Thanks for the comments guys! I always get a warm, fuzzy feeling when I visit the DYSAGT thread  There are plenty of very talented photogs on this forum though and in this thread; exigeracer, Roo, Dac_xint and Cano instantly spring to mind.

I would love to do more of the types of shots above, as it combines my favourite areas of photography cars and street but it really has to be done during the day and I'm working. I'll do my best...

Mikes car, he's a client of my dads.

Epic, tops off on a February!
Such a mild winter we have here in Ontario this year. I swear we just went from autumn, skipped winter and we're just having a really long spring.

Someone has one of those at our school! He also owns an MR2 with some weird brown monster dangling from the rear bumper.

Morris Minors are and always will be super-cool! Definitely worthy of a place here.

Content: A 200mm prime lens on and this was the best angle I could get of a pretty interesting car. As I couldn't get anything better I took a couple of detail shots too, but left before car-park security took an interest.

As soon as I saw this, I knew I had to take a photo. Stupid phone camera set to 640x480 (with license plate censored just because I can):

It's sunny as heck and I've had some very productive car-spotting excursions lately, but I don't have any time to postpro the pics. Will see if I can do some stuff today. Recently found a pretty relevant abandoned car, the likes of which I had not seen in freaking years.

New camera, Rue? I thought you were a Nikon user. This picture is sharp as a really sharp thing, and I'm not at all surprised with that cam/lens combo!

Here's a pretty decent post. I think.

Yay, some activity!

I'm test-driving it with a view to buy at a very reasonable price. It's a whole different beast to what I'm used to and it's kinda like starting out all over again. I am 'stuck' with a prime 200mm F/2.8 lens at the moment, a great lens which is fantastic for sports and the like but not ideal for cramped back street photography in the dark! I have a couple of weeks to find my feet before deciding to go ahead and buy or not.

I did that for a long time and I am kicking myself now. It still has its place though, especially with moving subjects.

Ah I see. It must feel odd compared to what you are used to. Not a bad lens to be stuck with at all, although not massively versatile. It'll definitely feel like starting again seen as none of your Nikon fit lenses will fit the Canon. Quite a change!

As for activity, I'll see about going out tomorrow and seeing what I can find. It's damn cold though, and I have my own cold to go with it.

Fortunately all of my Nikon lenses are cheap as chips. With not much money wrapped up in them the switch to Canon should be easier should I decide to take the plunge.

On my way to school today, I saw my first ever Porsche. I don't know what model though and for some reason, I wasn't able to snap a pic of it despite being next to it at a stop light. I never knew there were Porsches in this part of the country. Also, I'm sure that we're not counting cars at a car show.

Cool! Was it a modern Porsche or a classic one? You just reminded me, I snapped this outside my office at lunchtime.

@NISMO: I think you've spotted the only stock Vega in the state.

Or at least close. We actually sold a '76 GT/auto a few years ago after getting it for free and making it run again (oh and spending $7 on a new belt) that was stock... But it was also insanely rotten underneath.

... I love weird connection issues.

That or it's server because while GTP was freaking out everything else was fine.

Brand-new Audi S3 just a few minutes ago on my way to shop. It was more blue than anything I've ever seen. And that sound...

No pics though, forgot to take my phone ;/ (not believable at all, I know)

first post in almost two months, nothing great, 0-5 deg C here today.

this is the one that got me started, and inspired me to hunt around a little. 1941 Ford (though the taillights look custom or something.)
