Although my neighbour does have a Nismo 370/50z. Now that I think about it there must be more nice cars per capita than Cleveland. My other neighbour has a Viper. I know, I know, I have no proof but it's winter and not nice car weather.

Today, on the way to school, in the midst of the daily traffic filled with silver Camries and black 3 Series Beemers, I saw something. As it drove by, I craned my neck to uncomfortable extremes to see it. It was white, with shiny chrome wheels. It had an aggressive, but understated face. The profile was business as usual; sedanlike. But it was a coupe. And gracing the trunk was the large factory wing. And on the car's hindquarters were four circular tailights. It was a R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R. The fact that it was an R34 was only a small part of why it excited me so much. What really captured my interest was that there was an authentic, right hand drive, imported R34 right here in Arizona. Plus, being so rare in the US, it was the first one that I've seen. Sure, I occasionally see R35's puttering around, but I don't give a crap about those. But man, seeing that R34, it made my day. 👍

-> Um...

GT, parking like a boss.

^ I rest my case... :indiff:

Saw this bad dog today. Callaway C16. Spoke to the owner, said it puts out 652HP. Nice fat 335 tires out back...

Callaway.jpg

^ That is one nasty juicy Callaway! 👍

-> I used to see an ad of those Callaways on DuPont Registry and these babies cost 'round USD$90K-200K.

Okay....the only way I could've gotten pics myself of this thing is if it were parked. But it's one of those vehicles that when it passes you, you just go "WTF was that" and by the time you realize what it was, it's gone. But..luckily...there's a news article on it:

http://www.khq.com/global/story.asp?s=11979413

I have to say, that made my day. :)

EDIT: For those who don't want to click on the link, here's a picture of the car boat:

It's a '94 Le Baron with a fiberglass boat body on it.

Shall there be a horrible parkers thread coming up soon? I was actually thinking of that, after seeing how many awful parking jobs I've seen at my work... Had no pictures to start one off though. One common way of finding horrible parkers here, is at the local park, where soccer moms really enjoy parking ON sidewalks. Just an idea. >_>

When you see expensive cars parked liked that it's not that the driver can not park, but of fear of getting scratched or door-hitting, they park it so the neighbor parker needs to hold it's distance.

When I park at a public parking I usually take 2 spots. People hitting their door against an other car are the asshats.

When my car came fresh out with a new paintjob it took 2 days to dent it on a parking.
So I rather take 2 spots, get weird looks, a ticket or whatever but my car is dentfree since.

On the callaway pic, it is pretty obvious that he feared the mighty Rabbit

In my opinion there is no excuse. You are just as likely to have someone mess up your car in anger for for parking like a moron or have some idiot try and fit there car in the space anyways and have even more risk of damage to your car. If someone is to worried about there car to park it properly then they shouldn't drive it.

Amen to that.

Saw this Focus RS a few days ago:

And a couple of shots of a Nissan GTR:

Now that's a nice one - I was taking pictures of this magnificent GTR and suddenly its owner decided to have a bit of fun on my cost - he turned on the car's alarm. Then he laughed with his 2 awsum palz at me, standing 20 meters away. I don't know if his mind is so small that he doesn't understand someone taking pictures of half-a-million (in Polish currency) worth car, and I don't care really. But the way he treated me was just mean, and he really p****d me off. What do you guys think about that?

I swear, if he was alone back then, someone would have to sweep him of the sidewalk.

Kick a dent in it and run

Good one:p

You should hear them laughing, it was 'Bahaha, look at this poor douchebag!' way. And I did walk away, ignoring it. But I'm irascible, so someone thinking he/she's one step higher than me won't get past me that easily ;p

Guess you just met the wrong kind of rich people that wanted to show off, I'd be honored if someone took that much interest in my car. Hasn't happened so far :p

Haven't seen a GT-R in the wild, but I know there is one around... a matter of time.

A lot of people ask to take pictures of my fathers car, and often they like talking to him about it as well. He said he likes it, it makes him feel better about the car he bought.

On the topic of parking. I always parked my MazdaSpeed 3 sideways and way away from everyone else. Before I did that, I once came out of the grocery store with a massive Toyota Tundra half on top of the hood. Said he didn't see it and back into it. 4k in damage repairs for him. So there is a reason to it, yeah you may look like a douche. But I think it's absolutely ridiculous how some people treat their cars.

Another story about how people treat there cars, getting on a tangent. At a mcdonalds, this guy drove into our trailer hitch on our Nissan Armada. His bumper was stuck on the trailer hitch. The front bumper was over the trailer hitch. We were going to have a tow truck get it off since his car was less than a year old. Nope, the guy decided he would rather just rip the bumper off... wth.

I think I'm going to take pictures of any somewhat nice car now. Even if it's common to me others might think it's cool. I like the cars in the backgrounds of European pics because we don't see them here.

On the other hand, I did see this a while back at an intersection (long before I got on GTPlanet). Its a Pick up truck pulling what looks like a massive barrel of beer like its Oktoberfest or something. But this was in America.
photo-17.jpg

That looks like a giant promotional truck. But you don't know Deschutes Brewery? They do some great beer.

Hey now, you didn't HAVE to find a picture of a BMW with Washington plates on, let alone one that was bought in Bellevue. I drive a BMW and I promise I don't park like that.

👍 I think the Bugatti is a Type 43 (Although it could be one of the better Teal replicas)
