lol hahaha:D

is it up yet?, is it coming at the same time for all region's or is it a "scattered" release. I don't really wanna move my 360 at the moment lol. Yes i know, i'm slack, but ive got a mate coming over in a 1hr and a half and i don't want to be moving all around everywhere...

I recall reading somewhere that when the original game was first released in America, players thought Colin McRae was a fictional person like Lara Croft.

Good to see we're getting another installment of Colin McCrash Rally ...

What are you on about -Lara Croft isn't fictional...

I'm downloading it as I type, but I'm also typing up some work at the mo so I probably won't play it for an hour or more likely two.

awsome just got back from work(12:42am:() gonna grab my 360 now, while tea's cooking, ive only got a math's exam this afternoon at 1pm, so no school till then.So ive got 12hr's to have tea,(hopefully)play DIRT, sleep, play DIRT, breakfast, play DIRT, shower/get dressed, play DIRT, then run to school while doing my revision...fun:D

haha yea I see you online, mines at 85%.
Mines downloading funny, it's going fast, then very slow, then fast, then very slow. I downloaded the Forza 2 demo in less than 20 minutes, it's taken that long to get to 20% with this one.

Well I've just tried the Hillclimb in the Evo with the wheel and the steering is super sensitive, gonna take some getting used to. It starts off with 80% saturation but even at 100% it still feels too darty. Graphics are great, sound is good - haven't driven enough to see what the handling is like, at first it feels a bit over simplified but that's to be expected. Also, if anyone can find the option to use manual gears that would be great, as I get stuck in auto and can't find where to change it.

Similar impressions after one of each race. Controls are what you would expect from the series. Sounds good. Grass, plastic netting and cockpit view sounds are impressive in surround. Graphicly its great. Maybe the best yet.
I need sleep so ill have to spend more time with it tomorrow. Ill pick it up on ps3 when it releases so i can use a ffb wheel.(wonder how g25 support is going)

I'm going to be honest, it wasn't worth the hype. :(

It is quite nice for an arcade rally racer, but I was hoping for something with a little more realism to the handling of the cars. Like it's predecessors, the car's feel weightless, and trying to perform, what I would call, a typical rally drift is near impossible due to the over-finicky controls.

^^ you using the ms wheel? Maybe they are lazy and havint taken into account the acuracy difference between logitechs wheels and this across the platforms. Controller plays alot less sensitive than forza2 demo.
Yeah the handling needs some work. This is an earlier build isnt it? Like what the websites have been playing. Its an arcade racer so that wasnt really a huge concern for me. As long as its fun.
It still has that Never take your finger off the gas but tap the handbreak when aproaching a corner style of gameplay.
A pro mode with realistic handling would be nice. But then again ive read people not even being able to drift round one corner in forza 2 demo with a controler. It does seem weird that you make a game like this that has such a huge emphasis on physics but then you cant feel it in the car.

Tried out the demo this morning... the graphics are really good, and if they locked down the framerate (which they most likely will), this would be one of the best looking 360 titles.

Gameplay... it's a bit iffy. They need to improve the handling of the cars – they just seem as light as a feather. Otherwise it's good.

And the sound is really good as well.

man i love this especially incar view(looking to the rearview mirror when you press look back is a very nice touch:tup:), but im hating the auto:( every time you touch the handbrake coming to a corner it slams it in 1st, and you lose WAY to much speed. But the graphics are AMAZING!!! I want rod's 1000hp celica around pikes peak:D lol.

Oh yeah I will definetly be buying 2 copies of Dirt for sure. Heather and I have been loving the demo and spent several hours inproving our times on each track. Its more of an arcade feel but its still very very fun and reminds me a lot of Rallisport Challenge 2 and Toca 3 which is a good thing. 👍

Finally got to play this... I guess it's not as much as a dissappointment as F2. The physics don't seem realistic that's for sure. The buggies are the most fun though.

I dunno, seems fun to me. I'm not exactly looking for absolute, perfect realism though.

It's fun, the damage model is incredible. I'll be getting it for sure, but probably not on release day, I'll have Forza 2 then.

Interesting demo.

I'm not sure why they kept manual shifting out of the demo(?!) or i haven't found it...

Damage level is awesome, unfortunately, there are not a lot of physics... makes for stale driving. But the game is pretty fun anyhow.

I'll probably grab that game eventually. I'll have FM2 keeping me busy...

I may rent this for a week. I thought the tarmac course was fun, and the physics seemed to be good enough for that, but the hillclimb and CORR were just too simple. The only trick to the CORR is to watch that huge jump and try not to get spun out at the beginning. The hillclimb is just a straightforward drive that the AI apparently sucks at.

lol pretty much, but look at those graphics!!!:D

most people will buy it for there kid's etc just becouse of those gaphics.

it is a very fun game though and i'd say manual would make it alot more fun.

i will definetly hire it but i am still going to try and find an import tuner challenge going for less then $130 before i buy this.(missed out on itc and pgr3 for $60 a few night's ago when my internet crapped out:argh::()

i was thinking that last night, and i downloaded the pc demo lol:D

i want another next gen genki game, but from the kaido serie's.

The graphics are definitely pretty. Drifting was a bit twitchy, but I've never been that good at it anyway. And rally racing isn't really my cup o' tea. Neat demo to play, but probably won't bother with the full game. I only played it for a few minutes, though, I'll probably give it a bigger whirl later on, try more cars and tracks and such.

One thing that baffles me, and I almost hate to bring it up, is the Xbots on other forums saying how much better Dirt is than Motorstorm. Having played both, it's like comparing Metal Gear and Mario. I have to say I was quite pleased to see a NORMAL discussion going on here at GTP.. lol. And no, that was NOT an invitation to start comparing the two... apples and oranges. :) Dirt is a totally different style of racing. The only real similarity between the two is that they're both off-road racers.

Just a warning for PC gamers before they run to get it.

DiRT only supports Shader model 3 (SM3) video cards, so people like my self with X800XT video card can't run it unfortunately. If you are not sure try the demo before you buy.

Am I the only one who is tired of hearing Travis Pastrana? He won the rally event in the X Games because Colin (or was it Tommi?) rolled, and only lost by a couple seconds.
