 I thought that - I knew Id have changed it already if I cud have
Shame on your for getting my hopes up :irked: !!!!

The only way to convert to the right speed unit for your region (Canadians are lumbered with mph and use km/h, we're lumbered with km/h and use mph) is to convert a file from another region using a Hex editor. You MUST have an X-port to do this.

I have two blank, region converted game saves (one for each) on my site, although I believe the Canada-destined one doesn't work and I'll have to redo it.

(and this is answered in "Look here before you ask" :D :D - but I don't mind. Gets me a few more site hits)

Heh...the pure black F1 was my third car in GT3...It's so special to me, and it's like a black ghost...:trouble:

ok - do I sense a little bit of copying yr perfect garage onto me spare card ???? Spose it'll save me a few years !!!

Am I being a bit cheeky ?? After all it must have taken you a whle to get the cars ?

Well you can take your..METRIC SYSTEM and stick it in your tailpipe!! WOOO...I'm all about the system of measurments that have no direct numerical relation but relate completly to the human body..
Inch = length from second thumb joint to tip of thump
Foot = Rounded Average foot size
Yard = rough length from your shoulder to your fingertips
Doesn't get any easier than that....you can keep you.."Measuring" STICKS!!!..I got my arm and my thumb

Can't wait until you get to the units of mass and volume that "relate completely to the human body" in your system... :D

BJ - Nope, but I'll copy you a blank mph game :D

HELL YES! You tell these commies what the American system is all about brotha! You are forgiven for hating Laguna. :D (click here if you didn't see that post yet)

Nice try... "American" system my arse. "Imperial" measurements followed you bloody colonials over on the Mayflower. And the correct name for the system of weights and measures is "Avoirdupois".

Yes, you're defending the honour of the French system. Well done.

 Followed by the human body lengths? So that means if you had a "dwarf" (someone about 1.5m tall) and a tall dude (about 2.0m tall) each foot/inch/yard would be different...

Not to mention the fact that the foot is based on the length of Louis XIV's foot (need to check the Louis, but I think I'm right), and the yard is based on the length of Henry VIII's arm. How terribly American.

:D

What is the conversion from kilograms to pounds? I never figured that one out...:O

Okay, so it's a tad more than double ***Memorises it*** :)

So the "standard" measuring system isn't American? Yes, I've heard all that about Louis' foot and arm thing, and frankly, I don't care. What other country of any stature still uses standard? Not any I can think of (sorry if I'm missing a really big country, no insult intended, I'm American, our knowledge about other countries is limited at best. though I think I'm better than most, at least I can find Spain on a map.)

Plain and simple, it's an American system now, no matter where it came from. That's the great thing about America, we take what's good from everyone else and mix it all together and call it ours. Yes, a lot of it is from Britain, we were British colonies, duh.

(Though, when using measurements in say... chemistry, I much prefer to use metric, I don't even KNOW how many inches to a yard.)

Actually, the US Standard measuring system IS American. The American volumes for a start are different to Imperial - and you won't have a CLUE what a stone is (mass... 14lbs).

12 inches - 1 foot
3 feet - 1 yard (so 36 inches - 1 yard)
1760 yards - 1 miles (so 5280 feet - 1 yard)

1 inch - 2.54cm
1 foot - 30.48cm
1 yard - 91.44cm (or 1 yard - 0.9144m)

1cm - 0.394 inches
1m - 39.37 inches
1m - 1.094 yards

Volumes and masses are a little complex, as Standard and Imperial, whilst using the same names, can be different.

However, 1kg = 2.204lbs, so 1 tonne (1000kg) = 2204lbs. 1 ton (2240lbs) = 1.016 tonnes.

Hope that helps. :D

Oh, and the UK, for the most part, still uses "Imperial" measurements. We have road signs in miles, we have products sold by pounds, half-pounds, quarter-pounds (4 ounces :D), our clothes are all measured in inches. And we'd be in G8, so another "country of any stature"...

UK, stature? 8-P kidding, UK is my second favorite country (and probably more influential in europe than the United States is...), and Prime Minister Blair is hella pimp. Man's got balls. Man backs up his allies. Good man.

lol, I was half joking about the yard thing, 12 in = foot, 3 feet = yard, 100 yards = football field, 5280 feet = mile, 1760 yards = mile, 17.6 football fields = mile

beyond that... iunno and it don't matter since we use metric in scientific calculations.

I just don't like KM cuz going 100 KMP is slower than hell (~60 MPH). Like... if I was driving down a highway someplace that uses KMP and it said 100KMP was the speed limit i'd think "hey, that seems pretty fast" and then i'm like, shiot this is only 60 mph.

And anyway, about converting miles to feet and such, and how it's harder than converting km to meters, what the hell does it matter if you can be driving down the road and convert the speed limit sign into a smaller unit? It don't. ("Yey! I got the GT-One race car to wheelie at 2,203,530,000 mm/h during my wheelie test." :D )

Actually, a football "pitch" can be 105 - 125 yards long and 65-75 yards wide.

But I guess you're talking about a "Gridiron"... Bleugh. :D

100m from tryline to tryline in a game of Rugby League...100m from goal to goal in "football". :)

Not neccesarily on the football front, the FIFA regulations state exactly what Famine said...
