Good news to hear that dlc's are coming !

But than again - another 1 series coupe ?? we've got 135i, 1Ti, 120i & 120d

I would rather see M1 :D classic race car !

In the end i would take whatever they are going to give me :)

Why not instead of repeats of cars we already have, at least have unique cars or fix stuff like the 2 Holden's having exactly the same stats.

Aston Martin DBR9 👍
Just came out before GT4 so wasn't surprised that it wasn't included, however it is now one of the top GT race cars of the world but for the Porsche GT3 RS. Plus its as sexy as hell!

And whilst thats on my wish list, I guess it'd be nice to come with the one-77 and the Aston Martin LMP1 race car

I don't care if they're paid.

Veyron, Supra RZ, AE86 are the ones i would like added to that list.

They will be premium, standard cars are taken from previous GT games, upscaled and a little work done on them. Any DLC cars will have to be done from scratch, so they'll be premium.

This isn't true though... just 1 example of each:
- Veyron is new car to GT series, standard
- DB9 was in GT4, premium

1. The Veyron was modeled for GT PSP, so it's not new.
2. There's 2 DB9's in GT5. The GT4 one, and the newer '06 one.

This is more than likely something that has nothing to do with the game itself and all to do with BMW's marketing. They want that car to be in the game to promote it and they might even have paid for it (as someone suggested) or put it in the contract as part of the deal for the licensing from the start.
GT has become far more than a game. This was already clear during GT5P updates (and all the new cars that were presented through it). It has become a promotion platform for car manufacturers.
This is something we should be very glad for, as I would suspect that this means most new DLC will be free (or cheap) as the maufacturers all want their cars to be played by all GT players.
Ofcourse these are all assumptions on my part...

edit: And ofcourse: Thanks OP for posting this!

I would imagine BMW are paying for it to be in the game. The 1 series is targeted at a younger audience, the kind of age that is playing games like GT5, on their expensive games consoles, with big TV's and expensive surround sound set-ups -- people with disposable income!

BMW will have identified GT as a viable way to promote the brand, and its youth orientated cars, hence so many 1 series' in the game, and the 1 series GT4 demo disc. 6 series buyers are typically in their 50's, not the bet demographic to target via computer games.

As it will have been paid for by BMW, I believe it will be free, but you will have to buy it from the BMW dealership.

And I would also trust the information, I assume it was SCOTT that originally posted it, and he's normally on the money.

I'm not sure I would pay for DLC cars for this game so soon after its been released. I already feel a little cheated by the lack of new cars and the copy and paste job on the standard cars. I love the game, but I feel forza 3 had a better car list from the start. I had no problem paying for car packs for it.

With as rushed as this game feels I don't want to feel like they were holding out content just to milk some more money out of me.

I doubt any profitable company would make DLC free. I mean some things will be free, but I predict a small fee of like a dollar a car and it goes straight into your garage.

Lexus had an IS-F made free for rFactor, BMW release a special version of GTR Evolution powered M3 Challenge game when the current M3 came out....so I think free is not impossible...

Aside from the lack of Premium car, what irks me more is for a 2010 game the car selection is still a few years old. Ferrari is just about the most up-to-date brand....

Way back when, BMW also had a Need for Speed PC title specific to them that was only available to buy at dealerships.

This is VERY COOL :) Not a mind bogglingly thrilling car to look at but I'm sure it'll be fun to toss around the ring.

I'll definitely get every car released, free or not. Fingers crossed for the new Stratos :D

LFS is (and has been for some time...maybe it's finally out, haven't played in a while) releasing a VW Scirocco, pretty sure that's going to be free to people with S2 licenses. Maybe even S1.

Scirocco (if it's EVER released :D ) will be part of the S3 package, along with Rockingham race track if i remember..

Oh you poor soul, paying for a game only to get 200+ "new" cars. Do yourself a favour, stay away from Mario Kart, I heard the car list is shocking.

I love gt5. I've logged more hours in gt games than any other series in my life. Cheated was the wrong word. Disappointed is what I meant. PD doesn't OWE me more cars.

I WOULD feel cheated if they were holding out cars that were ready by the launch of the game, just to sell them later.

p.s.
there are 167 "new" cars. 70 of which were in prologue. Haven't counted how many of those are essentially the same car. Nascars come to mind. There's at least 10 of those. And the identical 05 and 07 suzuki swift premium cars. (wonder if they spent the 6 months a piece modeling them...) My guess is 80ish new cars added in the 3 years since prologue. GT is about sim physics, elevator music, and an ABSURD amount of CARS. So yeah, sorry to annoy you for being disappointed.

I agreed with you, sometimes i think what PD being doing for this 6 years.

There are a lot of cars and ''new cars'' coming out every day, ok, let me make a point here, today Audi released a new Audi R18 to run Le Mans. Ok, its to soon to put in the game, i know, but thats not my point, the Audi R8 Le Mans is a standard car, the R10 is premium, but between R10 and R18 is the R15, why they don't put it in game, some actual racing cars, theres a lot of Lamborghinis, Ferraris, etc to put in game. So let's hope they listen to us!!

Rightfully so, the M6 is essentially the m5's uglier twin. Pointless really. Same goes for the X6 M.

I can't stand the M6. Don't know what the attraction is in that monster.

I saw an X6 M the other day on the road, I can see the desire with that one. Yeah it's weird but it has 'some' character and utility, at least.

I prefer the M6 because I hate sedans. :indiff:

Cars I would like to see:

250 gto
Audi Quattro WRC
Mark 2 Escort Rally

Im not sure about paying for cars but would probably pay for extra tracks. M6 not a fan of that either - bit pointless.

Not to bash GT5 or PD/Kaz but don't we have enough cars already.

Tracks are more welcome for me personal. That is, besides money issues, the most important reason that I didn't get GT5 when it came out. Second reason: I don't own a PS3. :p

It would have been more interesting if GT5 had a lot more real tracks. Maybe there will be as DLC in the near future. Let's hope.

Again, this is not a negative or insulting post towards GT5. It's just a personal statement.

I have to be careful because some members can be very uptight if I post something like this. Don't be, if you please (Poirot).

Will this car be a premium car or a standard car?

;)

I must be the only one who finds the most of the "real" tracks boring and substantially less fun to drive than the "fake" ones that PD created. Nurburgring North Loop, Sarthe, and Suzuka being the only exceptions that come to mind. The only real courses I'd pay for as DLC are actual WRC stages.

On topic: I don't see this particular car being a paid DLC, but I'm not holding Sony above offering individual cars for $1-2 in the future. This is the same company that charges $2.50 for a kart in ModNationRacers, or $1 for a costume in LBP. I'd imagine that PD has little to no say in how DLC is marketed once its been produced.
