Other thread.

As for taking pictures quicker. Sometimes you just have to be ready at a moment's notice. Usually when walking around, I would have my camera in my pocket with my hand on the trigger ready to take a picture should something show up. And it helps to have a camera that can turn on and be ready to snap at any moment. The Sony Cybershot's are very quick to turn on. I would recommend one of those.

Does anybody have any tips on taking photos faster? I missed a Diablo and a California (the first Ferrari that I've ever seen) yesterday because I wasn't fast enough. What makes me even more angry is that you never get to see anything like that around here. Ever. Unless I go out of my way to go somewhere where there actually are nice cars I don't really see anything better than a Porsche. I was in shock all day yesterday because I saw them and I have no proof, which makes me so angry.

I have yet another question.

I have some pics I took back in October I think of some nice cars that were in a parade, would those go here or in the other thread?

I got a Canon SD1400IS and it turns on pretty quick, although it's getting pretty wore out so it's not as quick as it used to be. But as astrodude says, a fast camera is essential to being able to snag spots.

When I'm driving around I typically keep my camera on my lap or in the cup holder so I can grab it really quick if something comes up. I still miss quite a few car though, mainly because it just isn't safe to photograph them and drive.

Also take your camera off of Auto mode if you can, it slows the camera down while it tries to adjust to things. If the white balance is off a bit or it's a little under exposed it really won't make a huge difference. If you really think you need to adjust it run it though a photo program and make it look a tad better.

======

Just a couple from this afternoon/tonight.

Audi A8L with a W12 in it. Most of the A8's I see have the 4.2L V8 in them so this was kind of a cool spot.

And I'm not sure what this is, I'll wait for Cano

Unmistakably a 1960 Buick. I love how freaking dropped to the ground the thing is. Air suspension, no doubt. I'd also park it like that.

The camera that I have (FujiFilm FinePix Z800EXR) turns on relativity quickly, but, I lost the charger that I have for it while I was out-of-state a while back, and I won't be able to get it back until May. I'm this close to just buying a brand new charger for it...

Last time I checked I had it set to manual and I had it picture preview-less, so I could fire shots off one at a time.

Thanks for the replies, I'll remember to have whatever camera I'm using close at hand when I'm going somewhere.

California, my first one. I would have taken more pictures but i think the owner was walking up to it. Judging by the orange wife and the Ferrari jacket he had on....

Nice, I'm going to an exotic car show in a few weeks, hopefully they'll have one this year. There is also a guy on Ferrari Chat that lives in my area going to pick up his 458 Spider soon, hoping that will be there too.

Cool man, make sure you take loads of pictures, who knows what may turn up.

The nearest exotic car show to me is every week day in Bath, around rush hour. I've seen many an R8, 599s, 911s, Boxters the odd AC Cobra and the occasional Rolls Phantom, thats to name but a few. I haven't got much to do the end of this week so i may take a wander around with my camera.

Jesus Christ guys you're so damn lucky to spot all those rides...

There was a motor show in Poznan this weekend. Unfortunately, it's like 350 km from Warsaw where I live :grumpy:
Damn, why is nothing car-related happening in the capital??? I only have one occasion in a year to spot average-nice cars, at the beginning of December...

Anyway, here go my latest spots worth posting:

S55 AMG:

Some crappy Ferrari blocked by this magnificent scooter. (I thought I was gonna kill someone)

Old 6 Series?

Jai
Are AMG Mercs rare? I see loads daily.
I wouldn't say rare, not like there are only 500 made or anything :).

AMG is most 'common' around here, I might see 2-3 per week, after that the M-series and last the RS'es, quite few of those.

Edit: adding 1 car :p

That Cobra l posted a couple days back was interesting because it had Stalker on the back and GT500 C J on the side. I'm pretty sure they're just stickers and not a special edition but if someone could confirm that would be great.

Seen this later that day, nothing special.

Here's the Cobra I posted on the 13th.

Oh and sry for the poor quality.

Oh I almost forgot!

Old Mustang

There were so much of them! I just took these 2. The Mustang is the only one I recognized so didn't bother to photograph 'm all. I think there was an old American car show/meeting going on..

Interesting spot... Judging by the wheels, dual exhaust and body kit, and that doesn't quite look like an S55 AMG . If I recall correctly, the S55 had quad exhaust tips, and the rear bumper was slightly different. Those rims also don't look like AMG :dunce:.

Someone must've traded a '0' for '///AMG' ;)

I also think it ain't a 'real' AMG Mercedes. The AMG'd S-Class had quad pipes indded, and rims are also strangely small on that one... Rear bumper was slighlty different just as you say - it had two spaces carved at the bottom to 'fit' the exhausts.

Plus, AMG's cars were always a bit muscular, and recognizable at the first sight. Anyway, this one - most likely - had original AMG exhaust pipes, they had those awesome logos on them. Plus, I don't think I've ever seen an S55 AMG. I only recall S65s...

I spotted my first Audi RS4 '08 on my way to faculty. Man, that's quite a sight to behold:drool:

The S65 is the newer version of the S55.

1958 Cadillac Series 62 hardtop.

S63 and S65 are current offerings. The S65 being slightly better/more expensive, more horsepower and a bigger engine.
