taken at the boxing day meet, where everyone shows what they imported for xmas, and the chavs try desperately to drive back and forth while noone pays attention to them...heres a few of the best spots
41 chrysler coupe
42 dodge, must have been near the end of the production line before they stopped for war effort
challenger with all the right boxes ticked
and heres a novel thing
vauxhall hsr, rally homologation thing
MOST AWESOME POST IN A LONG LONG TIME! If only the Challenger was a 1970-71, Id pick it over the Black Chrysler, but nah
strangely, the Vauxhall wins me!!! Awesome little cockroach.
After the false Lambo, here comes another batch of cars from me, but this time there is nothing flashy here, just rust and rust and more glorious rust! also, strangely, loads of Mopars and Buicks!! we never feature Buicks here.
First this 1958 ford Ranch Wagon found out of the city, near Grandmas house, in complete abandonement and disrepair. Frankly, t is one of the most gone cars Ive ever seen.
Then, nearby that car, this poor, poor VW oval window (1952-1957), very rare in Mexico because in these years bugs were imported, not made here. Its just a shell, but look at it, its very restorable as it is not too rusted, but it lacks EVERYTHING!!! I had never seen a VW so picked over, youd just have to get everything for it, but hey, Id take it.
Check out that interior, or lack of it. Cool. Damn Im weird.
Some odd big gigantic Chrysler, Imperial or I dont know, big block for sure, it has vanished since then.
Very very cool Mexican 1979 Super Bee (think of it as a US Road Runner with Bee tirm) with WIDE, WIDE as they should be, rear tires on Ansen slot mags and original stripes over pale yellow, also an original colour. 4-speed too, wich makes it a very rare car, most of those were autos. Awesome car, I would not change a thing
well, Id up the compression on the 360, of course, these things came with 7.5:1!!!!!
Mid 60s Dodge tow truck with
yeah, that is a Challenger behind, 318-auto model, nothing special but it IS special here because Challengers were never sold here and, as you know, they are HOT right now. It went off the city to be turned into a drag car, so its fate was cool. The car was outside the shop you can see in the fourth picture, of which Ill post more of once I find them, they specialized in Mopars and always had cool rare cars there.
The green thing is a 74 mexican Super Bee, if you look closely you¿ll see a Challenger shell and of course, a F100.
In the same place, 1970 Dodge Coronet, I was about to buy this car when I noticed that some dude had been living inside it, so I just passed
it had massive rust but I did not care at that time, today I would not even look at it, too much work. You can see the green Bee and the Challenger hulk in front of it.
Very sad 1969 Javelin, rust everywhere, and that dismantled face, these were awesome cars but they were never sold with V8s in Mexico:
Oh yeah, very nicely restored early Karmann Ghia with late 70s wheels, these cars are so nice, Id love ot own one very cal-look style.
Very rare in here mid-70s 3-series? BMW pretty picked over, inside the parking lot of a mall! The car has since disappeared, lets hope it fell in good hands, but I really doubt it
sad.
Peeking out of said malls windows, I saw this!!! A 1964 Buick Riviera, very very rare car that was never sold here, Mexico missed the Riviera by three years (but I doubt it would have been sold here anyway), it was in good condition, Id drive it just like that, its only missing white walls with Astro Supremes:
Then, another one, really strange, but true: time capsule 1970 Buick Riviera! Check out the psychedelic paint job and real Buick wheels, and also the vinyl top
this car is extremely rare here, Buicks were sold until 1961 then the marke left the country, so this was an awesome find. It looked like it had been there for years but it has now disappeared, lets hope it went to a cool owner that wont paint it.
Gargantuan early 70s Buick
I think its a Wildcat but I´m not sure, also rare because, again, Buick were never sold in Mexico in that era
its weird, three Buikcs in the same post!! This is a 4 door so I doubt anyone will pay much attention to it, but I found it and had to snap:
At its side, a 1953 Chevrolet 4-door that was nothing special, but it was SO rusty I could not pass it up, DIG THAT TEXTURE!!!
Then a 1964 Coronet hardtop that has seen better days
it s one of those cars you could fix up transplanting everything off a 4-door and just patching the rear quarters. Altered wheelbase project FTW!
I think I had already posted one image of this 1958 Chevy 4-door, but here the dual-view version surfaced and just had to put it up, dig the Camaro wheels and general dust:
There it goes, and also, just to remind myself, Im at page 8 of my Photobucket.
