Ok so the last few aren't that good, but they were cool to me

My mom had a 1982 Celica for the longest time. That was pretty cool, I don't think I have any pictures of it though. It looked similar to this body style but it was silver and black, she put some 300,000 miles on it before it died.

My dad had so many cool cars, I know he had a teal Olds 442, a 64 Impala SS, and at one point in time a 32 Ford coupe.

My dad's dad had a Ford Falcon Sprint, with a grizzly V8. Sadly it was not kept in the family :(

My dad used to have a Triumph Spitfire, in mint condtion.

Before my siblings & I came along, my parents used to have one of these.
My Dad still talks about how this thing could "turn on a sixpence"!

Love the "Gran Turismost!" description!

The only really cool car my parents have owned is an older Toyota Celica 2.0 GT. They only had it for a few months because they didn't realise how impractical it was for me and my brother when we were quite young.

My Dad, in his single times, owned a few other cars, like a turboed Mitsubishi Sigma (lots more info here).

Well, my dad has a Subaru SVX and a WRX right now. Use to also own a first gen Prelude.

My step mom had a RX-7 FC3.

And my actual mom had a the last model of the 300ZX they had over here, T-top model.

I'm sure if I asked my dad, he has owned some other interesting cars, considering he is nearly 70 and likes gadgets.

My dad never owned anything cool. He had an original VW Bettle until the late 70's where he started buying pickup trucks where he is today. My Mom on the other hand as had some great American muscle cars.

1970 Plymouth Superbird (was stolen 2 weeks after she got it) - looked exactly like this one: http://www.moparmusclemagazine.com/featuredvehicles/5117/
1969 Camaro SS396 - green with white racing stripes
1969 Chevelle SS396 - white with blue racing stripes

My Aunt bought the first generation FIRST DAY available white Trans Am and ON THE WAY HOME her new husband totalled it by flipping it several times and landing in a ditch. Totalled with less than 15 miles on it.

My dad had a white T/A GTA exactly like this one, with the 16" gold BBS rims:

gta2.jpg

(and no, he never had any mullet)

I had to endure our summer vacation trip (12+ hours drive) twice in the back of that thing. I was 12-13 years old at the time, my dad is 6'5" and his girlfriend 5'11". Oh, and we had luggage for two weeks on board. :banghead: Thankfully, we got to destination a bit faster than the other years. :D And it wasn't as bad as with his Jeep YJ anyways.

The coolest car he had that I drove is a yellow(:yuck:) New Beetle 1.8T:

2001-Volkswagen-Beetle-yellow-B-640.jpeg

Ugly car, but that thing was a blast to drive.

In the 80s, he had (according to him) the very first 200SX sold in Canada, silver like this one:
512as.jpg

Besides that he also had a modified YJ with a V8 and humongous tires, it was quite hard to get on board and it was as loud as a dozen of Harley-Davidsons. He also had an early 80s T/A and Z28 Camaro. The rest are either beaters, minivans or trucks.

My stepdad had a 1970 Baracuda exactly like this one. Salesman said it would do 140mph, when it didn't, he took it back, and they had to test it and tune it till it did 140 mph. Took then over a week. Funny stuff.

My dad had a '73 Bug. same color as this one....or thereabouts...

73bug.jpg

But, he riced it with a hood scoop (ON THE FRONT!!!) and rear wing. also had a shag-carpet headliner...

He's got a bit more sense now.

Mom's first was a Maverick.

jean_doll_77_maverick.jpg

dad's coolest, though, was a Golf II.

His was silver, non GTI, but it had a stick. sold it whin he started getting Chevy Trucks from his workplace

Let's see...My dad used to have an SVT Ford Contour, before getting rid of it for a Mini Cooper S. He now owns a Subaru Impreza WRX STi. :)

My grandad used to own one of these:
mark3-28i.jpg

God I miss that car. :( If I ever had the money, I'd snap one up (or a 280 Brooklands). :D :sly:

I can't find an exact picture, but my mum has a '97 Impreza estate with the 'Sport' package. Basically think of the WRX Sti without the hood scoops. :nervous:

Still, no turbo lag. :p

Mom had a 1962 Renault Dauphine back when it was 2 years old, Her and her 1st husband had a 1960 Chevry Impala with a 348 2 4 barrel, Then she married my dad and later had a 1st gen RX-7, later a Mercedes 560SL, and then a certain white 1992 Lexus SC300.

