My finds from yesterday and today.

Yesterday

Ford Fire Truck

Our neighborhood firetruck

BMW 1-Series Coupe

It had two poo-shoots.

Today

Mitsubishi Eclipse

Old Toyota Camry

Porsche 911 [993]

My third! :D I can't believe San Juan City has so much Porsches!

They don't call it motor city for nothing! Heck, even Clarkson takes his hat off to Detroit.

Not that there's a ton of money floating around for people to spend on fancy rides and awesome restorations (actually less than in most major American cities I'd guess). It's more a matter of priorities. Everybody around Detroit has some close connection to the industry, directly or through friends/family, and that makes for the most dedicated car culture probably in the world.

But still, for NISMO to capture the very best of it is just

Nismo, this car you spotted .....

IMG_0308.jpg

'68 Dodge Dart GTS (Son of a 🤬) that is one bad ass car. These things were factory equipped with either a 383 or a 440. It would be interesting to see if this was the real thing or a clone. The real thing would be an "S" code option.

Killer spot 👍 Keep up the great work at Woodward.

Weren't there also small-block GTSs? Or were those the Swingers?

A handful were small block equipped (340), but the main reasoning for the the GTS with a big block was for drag racing.

^Love the first shot, Rue!

Opel Omega

Opel Astra

Toyota Camry [XV40] USDM

Ford F150 SVT Raptor

My first! :D

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX

Nissan Micra/March

Old BMW 5-series

Mercedes Benz G-Class

^:odd:

and yeah, Rue, nice job on the first one, love bamboo scaffolding! how high did it reach?

just going about my business today...

Torino GT, 1970?

no idea but looked great, too bad I didn't get a good shot of the front...

crappy shot, got surprised by this Pantera!

As always, thanks, what would we do without you. Was thinking Dart at first, but the ones I've seen have been earlier so this wasn't an exact match for anything I'd seen and positively ID'd before.

hrmm. My :odd: reply was not so much because of grammar/spelling, more that your post was not appropriate to the thread. Yes, great, you've seen all those cars before. No offense intended, but we don't really care. This thread is all about posting your pictures of the cars you've seen, not at all about telling us that you've seen the cars we've posted.

And to make this post more thread appropriate, I just caught a truly rare bird, a Renault Medallion, only sold in the US for a couple months before being rebadged as an Eagle Medallion, and sales were never great from what I can gather, so I don't know how many of them were ever around, let alone how many survive. All I know is, it's been AGES since I've seen a Renault badge.

Edit: may be an Alliance, on second thought... more than half a million of those made, so not so good. :(

It's funny, the things you take for granted when you have lived somewhere for long enough. I don't think the scaffolding was particularly high, but even the tallest buildings here are constructed using it. It is far lighter, cheaper, more flexible and stronger in wind than steel.

Bamboo Scaffolding by R-W-P (Rupert in HK), on Flickr

I have a date with an Aventador today :)

Rue, thats amazing. I'm sure its a secure structure but if i was in it and someone said "Hey, this building is made out of bamboo," I'd be out of there very quickly! Lol

yeah, that's gotta be 100ft off the ground where the photo starts, and then up to 250+. When I lived in Ecuador I saw this a lot, though not quite at this scale. Amazing, truly.

And, repost, but I love the reflection of the CGT in this image

Absolutelly an Alliance. Altough I don't know if they sold as well in the US as in Mexico. Those are very, VERY abundant over here.
