Different handling in two-player mode?

Why is it that if I have an amazing car in sim mode, the car becomes hard to control in 2 player mode? This includes wheel spin and over steering. For example, doing power slides in a crx. Thanks!

when u are finished selecting ur car a option screen will come up, it will show ur tyre choices, transmission, and your driving aids. Most of the time the aids are set to off. So if u turn them on this will help your problems.

Also, simulation mode and arcade mode physics are slightly different. I remember "Zer0" posted a thread with a picture in regard to that.

I know what you mean, but I only get tire and trany selection.....so if the physics are different in the two modes there's no way to fix this problem?

ASM and TCS are both turned off for 2-player battle. Also you cannot use racing tires on non-race cars. Unless you tune your sim cars this same way, your car is not going to handle the same. In other words, your 800hp Viper turns into crap with no TCS and street tires. Even your 500hp STi Spec-C for that matter.

me and my Friends race quite alot and we found the only way to get around this is to test and set up all your cars with the tire choices you get in 2 player battle.

i dont drive with Traction controle or anti spin on so their not an issue. Though one of my Friends had to spend a week or so getting used to his spoon Integra with no Traction controle for battles.

if you want traction controle and such you both need to go in standard arcade choice cars, if one of you picks off memory card then they are set to OFF

Out of curiosity, I did a test today to look at this. I was driving a stock 330i (n2, no aids, DFP) at the Ring on both modes. I've spent ages with this car on simulation mode, and have managed an 8:28. You can feel the weight on the rear of the car as you turn into quick corners, and when you're making sudden direction changes you have to watch out for oversteer. Going into arcade mode, suddenly you don't have to be quite as careful with the back end, and the car glides along more smoothly. With a couple of laps on arcade mode, I only managed an 8:35. I think the grip and performance of the car is about the same in each mode, it's just that you're missing the finer details of car control on arcade mode. I think it's those details that I need to get the 8:28 that I got in sim mode.

Anyway, this has obviously been discussed before in other threads, but I just wanted to throw in my view....
