DLC is ruining content of games

No doubt. But do you think Sony feels the same way? It's not exactly cheap for them to keep a studio running year after year like that with no income. We all know PD had to release the game long before it was finished, because Sony wanted the game out this generation of consoles. Kaz and his team will not get another 5-6 years from Sony to fiddle with the next game, without putting out some content Sony can sell in-between. Considering GT5 has sold more than 7 million copies, there's a big userbase out there. The conclusion is obvious. DLC will be a thing even if we like it or not.

People keep referring back to, "oh they need the money," or in your case of what you stated that they need money from DLC to keep the studio going. I highly doubt they need the money. Look at the games of the past from the mid 90's to the mid 00's, a high majority of game developers didn't need DLC or expansion packs to keep the business going.

The only games that didn't make use of expansion packs were those that were not popular enough to sell them!

Lol. Development cost are higher nowadays. We could Compared tetris Development cost with GT5 costs. Would be interessting.

Some use DLC in a Bad Way and some deliver great content.

GT use both. Pay for colours? Seriosly?

lol at these kids in the news topic, getting wet for a new track and a car you get free in the game but with a scion badge on it, man the average consumer doesn't know what they're doing

I never thought some form of free dlc would ever hurt.

Facepalm.

I don't mind the free car its the price tag for the track its more expensive in Australia.

Why are you not allowed a negative opinion of something because it's free?

I agree with this its almost as if we can't have an opinion in a place where its expected.

The fact it's free isn't really important. The problem is that it's being added to the premium roster as a new car, boosting the numbers. When they start advertising GT6 and it's 500 premium cars or whatever they won't have a footnote that says x number of cars are actually very similar and only 450 are unique models, will they?

It's the same issue over and over with PD, boosting the car list with similar cars so they can advertise big numbers without needing to model unique cars.

I think it's pathetic that people are complaining about something they get for free 👎
I think it's more hilarious when these last couple months were "Where is the DLC, PD?"

Something pops up under the radar relating toward DLC.

Community says: IT'S NOT GOOD ENOUGH.

After all this time 1 track and 1 car when other games churn out some good stuff me I'm not interested in this dlc doesn't mean its a bad one though.

To me it seems very disrespectful to complain about anything that is giving to me at no charge.

But that might be just the way I was brought up.

The problem with that being? Just because people ask for DLC doesn't mean they have to be happy with what they are given. Have you never really wanted something and then been disappointed when you finally got it?

Just stating my opinion:

For me it's kinda disappointing to see Twin Ring had to be as a DLC instead of being in the game, seeing they already had a model of the track from GT4. And I'm seriously in doubt whether to buy those DLCs. I did a calculation and found out that all the money I would use on 30 cars and 10 tracks can pay for GT6. So that's my plan. Wait for GT6, and if I'm convinced they will make the DLC stuff again, I'll wait and buy GT6 Spec 2.0 disc.

Exactly. Seems like nothing PD does will ever be good enough for some people. I'm happy to get a free car, others just see it as another chance to complain about something.

No. Never. If I want something, I want it for a reason. Like this DLC. I wanted something new to the game, and I got it.

If I want it, I want it. It doesn't disappoint me. It's not like they're tricking you.

👍 That's what the eyes are revealing.

It's true. Some people are just too busy looking at the negative side to see the positive one.

So you've never looked forward to a game then be disappointed when you get it? Never waited for the next album by your favourite band and then not like most of the songs? Never looked forward to a movie and not like it? Like I said, I find it very hard to believe and just because people longed for DLC it doesn't mean they have to be happy with what they are given.

Bitter, much?

No. Because I don't get high hopes for things such as those. It's like people were expecting everything ever posted in the DLC wishlist thread and were SO surprised and outraged that they didn't get it.

I can't believe everyone is even complaining about the free car. Like, it doesn't any sense whatsoever. They expected something WAY to high for their good IMO... And then theres Twin Ring Motegi... You know what? I'm gonna stop, no point...

I'm surprised that people are complaining that oh my god they are being negative against pds dlc almost like we are committing blasphemy please get real.

I know that was directed at me, and I'm ingoring it. Wasn't being a "FANBOY" you think I am. Its just funny seeing everyone is going crazy from all those months, but I can see why.

Oh by the way. DLC isn't ruining games. Its ruining peoples minds imo. (U_U)

Point 1 I wasn't directing it at you sorry to burst your bubble.

Point 2 I don't see anything in my post calling you a fan boy assumptions are an amazing thing.

My post was a general observation that people having an opinion that isn't directing praise at pd is not only frowned upon but discouraged.

Just because its a gt5 forum doesn't mean all feedback has to be positive.

Oh. My apologies. :guilty:

Bitter about what, exactly?

I doubt anyone was expecting that, they may have been hoping for something more than one track from GT4 and a rebadged car they already have though, no? Why are they not allowed to be disappointed, just because they asked for DLC?
