I keep trying but I just can't clap slowly enough. I'm genuinely, honestly surprised no one has mentioned chem trails yet. I was going to post a proper response but I know the type of person who believes this stuff, where everything is a conspiracy and there's evidence for this and evidence for that and anyone who says otherwise is a 'Re$eacher' (we in England prefer the term 'R£searcher'), and when you look closely, those who are providing the evidence are your common or garden David Icke types, i.e. absolutely out of their minds. These sorts of people would only really be happy living at the bottom of mine shafts because they've heard that man-made radio waves can give you cancer and it's all a big cover up, totally ignorant of the natural radiation that surrounds them which is many, many times stronger. And then when you try to tell them they're being totally irrational, you get what we've seen in this thread, just an endless stream of rhetoric which generally focuses on 'you're not answering my question' because they don't have any evidence to support their claims, just hearsay and 'research'. Look into any of it deeply enough, and I have, and it's often 'expert opinions' from an anonymous source or something ridiculous.

Yes I would.
Study the electromagnetic spectrum and you would learn that microwaves do nothing to you. Only ultraviolet light and above actually has a chance of giving you cancer.
Microwaves have less power than visible light so by your logic we all have cancer because the world has colour. And radio waves have less power then Microwaves.
Bluetooth is also below visible light.

Bad example on many levels, but particularly that word.
Sunlight peaks at 120W per square metre at the Earth's surface. A microwave oven runs five times that in one fifth the area - 25 times more powerful - and the internal surfaces are reflective of microwaves not absorptive, only what's inside the microwave absorbs that power. At microwave oven frequencies - 2.45GHz - the microwaves can penetrate an inch of skin, fat and muscle. You couldn't fit in a microwave oven, but any body part that could would probably survive about two minutes before sufficient cell death to render it unusable - you could easily kill a baby in that time as the dielectric constant (microwave ovens function by the dielectric effect) of cardiac tissue is ten times that of fat tissue and the heart is less than an inch from the surface... Microwave ovens - at higher energies - are used to kill laboratory animals very quickly in neurobiology experiments (to lock the brain chemistry in a conscious state equivalence).
You won't get cancer from it - microwaves are non-ionising - but they can still kill you. Recommended exposure limits are 1mW per square centimetre per hour, or less than standing out in the sunshine...

There are some people with hypersensitivity to electro magnetic fields.
They can't stand in populated area anymore because there is simply too much in the air (wifi's, gsm, lte, umts,...).
But that doesn't mean, it is wide spred or that it is lethal. I grant that it is a fairly new technology, but all after that are big hypothesis
If you think that it is the next killing epedemic, you can join Shemalana Night with his movie :the happening, for which he was "inspired" by the "unkknown" effects of electromagnatic fields/waves.
On the other side, I am not the one leaving my cell phone near my crotch all the time. Safe is safe.

This is what I mean by commenting on something you do not understand. PLEASE read up up on wireless emissions before you embarrass yourself.
The power is obviously a lot less in your cellphone. The problem lies when you repeatedly use your cellphone. The tissue around the area closest to the Emissions is like a sponge it will constantly absorb the radiation over time. Think of it like filling your plunged bath tub, Turn the water on a couple times a day, at first everything is OK but at some point it will overflow, well that is exactly what will happen to your tissue, at some point you will affect the DNA of the cell structure in the area most exposed!!! (Causing a Tumor) Got it?

You know what, you make a valid point. It's not just the Americans, this is a world wide problem. The only reason I used America is because the comments I disagreed with were mostly all from America. However, (when it comes to marketing) It is widely known that America has the most media influence over it's people.
You may think I am just ranting, However, I am just educating. Today you may brush the notion off, but one day (I hope this never happens) they may be removing a tumor out of your head and I guaranty that this Thread will be at the top of your thoughts.

The studies from the cellphone companies themselves admit that there will be a problem with prolonged use of these products. The question that they are ambiguously avoiding is, how long and how much will be considered danger's, the issue is not if it causes cancer/tumors they already know it does, they are trying to figure out how much use will it take to reach that point ( This should have been test and figured out before these products ever made it to the markets, and not have chosen the world to be used as there Ginny pigs). So anyone with any logic will sit back and except the fact that it is proven to be dangerous.

If this was an unknown it would be one thing, but it is fact, scientist have proven that with prolonged exposure, there will be affects, so the prof is all around you, we are dropping like files. The media takes this information and in a very systematic way presents it in a way to confuse you, whether this is a conspiracy or not I leave that up to your own thoughts (But consider what the industry is worth). The reason you keep it away from your crotch is the same reason some people refuse to. The Media does not present the facts in the proper way and with the words they choose they twist the truth of the findings. Imagine trying to separate people away from there cigarets with the same kind of confusion. I bet there would be a whole lot more people still smoking!!!

