I have bought a PS5 and fanatec wheel and GT7 at a large price.

And i very much regret it now.

SONY are you listening?
Fanatec are you listening?

I have bought every playstation since PS1 but after this GT7 FIASCO i want to sell it all and go X-Box and Forza horizon.

Utterly disappointed.

I was going to originally buy a PS5, but decided to hold off on that since the game was cross-platform. Having seen the questionable state of the game and that it doesn't look much better on PS5 made me glad to have saved myself 500+ dollars.

What does Fanatec have to do with this?

I bought PS5 for the Demon's Souls remake in the first place, which is awesome, and for the other exclusives (even if a temporary ones). And some multiplayer games where I can't be bothered to deal with script/cheat engine kiddies from the PC versions.

Somewhat disappointed with GT7 so far. Good driving experience (just not enough of content and variety for the single player), mediocre at best the game aspect, terrible economy. I was also disappointed enough with GT5 so I completely skipped GT6 and GTS. The former was also released far too late into PS3's cycle, after PS4 was out already, so it not being a cross-gen title and the fact it did look like a GT5 1.1 completely killed my interest in it. And the latter is just not my kind of a game as I don't enjoy driving/racing online at all. I know they've added some single player content eventually, but at that point I wasn't interested in playing it anymore.

So no, I don't regret anything, although for me GT is "just another game". After being a gamer for over 3 decades I've just accepted the fact that series come and go, some stay, but not worth attention/money anymore, too. Kinda sad sometimes when your favorite ones turn out like that, or like the Final Fantasy series. And FF was THE game series for me through PS1 and PS2, and 13 (all 3 of them) and 15 were pretty bad, so pretty much 2 generations without a good game so far (don't have much hope for 16, but I'll check it out anyway).
But it is what it is.

I bought a PS5 mainly for GT7 but since it wasn't out when I got it I ended finding a bunch of PS4 and PS5 games that l enjoy playing. But if you only bought a PS5 to play GT7 on then yeah you wasted your money.

I hope OP didn't spend hundreds of dollars over MSRP for the PS5. I got mine at MSRP.

Feel the same m8 i am lucky i guess my T300 works on my pc and PlayStation but i stopped playing forza on pc and got a ps5 for gt7
after 2 months i am back playing old ps4 games and total war warhammer3 on pc :( what a let down 👇

If you bought the PS5 only for GT7, might be a painful way to drop $600 or whatever.

I bought the PS5 for many different games. Can't wait for God of War: Ragnarok.

Good news, OP, you could probably sell your PS5 and Fanatec stuff for a profit since they're both still on such short supply.

I do regret buying a second one just for GT7. Been collecting dust since I finished the menu books and licenses. I've been forced to grind ever since, on my main PS5 hooked up to a TV and controller.

I'm glad I didn't find a PS5 for GT7. My 2013 fat ps4 was more than enough for this shallow title.
I'm also glad I didn't buy a drive hub to use my G920 on ps4, especially with the recent gt7 update.

Now I can't wait to get an Xbox Series X for Forza Motorsport 8. I'll have fun again.

I'm glad I didn't get a PS5 and bought the XBOX series s instead.
Have you played FM7 on it by any chance? Are many people playing it online (A/S class lobbies)? My Xbox One is broken so I haven't played FM7 in a year or so

Honestly I've always been kind of confused how someone can justify dropping hundreds or thousands of dollars just to play a singular Gran Turismo game, and when it doesn't live up to their hype, they feel like what they paid for is now completely worthless like they got scammed or cheated.

The PS5 has dozens of excellent games to be played on it besides just Gran Turismo, and there are other driving games of excellent quality available to play too like ACC, Project CARS 2, Dirt Rally, the list goes on.

Why would anyone ever spend 500+ over the price of a game on a console (not including peripherals) just to play a singular title? I don't get it.

That also goes for literally any game franchise ever.

Erm, no. GT7 is the most fun I’ve had in a Gran Turismo since GT4. As a matter of fact I bought a PS5 at launch and sold it on after GT7 was delayed. Picked another up a few weeks before launch and have a great selection of titles to play (9 years worth of PS+ too!).

Given PS5 is in short supply. Anyone who has one could sell it for a healthy profit tomorrow. No need for regrets or for it to gather dust (if someone wants us to believe that).

I've played around 60 games on the PS5 in the 13 months I've had mine. I don't regret buying the PS5 but I regret buying GT7. Hopefully one day many months or years from now the game is in a good place but now isn't that time. I miss having a proper career mode. Needs far more events (or decent paying custom races) and drop the catch the rabbit nonsense.

Why does anyone spend $1,500 on a set of golf clubs just to play golf? Or on a set of hockey gear, just to play hockey? It’s a hobby. Racing is my hobby, and GT is my preferred racing game, so that’s where I spend my money.

I'm still waiting for a PS5. If any of you have a disc version in perfect condition, let me know.

I did buy an XBone and an X to play Forza games solely, but that got old too quick, so I'm done with that mess.

Hopefully you can get one soon. I got my PC just for iRacing too, it’s literally an iRacing console, I don’t even really use it as a PC otherwise, aside from watching YouTube sometimes.

I don't regret buying my PS5 at all, sure GT7 was a bigger reason for my purchase and sure it has its issues but as others have said,I've found a bunch of other games to enjoy meantime. :)

You can do only do one activity with a set of sports equipment. A console is incredibly versatile by comparison with hundreds of options to choose from in terms of entertainment. It’s that reason why I find it silly when people complain about wasting their money on a console based on their reception of just one title in a library of hundreds.

Fair enough, but it’s still a similar sized investment into a singular activity. For me, I don’t like to play any other games, I’ve tried all the other racing games, I just prefer GT and iR. And I have zero interest in any games outside of racing.

I have a friend who just bought one just to play warzone. I also have friends who bought PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4 and now PS5 just for Winning Eleven/PES or FIFA. They're the same kind of guys who buy a $3000 gaming PC to put 10,000 hours into League of Legends and nothing else.

The number of hours they play vs the amount they paid comes out to a bargain compared to myself, who pays 60-70 USD per game that only lasts 6-30 hours + the console.

i bought a ps5 for 670$
wheels for 400$
racing chair for 220$
gran turismo for 70$

i hop you feel my pain not to mention i have a powerful gaming pc so the ps5 is kinda useless to me i always buy playstaion consoles for gran turismo / god of war ( wich is now on pc ) / metal gear ( game director no longer making it )
