i was wondering what that little gauge is when you use the outer view. there are two little numbers that change one is your odometer. what is the other one.

who races with the outside view anymore, been that long I couldnt tell ya

and welcome to

One is your odometer, the other is your tripmeter it tells you how much miles/kilometres you have put on the car since the start of the race.

i thought that that could be it but sometimes it is soooooo much higher than the odometer that that can't be it. the odometer will say like 100 and the other one will say over 1000.

Just another bug in the system. GT3 was rushed, for an early release, so there are a couple of them.

Another bug example is in the Run & Setting. First use a car to go around the track once, then stop to view the replay that starts right away after stopping. Then restart a new lap, but don't go as fast as the first time, then stop again and listen carefully at the second replay. You will here the wind effect, and transmission noise, of your previous car moving ahead of the replay of the car you just used, but you will not see anything but the second car.

I hope GT4 dosen't have as many bugs, even though the rumor is Sony is pushing PD for the game. In order to make the Christmas sales bonanza of course.

Actually, the last digit on the tripmeter is "tenths"...

exactly, and also, your odometer doesn't start at zero at the beginning of every race, just the ripmeter.

it's like 100.0 the last number just isn't a diff color like in a real car.

have to take ya word for it... never race outside view :)

Yeah, one of them tells you how many ks you've done in the race, the other the total...isn't it?

Nobody does ... except Famine. I don't understand how anybody could do well staring at the roof of the car.

I don't either.

You forgot me!:D

What do you say at the possibility that GT4 might not have the "Bumber Cam" field of view? It might have the "Roof Cam" view instead.

I think the roof cam angle is much better than the bumper cam angle because you have something to aim with, the hood, and front fender. I hated the bumper cam angle because it was hard to tell where exactly the front of the car is on the track, and it was hard for me to point the vehicle in the proper direction when approaching a turn, especially when there was some oversteer involved. I think I would use the roof cam angle, if it is going to be in the game.

It's on the bumper cam view too. Also, they're not completely accurate. On a new car, at the end of a long race, one might have something like 2 more miles than the other. On a new car, they both start at zero, they should be the same at the end of the race. But they're not.

I don't use the chase view either, I use the bumper cam. But the view that I wish was on the game is from the cockpit. If you go to the replay & change views on some of the F-1's, you can watch the race from some special views. I think it's the F090/S, on the music video setting, that has a cockpit view looking through the small windshield. And I think the F090/S also has a view looking out from just above the cockpit. You can even see the driver moving his hands on the steering wheel! 👍 The F094/H has a view looking just over the right shoulder of the driver too.

I fully agree, outside view isnt realistic enough for me....Inside all the way!

well bumper cam is just as unrealistic, what kind of wierdo drives looking from there bumper....oh and i use the roof cam, i drive better like that, ur all goofy :p

i often strap myself tro the bumper and use a joystick to control my car!
doesnt everybody???

:p

na i usually see people floating in the air about 2 metres behind there car using a joystick to drive :p

I use the outside view...It's too hard for me from the bumper cam, I lose perspective.