Microwaves are non-ionising - like longer wavelength radio waves and shorter wavelength light. They act - and cause biological tissue damage - through the dielectric effect, which, for the uninitiated, means they cause rotation in molecules that act as electric dipoles (like water, which is weakly positive at one end and weakly negative at the other), the rotation generating heat.
While Bluetooth and WLAN signals use the same S-band frequency that microwave ovens do - 2.4GHz - and the lower the microwave frequency the more penetrating the microwaves become, the maximum power permitted is between ten and a thousand million times lower than microwave ovens.
Given that microwaves can cause no cell damage beyond the dielectric effect, the heating caused by the dielectric effect is proportional to the power of the signal, the frequency of the microwaves, the distance from the source and the dielectric constant of the material, you couldn't possibly cause cancer with a Bluetooth headset and you're not likely to cause any damage whatesoever to the tissue surrounding your ear from even 50 consecutive normal lifetimes of use, or having your head wrapped in four hundred of them for a decade. And that'd only cause mild necrosis in the top layer of skin at worst.
The problem is that people see "radiation" and see Chernobyl - radiation is simply something moving outward from a single source; your home is heated by radiation... of heat from hot water in flat metal panels. They see "microwave" and see a magical box that makes things hot with invisible rays - and while the wavelengths used in phones and Bluetooth are the same as the ones in ovens, they are nine orders of magnitude higher in power and when you're talking about causing damage with EM, power is everything.
Then think they're scientists.

As a teenager who grew up with the "mobile phones will kill you" scares of the late 90s early 00s I am well versed on the matter.
The fact of the matter is that yes, theoretically there is a risk in exposing yourself to wireless emissions, but it's irrelevant compared to the risk of being in a road traffic accident, circulatory disease or a whole host of cancers that have nothing to do with wireless communication devices!
So lock your doors, eat a perfect and consistent diet and never, ever travel on the road. You might live longer, you probably won't.

Just because someone is stating research that agrees with you doesn't make you right or make me wrong, it just means you agree with one person and I agree with another, I'm just questioning the voracity of your researchers' claims; who are these people? Who paid them? Were the tests conducted in a scientific manner? Were there impartial witnesses? Until all of those questions can be answered the research you refer to is as good as looking something up on Wikipedia. Does the fact that I question research rather than accept it because it is being presented to me as research make me ignorant?
- I'm not disputing that radio waves do do harm, I'm not stupid, but the amount and extent of that harm is what I'm arguing. Of course prolonged use will cause tumours, but drinking too much water will kill you, eating too many bananas will kill you, eating too much red meat will kill you... The list goes on and on. Anything and everything will kill you if you have too much of it.
- There have been millions of people before you and I who have used mobile phones, computers, microwave ovens, flown in airplanes, worked in factories and so on who are either still alive or died from other causes. That is all the research you really need to know, in my opinion. Was that logical enough or do you really think I should worry about these things up to the point where I can't function as I have been in these past 25 death-free years of my life?
I'd like to see a bibliography to back up everything you've said so far, by the way, because I'm not happy to take your word for it as you apparently seem to be with the research that you've read.

Sony, Microsoft & Nintendo need to offer an Airplane Mode for those wanting to go wired (if that's an option to begin with...). Everyone else may ignore it if they want. But there should be a choice. Not like how it is now: wireless (bluetooth) is running by default, whether you use a wired controller or not. Hardware modifications to your console have to be made if you want wireless tech gone. It's all a bit ridiculous, isn't it? Today, there is no option to completely turn off wireless that runs in the background for wireless controllers; there is no "Airplane Mode" for those who wish to use it.

I got in a very severe clinical depression (in 2006 and relapsed in 2009) worrying about EM radiation/fields and electrical fields. My health was comprimised by worrying too much and not by the EM radiation/fields.
You are making it very hard on yourself thinking/living like that.
I use to have a standard keyboard. Now, since a month or so, I use a cordless keyboard (I have to because the standard keyboard is partly broken) and I don't mind anymore.
You do know that the natural radiation of the earth and the sun is sometimes much more powerful than some of the man made EM radiations.
Some types of EM frequencies are more harmful for the human body than others. The more powerful the energy, the more harmful these type of radiations are. Some of them can be blocked by a sheet of paper. Some of them by clothes. The further away from the source of the radiation, the less powerful and the less harmful they are.
E.g.: an electric kettle gives a lot of EM. But I you are about 2 and a half meters away from the kettle, the EM has dimished to zero.
How far do you sit from your PC? You do know that electrical (household) appliances give of EM (Electromagnetic radiation spectrum) radiation? So does your computer. If you have a desktop, you have to sit further than 2 meters from you PC for being outside the EM field created by you computer.
Don't go outside because natural daylight is radiation!
Every man made light source gives of radiation except the good old light bulb.
There is a direct correlation between ampère and radiation. An electric razor gives of a hugh amount of radiation, so don't shave or use a good old fashion razor blade.
Don't drive a car because you bath in electral fields or EM radiation
You do know that the PS3 itself gives of EM radiation. It's not only the bluetooth.
Like said before in this thread, every one is bathing in radiation every single day.
I can give you some advice. Use two-pole switches to switch off every electrical device in your house if you don't use it. It will also save you a lot on your electric bill.
Don't use electrical applainces in your bedroom. Don't use a cell phone too often.
Relax because you are doing more harm living/thinking like that.
Very important advice: go and see a doctor (professional help, psychiatrist) because you surely have a fobia. This is maybe hard to read and it is in no way intended as a pun or insult. I'm just trying to help.
To make you head spin even more. There are more danger to your health than radiation. If you don't eat organic food, you're are getting more poison inside your body than radiation. If you live in a city, you breathe in poison instead of clean air. If you use petro chemical products in your house your health is in danger due to the chemicals in these products.
Paint, glue, MDF, OSB, some platics, electronics, isolation, your bed matras, etc... all are contaminated with formaldehyde and other poisonous chemicals, which can/could cause lung and other cancers. Ask Famine, he'll know.
Stop thinking and living like that because you can't control everything and you will ruin your life.
The amount of time you will spend behind you PS3 is in no way a problem for you health!
Go buy a PS3 and enjoy it and your life.

