Usually wouldn't be bothered by an Olds Intrigue, but the fact that this example was a Final 500 Edition is what caught my eye.

All Final 500 model Oldsmobiles got these extra badges and unique Dark Cherry Metallic Paint. Shame this example appears to be starting to rot away.

I didn't even know they made Final 500 Editions. Now I'm going to have to keep my eye out for any late-model Olds to see if they have the badges or not.

What's our stance on event parking lot sightings? They're not technically part of the event itself but they're not street spots either...

I’d say somewhat wild, because you don’t know what cars will be show cars or not. I post parking lot stuff for events if they have separate parking areas for “non show” cars.

Got a ride in my friend's Viper the other day. I'm not a big fan of his switch to black wheels, I think silver would have been better, but ... it's not my car! :p We only did a ~2mile loop around his neighborhood (Magnolia in Seattle), which has really bad concrete/asphalt, so not a great way to experience it. He knew every spot on the route that the front was going to scrape due to being so low, and he mostly slowed enough on those to avoid it. He gave it the beans a couple times when traffic cleared ahead of us, and the way the rear was squirming and raring to go was awesome! He said he only hit about 50% throttle and no more, otherwise in his words "we'd be dead now".

^^Those 2x4's were needed just to get out of the slanted driveway without tearing the front off. :D

Another guy I met recently has a bunch of classic cars. I've seen his C1 Vette before (no pic yet), but yesterday was the first time I saw his Cobra. I'm not sure how authentic it is, but I'll ask him next time.

I saw this Pontiac GTO when picking up a meal at Cracker Barrel.

I went to a Naval Air Museum and saw these. Note, I was there for a car show, but these were in the spectator area.

I don't know if this is a modification or these came in the factory like this, a Morris Mini Pickup.

That MG is some kind of wonderful, and Mini pickups were indeed a factory effort but I've never seen that sort of wood bed treatment.

EDIT: Uh right, I saw some more things. As usual, they're in thumbnail form. Just click on the images to make them bigger (for people that don't know).
This modded e46 M3 was on my college campus.

From the looks of it, this is my first sight of a Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk.
20181006_151438.jpg

It's been a while, but an Aston Martin DB9 Volante.

I barely got it, but an Audi R8 V10. My other issue is the car was painted gold. *facepalm*

I saw a rusty, old car at this shopping center, but this Mk.IV VW Golf R32 photobombed it.

Lastly, this Shelby Cobra Kit Car. I also saw a blue Audi S4 Avant after this, but a stupid Nissan Sentra photobombed my picture of that.

Yesterday as my car battery died unbeknownst to me, I took some pictures of some cars that passed through a nearby intersection.

Acura wagon. I don't ever see these, so this was quite cool to see.

tlWagon.PNG

Mitsubishi Lancer wagon. Same as above.

evoWwagon.PNG

Mercedes wagon. This I really only took a picture of because it was in the "Cars You Didn't Know Existed Until Today" thread and it was also a car I had never seen in real life (or just never thought to look for).

mercedesWagonThing.PNG

Saab Aerowagon. These and their Subaru counterpart are less rare than the Acura and Mitsubishi above, but still rare enough to warrant a picture I think. This was a particularly nice example, too.

I don't know if this is a Prelude or what?

This Range Rover looked electric, but I don't know if it is. I've never seen one like this before.

...and finally a Porsche that I have no idea the model. It had pop-up headlamps, a convertible top, and the back reminded me of a 924

Yes, the red Honda is a Prelude, and the mystery Porsche is a 968 convertible, the final version of the venerable 924/944 family.

Spotting is pretty much dead now, going to Chicago on Saturday then Detroit one more time on the 27th for a cars and coffee at M1 concourse then the season is done for me until the Detroit/Chicago auto shows.
