im an audi le mans fan so i recently bought the r10 tdi, the diesel prototype, however it is lower on power than some of the other LMPs. but will it go farther? is that a feature of the game?

It would go farther on merit of having less horsepower.

Which is why I always detune my LMP cars when entering an endurance race.

The high rpm turbo gives me the torque I want, while the power limiter makes my power not too over the top.

The limiting factor is tires of course.

that doesnt quite answer my question , say for instance you drove a ford gt next to the r10 tdi at the same speed in as long a line as it takes, will the ridiculously inneficient gt run out of fuel before the highly efficient diesel r10? then, during an endurance race if you looked after your tires you could really stretch those pit stops.

but this only makes sense when you can run faster laps than AI.
Done 24H lemans when looked after tires i was slower than AI

but if i drive faster than AI theres only minimal tire/fuel save

8-9 laps with the mazda 787B racing softs (others useless really useless) [while save tires/fuel

fast stints 7 rounds

fuel difference between fast and "slow" stint was about~ 10 litre? barel? dont know^^
