Maybe it's just me, but that Viper looks much like a Suzuki Cappucino, made up to look like a Viper.. something about it's proportions just doesn't seem right?

Looks like it was painted on by someone who was drunk.

Not sure if I really understand what you mean by that ;)

That aside, I think ST Fiestas (this generation) are one of the coolest hot hatches out there.

I am genuinely stunned and speechless, it fooled me completely until I compared that Viper with cars next to it. :scared:

Either that, or there's a gigantic Fiat 500 next to it.

I'm so intrigued by that "Viper" now, going to do some research. Perhaps it's a prototype and Chrysler are branching out into Kei cars? :)

Some stuff I've seen recently.

A lifted Hummer sporting a license plate reading 4X4SURE. Clever. :dopey:

Pretty sure that's a Mustang behind the suspicious white van.

Unrestored Beetle that's parked here every time I go by.

Not that Cavaliers are good spots, but it's pretty awesome to find someone with the same license plate as you. :dopey:

Glad to see the nice cars are coming out! Sadly it's still 20-30 degrees Fahrenheit here so not much is out. Also, BEEEEETLE!!! And what a coincidence with the Cavalier that has the same license plate as (your?) the Mini! Also, I believe the second picture and the car by that suspicious white van are both Mustangs. Also, what's the first picture? Maserati Gran Turismo? Also, that Viper is definitely a replica. Not sure why you'd make a replica of a Viper over, say, a Ford GT or something, but neat spot anyways!

The Mini is mom's car, though there's a possibility it could be mine, but I'm still mulling that over. I still get to drive it though. :dopey:
The first picture's a dark grey Gran Turismo.

From a while back.

:::

Driving down the highway, heading toward a car dealership - a speedbike passed the van. The glimpse I got allowed me to think it was a Ducati.

After that, we got to the dealership, and inside I was greeted by...

Not the wild one, but I'm sure it's close enough. Apologies if this should go in the Motorcycles forum.

(Ignore the normal Challenger you can see.)

Yeah it looks too small, with the roof too high. MX-5 in drag maybe?

Edit: Actually, now I'm not too sure.

Saw this guy from a block away. Saw the corner of the headlight, hoped it was a Dart but thought probably not, probably just a newer vw golf. Walked up to it and there it was. Pretty little thing IMO. Might not be that special, but I can't imagine there are a lot of these around. They should of called it the neon, looks just like one proportionally.

Wait, thats a fiesta st? Wow, the american version looks ALOT different. I thought that was a 2003-2004 ford focus, well, at least the american focus. :dunce:

What do you mean American version? The Fiesta ST is just the Fiesta ST, there are no country specific models of it. However I don't think this gen (5th gen) was sold in America, I'm pretty sure the earliest model to be sold in the States was the 2010 model (6th gen).

Oh, ok that makes more sense now.... For some reason i just assumed it was your current gen :dunce: But, the us and uk do have different models and different names for cars, so that was what I was thinking, that the model looked different. Sorry for the confusion.

Yeah you do sometimes get slightly different models and names, different markets and all that. No worries 👍

Unless I'm mistaken the Fusion is basically a Mondeo, which we obviously do get. And we are getting a Mustang soon according to Top Gear, but with a puny engine, a 2.0L or something like that. We don't get the others.

I'm not too keen on Fords, or American cars in general. European cars tend to be more refined, more civilised, better quality, more efficient etc. Basically better :sly:

+1 I'm not too keen on American cars either. Too big, thirsty, and unrefined. Give me a Golf or an Insignia over a Taurus or F150 any day.

Well, have you been in both us and europe fords, both of the same (or relatively close to the same) models? Not trying to start and all-out war, but you cant really say much (which is why im chosing my words so carefully :sly:) without knowing the other countries cars.

Also, @beeblebrox, the focus, fiesta, and c-max are basically identical in both europe and us, (except for sides of car, and other little things) and we get better mpg than you must think we do.

EDIT: You guys could get the mustang, because next years mustang is going to have a 4 cylinder with ecoboost in the line-up

re: the Viper I posted, the registration sticker had the vehicle listed as a 1999 (iirc) Dodge Viper, and declaring an incorrect make and model on registration forms is illegal here - if it was a Cappuccino or MX-5 dressed up to look like a Viper then the registration would, by law, have to say 'Suzuki Cappuccino' or 'Mazda Miata'. If it was a replica then I believe the model designation would have to be followed by 'replica' or a similar qualifier.

In short, the law dictates that it is indeed a real Viper :)

The photo is a wee bit misleading, I took it with my phone (which is a worthless pile of junk) and the perspective of the shot makes the thing look smaller than it actually was - it was very low but also quite wide and the bonnet was massively long (at least a third of the car's length!). I'm pretty sure the Fiat 500 to the right of shot was parked a good distance away from the fence too, much like the Santa Fe to the left. Guess you could say it's an optical illusion that the Viper looks "small".

Besides, I'm pretty sure it being LHD is a dead giveaway that it's an actual Viper

That viper is definitely genuine. It was driving along side me and it definitely had that V10 rumble and was quite loud.

Unless someone shoe horned a V10 into an MX5 or Suzuki.... and made it left hand drive.

And took off a windscreen wiper, etc.

That's something I only just noticed, actually - the right-hand wiper is absent for whatever reason although you can still see the assembly where it mounts to. The RT/10 bonnet also had me scratching my head for a bit as I thought it was a GTS (this spot was over a week ago, cut me some slack  ), but now that I think about it it may have been an RT/10 all along...

The roof looks detachable so it probably is an RT10.

I have seen 3 vipers now. One was 700hp with NOS, it was given to a high level employee of Microsoft by Bill Gates as a gift. I have photos of it somewhere. It used to be parked on the street in Mosgiel. The other was a silver and blue GTS, same body shape as the one you saw.