BTW, I live only 4 km from a nuclear power plant and a facility where they store radioactive materials from Europe. I should be worried but I'm not. I use to play only half a kilometer from these nuclear reactors (we have 3) and I still pass these reactors and storage facilities within 100 meters almost every day.

Now I'm gonna talk about my experience If I may.
I never heard about EMF being danger. I always used cell phone, DECT phones, Wifi, and a XBOX 360 console.
One day, I went for an supposedly innocuous MRI, and I left the room with burns all over my body. I know that there are loads of people that do it and they never had any problem. I know some that have done it and they hadn't any problem. But it wasn't the case with me. I got visible burns, and the Drs said they didn't know what cause it. I told them that it was caused by the MRI, but they said it was impossible. Why? Because some of the Drs they are also radiologist, that's why.... there is too much money involved..
After this, I surfed the net, and read about how danger EMF radiation is. It took me 4 years to recover from the burns. Yes, as Kikie said, don't underestimate the healing power of the body
. I healed 100% But the danger is real. EMF radiation attacks your nervous system...Ok, I got obsessed with radiation, like Kikie, and bought some EMF meters. It is not good to be obsess with anything, but you have t have some precautions. I love to play, but it was impossible because the XBox 360 transmits radiation all the time.
Then I saw a video that said that if the PS3 controller was plugged via an USB cable it stopped transmitting blutooth radiation. I sold my XBOX, and bought a PS3. I did the expirience myself, and bingo! There is no radiation. So I don't understand why is still the need of disabling the blutooth antenna inside?!?!? Am I missing something here? Also does the same stands for the PS4?
The problem is that EMF radition is invisible. It has no smell. Console manufactors should allow people to choose. At least, they should allow users to save energy, because wireless devices spend too much electricity. It is stupid that something that is not in use, such as the XBOX 360, continues to transmit radiation. For me it is also strange that people don't use a wire controller if it eliminates the danger of EMF radiation. I mean, a cell phone is impossible to be wired, but a controller?!?!? What is the need of being wireless?!?!

The other day, I watch a movie on my PS3. I had a controller connected via the USB, but I forgot there was another one in the room not connected. I press that one first by mistake. After the end of the movie, I notice the wireless controller was on
So I was wondering, I read somewhere that bluetooth radiation is less harmufull, is that so? I used my meter after this and I noticed that there is more radiation coming from the front of the controller, and not so much from the back... The controller was not facing me, so there was less radiation.. is blutooth directional? Does it transmit less radiation if is closer to the console? Bluetooth is comparatively a low power wireless system, its effects should be minimal beyond a short distance. Having said that the PS3's controllers do have quite a range. If you are very concerned about this it's probably best to make sure it's wired at all times. I don't think the controller lowers it's transmission power the closer you are to the console.
I suspect more of the signal comes from the front of the controller because the aerial is aimed in that direction because the console is usually in front of it. Also the metal internal housings for the analogue sticks are probably also reducing some of the signal coming towards you.
I do agree that manufacturers should at least give people a choice. After all as you said, they have airplane mode on nearly everything else so why not things like this.

. When I connect the first controller to the PS3 I relaxed a bit, because I thought, the bluetooth was turned off completely. I got panic when I later saw that I could controller my PS3 with the spare one I had over the table. It was turned on because I accidentaly press the PS button on it... It still had some battery left There are so many EMF in the environment so why not minimizing it if we are at home, and we can use a USB cable?!?!? I mean, what difference does it makes to play wirelessly?
Anyway, I thought about buying a PS4. In fact the only reason I didn't was because of the wireless controls, and wifi, etc. Do you know if with the PS4 we can turn off BLuetooth this time?

I wouldn't know if you can disable the PS4's Bluetooth but maybe someone can chime in if they know more.
Interestingly though if you have a look at the newly released Xbox retro 'Duke' controller made by a 3rd party its wired only and cannot be used wirelessly at all.
That made me wonder if there are any PS wired only equivalents which might be something you could look in to. I don't know however if that also stops the Bluetooth at the console end.
