Hey guys,

I do not have or played with the Prologue version (yet) but i was wondering if there are any kind of "dirt" effect on the cars. all the screenshots and videos i see are all crispy clean and such... not that its not great... but again, a little detail Forza did very well is to "dirty up" the cars after a couple of laps...

so i was wondering, does prologue support it? Any news on if it will? I presume it could be something similar to GT3 and 4 where the car loose their sparkle, but i'm really thinking more in the line of air dust, oil burn and all that other stuff that gets on the race cars.

Comments?

Good question - owning Motorstorm and having played/seen the DIRT demo, it would be nice to see some subtle effects in GT as well, from having deformable tracks on rally stages (and mud splatter on the cars) to having pigeons poo on you from a great height when racing around Trafalgar Square (one reason not to use a convertible car in a race around London's city centre! )

Ha Ha, yeah, that would be nice! Or billions of dead bugs on the front bumper and grill!
Or even Rabbits stupidly risking their life to cross the road (Only to get run down by a Ferrari, painting the race track red!).

It would at least make the car wash option useful. Instead of looking at your perfect car and thinking, hmm...this needs a wash.

well technically speaking, the car wash does help the car's aerodynamics (in the game at least) but anyways...

Overall, i think it gives character to the cars and the races, especially when you watch the replays afterwards.

Yeah, Race (from simbin) as that as well; you can actually use the wipers to clean the window some.

cool

the last simbin game I got was GTL, I just turn the surround sound and drive the cobra around.

I do think it would be a great addition to the GT games, but I can only see it happening if damage gets introduced.

I rather have no dirt than have Forzas weak and ill-detailed "dust/dirt effect" were the wheels dont even get dirty. If they do it they will do it right so im not concerned:tup:

I would love to see mud/dirt build up on these amazing cars that PD have produced, would add alot to the experience IMO.

My god dude... are you always this negative? ill-detailed? its freakin' Dirt! big deal if the wheels dont get dirty... they are spinning at 150 mph for god'sake. Good thing you're not in charge of any game development... nothing would ever get done under your charge!

He's not the only one sounding negative, LOL

Imagine this:

Dirt, parts and tyres!!!

Maybe on Playstation 4 it would look like that?

I'd say I expected that and even more from PS3, but it's far, far away. Specially when you see the image tearing down here and there, or choppiness when behind a couple of cars, or even when you are all alone in the last corners of Fuji. Choppiness everywhere.

What are you talking about? It doesnt look like dirt it looks like a big grey mist. I dont see anything negative about my comment. Maybe you shouldnt judge people youve never met because it sure seems like you think you know me.

PS: Brake dust wont fly off the wheels at 150mph or even 180mph. Arent you the guy that didnt know that JGTC cars sit on factory road car frames? If you were developing your own game it probably would be as detailed as Sega Rally or Juiced.

yea I believe that was from a totally different thread and I was not the only one throwing in little insults in fact there were some that were way worst than my little dunce. That was all in good fun though (cough):dunce:

lol.

Adding a bit of "race dust" is always a good thing... one aspect of Forza 2 that I hope makes its way into GT5. Then it'll be off to the car wash for a spin and an oil change. :)

Subtle things like dirt and brake dust build up is something I would like to see make it into GT5. Windows getting dirty would be a great touch now that we have an interior view.
