Very very very very excited for this. Instantly purchased and am now downloading.

Is this DiRT 4 or another title altogether?

Yes and no. Read the release, they are going to patch in extra courses and modes in the future such as rallycross and hillclimbs.

Sort of PCars on gravel.

So this is sorta like an early access version DiRT 4 then? Annoying it isn't going to be on consoles though.

No, this is a return to a hardcore rally simulator. Sort-of spin-off, if you get what I mean.

DiRT 4 would be similar in physics to previous games and would look a lot better, for example.

Right. Hopefully we get some of the hardcore physics in DiRT 4 though.

Finally a proper rally game, it's been almost forever since Codemasters launched the last one.

I wish it came for consoles, though.
Well, since we have this it can't be long til DiRT 4 is announced

This is a really clever idea.

They now have this great platform on PC that they will continue to update with experimental features and content, allowing them to make awesome future all platform releases by ruling out what works and what doesn't. It also helps to keep the series relevant and alive during the long wait times between each official release. Not only that, they can take feedback of what the community really loves and capitalise on that specifically for their future games to come.

Yes! They can keep DiRt Rally going, keep updating it to the latest game engines and use it sort of like a test for content to add for future games! I see Codies vision in this game.

This is the best news I've seen i quite a while. PCARS, now this? Wow! I'm a huge rally fan! There are no games I look more forward to than good rally games, and this one could be it.

I hope it remains on PC (at least for a while, because that's where the sim crowd is)
I hope it remains a hardcore sim.
I hope hillclimb, raid and rallycross are the only other disciplines added.
I hope it remains as a DiRT series spin-off. DiRT 4 can be the console oriented more arcade title.

Bought and downloading now, I just cant resist a proper full on rally game from codemasters again. This better be epic, and it better bring back the nostalgia I have over Colic Mcrae Rally games; and other older more sim orientated rally games.

Gutted this isn't on consoles, graphics look last gen (might be bad enough my Laptop can run it  ) joking aside, release more content for this, polish up the graphics and release it a year or two from now on consoles, what a brilliant surprise. First good thing Codies have done for a while now

So basically this is the dirt that all real Dirt fans wanted?

It looks insanely fun, gotta get it the first chance I have.

Didn't even think before downloading this. Has Colin mcrae rally been reborn? Views later.

8gb download for those interested.

Mustn't be that much in the base game then, but they have a lot of DLC planned.
It's Early Access, I'd wager less than 1/5 (or hell 1/10) of the full game is in there right now. The main point is developing the game alongside the community, so if you people want a realistic rally sim let it be known NOW.
