plates - and this one is in Georgia with California plates. I have a knack for seeing these things with out-of-state tags. I wonder what that speaks to.

I also think that Prowler is a Chrysler instead of a Plymouth based on the paint, but I can't tell for sure.

Plymouth badges - otherwise I think I'd be inclined to agree.

Seeing that pic made me dislike intensely the wheels on that Ferrari.
M5Power

Its not that. I didn't particularly care whether it was, nor was it a ramble against the lack of photos of it. I was just curious.

Same - I hate people who put non-stock wheels on supercars. I don't mind the Testarossa wearing 512TR wheels, but huge rims are idiotic. Fortunately he kept the Murcielago stock.

I figured as much, but I was explaining it in case someone else asked.

Now, Doug will complain that I am diluting the DYSATGT thread by posting most of these (and he is right), but I have two cars that will shut Doug up good.
First up, new GMC Yukon:

New Chevy Silverado:

Also, a suspiscously nice Cavalier.

I mean seriously. That has got to be the nicest second gen Cavalier I have ever seen that was not my fathers or a convertible.

The Most Horrible Car Color Ever, seen on two different vehicles that both oddly suit said color:

The Aztec is made even worse by the fact that it was the grey side panel model, and that I personally know who owns it.

Stereotyping is fun:

This guy was the pure definition of redneck. He revved the engine every 5 seconds or so, he had a hat with a Confederate Flag on it (though not that big a deal considering the ethnic make up of town, but still risky considering what part of town he lives in) and he had a mullet of at least 7 inches.

Hemp Van:

And now for the good ones. First up is the first generation Honda Odyssey.
Now, most people think of Honda Odyssey and they see this and think it is the first gen. They are wrong. The original Honda Odyssey came from the same deal that got us the Honda Passport:

And now, for the car. The legend. The...odd.

I present to you, the Toyota Camry. Wagon.

Wiht twin rear windshield wiper action!

"Aha," you say "But Toronado, where is the legend you discussed this week? You talked about seeing that two weeks ago!"
And you are right.
I now present to you.
In full splendor.
And Color.
The Honda Del Sol.
Now with AWD:
Yes, Doug, that was sarcasm. No need to correct me.

The registration said it was a 1998 model. Which equals absurdly rare (1 out of 477).
Perhaps the defining reason as to why rarity does not equal value.

I also completely forgot to get a pic of any of the 3 Porsches, or the BMW M3. Or the Hemi 'Cuda and other cars of its ilk.

I wouldn't call this a 'spot,' but I thought it was funny. I was filling up my gasoline at a station I don't frequent too often, basically off the main-road, and not even a 'mainstream' brand (not a BP, Amoco, Shell, etc...). Anyway, the screen kept using a classic Porsche to demonstrate how to operate the pump. Just thought it was odd...

070321173412ys3.jpg

Especially odd, since Porsche's are filled from the front wing. It may not confuse the average car owner, but I'd pay money to see a first-time Porsche driver fumble his way around.

The other big highlight came seconds before I left. I walked down to a valet stand to photograph a Bentley before calling it a day when I noticed this occurring:

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/81401/cars/group/murcielago_360-032407-10.jpg

If that was all that appeared before my camera lens in a week, I'd be quite satisfied. One hundred photos? I rarely take that many at NYAIAS. That's a bit much, but it's not like there's nothing worth shooting. Looked like nice weather, too. We had grey skies by us...and no nice cars. Jealousy rears it's frog-green head again....

That? That tupperware car is what you had me guessing about? I don't know; it would make a cute commuter car in regions that get snow. I guess you meant "legendary" as in "no one knows about it because no one thought it was worth buying". :D

Toronado
I also completely forgot to get a pic of any of the 3 Porsches, or the BMW M3. Or the Hemi 'Cuda and other cars of its ilk.

No 'Hemi Cuda? Bad, Toronado, bad. For shame, monsieur pussycat!

No way - photos are photos. I was just saying that we should come up with some sort of standard, because when people put up a 911 and say it's rare I could literally post twenty daily, simply walking around campus. God only knows how many there are in Buckhead.

First up is the first generation Honda Odyssey.

The real cull isn't the Odyssey, but its Isuzu twin, the Oasis. However neither this nor the Camry wagon are rare enough to shut me up - I know people who have both vehicles, not to mention I see them on the road with some regularity. That may be a function of how much I drive, though. The X-90 is pretty rare indeed, having been sold for only three years.

I was here last week, and will be back in a few days. Any picture requests? They have cooler cars than I had been expecting.

I do see first gen odessi fairly often, and my best friend used to own an X90. However it's interesting to learn that Honda used more than one vehicle built by isuzu, I mean ISUZU of all people, wtf?

You've got it wrong. Honda built the vehicle and sold it as the Odyssey, with Isuzu re-selling it as the Oasis from 1996 to 1999. The interesting thing about that vehicle is that Isuzu turned down the offer to sell the new-for-1999 Odyssey because the first-generation model was such a poor seller. That of course turned out to be a huge mistake, as the second-generation model remains one of the best minivans ever.

The Oasis/Odyssey project was because Isuzu built the Rodeo and Trooper for Honda as the Passport and Acura SLX.

heh im SURE ive been there. But i didnt see a movie or anything :nervous: .

Today i saw a nice Falcon GT, crappy looking 911, Civic (RICED OUT!!), 300c, GT-S Skyline R32 x2 and thats it!

I saw a DB7 zagato today!!:)
Nice find.

Speaking of seeing anything good, are you planning on making a trip over to Kuala Lumpur for the Malaysian GP in a couple weeks?

It looks like I may have to be in Singapore the following week, so I'm considering going early, and puddle jumping over to Kuala Lumpur for the race.

I was hoping to catch a ride on the A380 from the states, but the production delays have killed any hope of that. In fact, last I heard Singapore Airlines may be canceling all their A380 orders.

If you are going to attend, send me a PM and maybe we and other GTP members can meet before or after the race.

Not shut you up due to rarity. Shut you up due to awesome.