Dad, on the other hand, has only had 2 cool cars: when I was 5 he had a '62 Lincoln Convertible, and now he has a 2006 Charger R/T.

My dad has owned at least 14 Corvairs. His first new car was a 1979 Super Beetle Convertible (which is now my car). And after the Beetle, he bought a Mk 1 GTI.

My dad had a Chevy Corvair, and has insisted that it was Safe at Any Speed. ;)

He also bought a Subaru BRAT, and it’s sitting right now in front of our house, rusting to death.

Dad was a keen car owner back in his day, some of his little sports cars he had included:

Alfa Sud i think it was called.
Alfa GT Junior
MGB GT

and two nice ones.... Ford Capri 3.0 and a Datsun 240z in light blue. Right now he has a E46 BMW 3series which I like.

As for mum, coolest car she ever drove was either a Vauxhall Cavalier Turbo or a old shape Vectra V6

My dad had a thing for "imports" in the 1960's. He owned a Morgan for about 6 months. It was so small and yet so low to the ground that you could touch the pavement without opening the door when waiting at a stop light. It wasn't practical in the slightest, even for a couple that had no kids. he made a change to an old Austin Healy Sprite, which was more fun, but drew less looks.

He had a few other interesting cars, but nothing spectacular. He had a tiny yellow '75 Honda CVCC 3-door when we were all little, and even then we had some difficulty fitting 3-wide in the back. The story he tells me is that when he sold it in 1979, it was the most fuel-efficient car of it's day, and that he basically got more money than his asking price because two parties were very interested in buying his car!

Two Ford Mustang 5.0 GTs in the 1980's, followed by an Acura Integra GS-R (I learned to drive stick on that car). Since the mid-1990s, he's taken the practical route (base model 4-door Civics) for all his automotive choices. But he rides a Honda Valkyrie [sp?] on the weekends.

Darn, looking back on all this, I'm rather surprised I didn't choose to work for Honda.

GAH someone actually owned a BRAT??? I think I've seen 1 my entire life.

Pops had a '67 Chevelle Malibu SS that he worked on up until he married my mom. After the ring was on her finger though, she whipped him till he lost his balls n he sold it (thanks mom).
67e.jpg

Note: Not his actual car, his was a green color, but it looks like the same rims.

After one trip to Detroit with a friend, which was about 4 days long, he came home on a new set of tires and a bar jammed between the back seat and passenger seat to hold it up. 👍

Then he has the nerve to yell at me for going 10 km/h over the limit. :grumpy:

Dad:

1971(?) Plymouth Satellite Police Package:

Don't know the year, Oldsmobile Toronado:

1968 Chevrolet Camaro Coupe (origionally had a Camaro-327 and two-speed slushbox, now with 1967 Corvette-327 and 3-speed Turbo 400)

1988 Mustang GT:

Mom:

1974 Chevrolet Nova:

Grandparents (Dad):

1958 Chrysler 300D Convertable (his was actually white):

1960_Valiant_Sedan-white=mx=.jpg

1955 Chevrolet Bel-Air:

1959 Plymouth Fury (Golden Commando):

1989 Honda Prelude Si:

1968 Buick GS Stage 1:

...Thats all I can think of at the moment. Ohh, that Chrysler my Grandfather owned, yeah, its worth $70,000 and it was one of 640 built in 1958.

[edit by mod]: Made thumbnails. Please keep in mind that the majority of the U.S. (and world) still uses dial-up. ;)

My old man had an '81 Firebird (I think that's how my username came about...), which was the first car I have any memory of.

Also, his first car was a Buick Estate Wagon with a 455 V8. I wasn't around to see that one, but from what he told me it was very cool.

Old school VW Bus <--- coolest things on earth, never die.
Old school VW Bug <--- same thing
