DieHards TT + Race series​


This is a series for those of us who love this game, with its bugs and all, and intend to continue playing it. It will combine Time Attacks and Races every race meeting. Racing will be at a time convenient to all of us, which seems to be Sunday evenings 6pm GMT. We will kick off on Sunday 02/10/2011. The series is open to all and newcomers are welcome to join 👍


TIME ATTACK

1) The TT's will be with a GT1 car of your own choice, which you will use for the duration of the series
2) You can however use different cars if you wish
2) Following the TT's, we will do a head to head race with the same car
3) The above TT's and race will be on the same track
4) The track will change every week though

RACE

1) Following the above races, we will do a 3rd race, which is really an open agenda race
2) The choice of car and track will be chosen by the participants of this series, on a weekly rota basis
3) The participant has a free choice of car / upgrades / track
4) Due to the freezing issues, participants must be careful in choosing PI's more than 1900
4) All of us will use the same car and specs as specified by that weeks racer
5) This race does not necessarily have to be on the same track as the GT1 TT's and race

Points will be awarded for each race (so win all 3 and you leave with 75 points - but that aint gonna happen ):

Well, we've seen TT works...

The idea of all playing he same car is awesome whichever the category.

Unfortunately, for me, the tuning will make a HUGE difference.

This means I'm in even if handicapped :D

PS: You already knew I was in anyway :P

I think one of the most important things to gather more people is the race time. Still Sunday? Or another day, maybe an evening during the week since most, if not all, who will participate are Europeanites anyway...
 
Would it be possible for one of you guys to video one of these races, or any event where you are competing on-track together ?

THAT would be amazing to watch....especially for us amateurs. :lol:

He uses X360 so there is no way to cross play :/


I'm bidding Toshiba Camileo S20. Small pocket HD camera, not anything fancy but great enough to record some descend laps in the future. :)
 
Im in 👍 TT and race is a great idea, would people have the time to set-up and tune three cars a week tho? will the races be 10 laps again?
 
Yes please USSR.

I only use a Nikon Coolpix L22 pocket cam, and it produces great little videos.

I just put it on a chair in front of my TV, and press the button. :)
 
I think money is the bigger issue. I d have to sell all my other cars I dont desperately need anymore to afford 3 new cars with 1 GT1 in that every week. Or sell the new GT1 car everytime after the race. And since you lose all the tunes you d have to write em down... Hmm!
 
I think it's way much easier to use only one specific car for each week and set it for three different tracks. It's way much cheaper for sure, less money involved :)
 
Thank you for your feedback. I hear what you guys are saying and agree 3 different cars every week is a bit much (and the money issue as well).

How about we do the TT's and one 5 lap race with the same car and track? One tune and one track to master only. Skip the GT1 and Supercar races. That won't be too time consuming and allow people to pursue other interests.

Racing one car and track might also be easier to do during a weekday evening. What do you guys think? 💡
 
Or howzabout a TT + 5 lap race with the same car on the same track and then afterwards or on Sunday the same week a GT1 race at the same track? With a GT1 car of your liking, so that everybody just has to buy one.
 
How about doing a GT1 TT, GT1 race (same car each week) then a B class race (which changes car each week). So wk 1 silverstone GT1 TT, GT1 race, B class race. So we could use B class to run different cars each week. IT would be interesting to see if the person who won the GT1 TT wins the GT1 race. just a idea:tup:

I´m in as well - sounds interesting.
Especially if we also use cars from the "slower" classes (D/C/B/) as well - that will be interesting to see...

I don't have any money problems (4million+) and all gt1/3 cars so... err.. yeah, that :D

Are speedhunters and legends allowed for B class? I don't think they should as not everyone has them...

Anyway, GT1 TT and race will be OK. for 6 weeks (number of cars). As for the B class, I foresee to many GT-Rs :P

Like I said, anything goes. My only problem is tuning:crazy:
 
I would really prefer if everybody would use the same car in anything but the GT-Classes. If not, like Rommie said, there will be only GT-Rs anyway.

Hey, another maybe funny Idea: Howzabout each week another one of us participants decides where and what cars to race? Like first week Rommie, 2nd week the Steve, 3rd week Zeeco etc
 
No, B class we would all use the same car, but a different car each week like the 911s i really hope the GTRs dont show

If we just define the car and thats it we will all just go for MAXIMUM POWERRRRRRRRRR and end up with works tuned cars anyway.
