I'm not sure what happened and don't care to be privy to the details.

But, I'm seriously miffed that as we are approaching the big payoff for Mr Latte's project someone causes the updates to stop.

Mr Latte, I've been following your thread for some time and have found it a great source of information, and general, holy crap, is he really doing that!!! I for one will sorely miss the updates to the project.

Hopefully you still hang around the forums and enlighten us from time to time :sly:

To be able to go on and do projects/reviews/tests one has to have a reason to do this, some appreciation for his work.

What Latte is getting though is an accusation of being a Fanatec marketing guy, which is a nonsense since Latte also owns Thrustmaster and Logitech products as well and as we could have seen from the forums he is doing quite good comparison tests.

Fanatec recently came with very good products and we have been all over those products ever since they were first announced so it is not only Latte but most of us including me and I have no relation to Fanatec whatsoever except my pending preorder for CSRE.

Anyway, just respect the good and valuable members here that give advices to most of you and try not to be smart asses without having any facts to back up your words.

Agreed 100% with both of those posts.

This forum needs.to lighten the F up.
A few weeks ago, when the beta poll was up and running everyone was getting along great, seems just lately there has been way to much tension in here.

This is a great time to be a sim hardware fan with so much great product rolling out.

Edit: happy thanksgiving everyone.

Here's my advice to those involved with the pissing matches. Let it go, forgive and forget, and move on.

Happy Turkey Day to all! :)

P.S. That is some damn nice work that Latte is doing on his project(s). Keep it rolling! 👍

Just saw that as well. I've enjoyed that thread since I first started following it back when I found this sub-form.

I do hope you decide to open it back up later. Surely this isn't the end of Project R? You've given inspiration to so many people, including me. If it weren't for you, I probably wouldn't have a wheel, or a rig. Mr Latte, you've basically gotten me into Sim Racing. I owe the success of my thread because of you. You were a frequent poster, and you kept it alive. I also wouldn't be apart of team Red without you.

Your thread was a great entertainment, I do hope you decide to reopen it soon.

Cheers all. I didn't know about the Fanatec fanboy accusations. Seems a bit over the top to me.

The posts I've read of his, not just Project R, gave me the impression he gave fair, in depth and unbiased reviews and/or opinions. My view, ymmv.

A real shame, we do this for fun, people!

I think we should dedicate this thread to putting our words in for Mr Latte himself as well.

I also think anyone posting abusive messages should get reported from now on. We can't have anyone else decide to stop posting.

I saw when Latte locked Project R yesterday, I too was a bit disappointed as I like the updates and reviews. I have never known Latte to 'Push' anything as he supports just about any product in the tactile realm and has tested many of them and utilizes them all in his project. His three screen GT5 write up was nothing short of brilliant and to get them to sync in 3D really expresses his interest in the hobby.

I too was disappointed to see the thread is now locked. What disappointed me the most though was that the moderation staff didn't take action nearly soon enough in a thread that had devolved into a battle of personal opinions and very obvious attacks against a person's character, with little evidence to back it.

Project R is Mr. Latte's passion. He loves sharing his progress reports and showing off his purchases to the world of GTP. He won't resist the urge to keep doing what he loves, so be confident he will reopen the thread eventually.

I sure hope he continues with this. I for one was really looking toward the finish of his project.

Yeah... I don't think that's ever going to happen. Generally us sim racers feel like our cockpits are never completed and try to add new stuff every new chance/idea we get. I'm sure he feels the same way.

I started this thread as a way to express my disappointment with the closing of the Project R thread, and possibly get Mr Latte to open it back up!

I value his technical expertise and think not having his investigations into sim racing tech documented, is a loss for us all.

Pretty sure that's part of the GT Planet Terms of Use we all read and agreed to right? :sly:

Haha, yeah. I just wonder if someone did report it, but it just went unlooked? That argument was going on quite a while, and I'm sure someone had reported it.

I got the vibe from his post that he will stop posting all together. I don't want that to happen, as I've enjoyed his posts many times.

Totally agree with you, mine has been a WIP since last April, will update soon. :)

You nailed it my friend! My cockpit was destined for the curb before I reincarnated it with over $1000 worth of goodies. I think my $9 cup holder install has been invaluable to my game play!

I don't really get why Latte would close his thread after the almost 2 years, just cause of a battle with a couple of members. I don't know what happened but seriously how bad could an internet feud be? Really kind of silly to act in that way to close the thread, what the heck does that solve or teach? Just gives me the impression of a weak personality. Well, so much for my weekly routine of checking out the Project R status...

I'm sure his reasons are valid to him. I wasn't involved and would prefer not to pass judgement on his actions in this thread.

I'm as bummed as anyone about the thread being closed.

As Mr Latte said in his final post, "attack". These were not battles, they were unfair attacks against him, I cant speak for what may or may not have been said in PM but if I was him I would have done the same. Why bother it people can just turn around and treat you like crap?

Then why is it fair the other way around? and by the way mr latte has gone back and edited almost every post he made in that thread.

As I stated earlier in this thread, I hope mr Latte reopens his rig thread, would be nice to see him racing. :)

Amf he may have been a little harsh with you but he also made some valid points as well. We have spoken privately and you have heard my advice. You know thats not a dig or attack at you ;) so please no one else take it that way.

Latte, i typed you a huge pm in reply to your message then my phone locked up when i hit send. It doesnt show in my sent box so i doubt you got it. In short, you have my respect as well as many others here. I cant think of many other users who would get a thread dedicated to them. Also, dont worry about the favor i did for you. Pretty positive it would have been the same the other way.

Keep on keeping on my friend.

Latte takes internet too seriously (and "forces" his voice on people).
That's my oppinion after reading countless number of arguements in which he was involved.
