DLC is ruining content of games

Saw this and was thinking that an intelligent arguement would occur but it is a whinge fest regarding DLC..... I say more DLC is needed cause you can only race the same tracks over and over again I would like to see a DLC that changes the teirs up abit instead of getting gold in all teirs (which I have done apart enduros)

DLCs are a good way to keep interest into a game.

Yes this I agree with.

I enjoy the DLC. It seems to make the game last longer. If you really enjoy a game you can get more time out of it and if your bored with a game you dint have to buy it. I also agree its kind of like they are putting an arcade game in your living room. I saw something real scary. There is a kids game for xbox that you have to buy real life figures to use in the game. You set them on a sensor pad and the game recognises it and that is now ur character in the game. That is the only way to get them is to buy them at a store. Its a kids game to, they have a good racket. I admit though i would probly love if you had real lofe models for all your cars in GT, you could open the hood look at the interior take them to work lol,

Noob: Um, did you just say Kinectimals was "scary". Wow, you're easily frightened. Just for everyone who's xbox illiterate, you don't have to buy a stuffed kinectimal to have a character in the game and as far as I know there's no "sensor pad" for xbox or kinect (maybe theres a dance mat controller or something but that isn't really needed since kinect scans your every move). There are lots of animals in game to choose from. It's just an extra to have the stuffed toy you own come to life in the game. There's another toy company that has a code and a whole website where your stuffed toy comes to life and you can adopt it so this isn't really a Microsoft idea. Hopefully you don't come by one of those toys. I wouldn't want you to pee yourself out of sheer terror.

I agree with Noob. That whole concept is just scary. Gremlins anyone? :D

No sorry, its plastic figures its called "Ski Landers" and i ment scary as in the way they are marketing,

The best representation I've seen explaining DLC in current games.

You enjoy DLC because it makes you play the game longer? You obviously haven't been gaming for along time as most people that under stand what I'm saying. Back in the day after you were done with a game you put that game down and waited for the next one. Now people want more and this is destroying the quality of games today as we know it.

xnero: Your opinion is ridiculous and has NO basis in reality. In NO way has downloadable content ruined the quality of games. You have yet to show any proof of this irrational reasoning you seem to have. Game companies DO NOT make games of lesser quality just because they can make content later. Even if that were true it doesn't make the quality worse just a bit more expensive. Comparing prices with the quality of games now versus twenty years ago you easily see that even if a game were to cost 200 dollars today it would be a STEAL in comparison. Your point and opinion are both moot and nonsensical. Your statements are so ridiculous and inflammatory that it's obvious this was started as a troll thread and should be SHUT DOWN.

Funny how games are supposedly of "lesser quality" yet have millions of dollars thrown into their creation, real actors and deeper storytelling. Take a time machine back to the early 90's and play a few FPS and adventure games then come back so I can watch you beg to play even the worst game out this year because I guarantee even THAT game will destroy anything made back then. I had to live through it. I know.

Why is it now that games have day one DLC that's story related? Why is that games now make you pay for endings? Yet some people in this thread agree with what I'm saying. Just look at the Mona Lisa picture, that pretty much sums it up in terms of what I'm trying to say.

Paying for content that's already on your disk??? That's the kind of 🤬 that's made me never want to buy a Saints Row game ever again... :yuck::grumpy:

I get the feeling one day someone like they did so magnificantly on the Mario Kart series on the Wii, break into the GT5 files and allow you using some form.of codec to drive the DLC cars.

Personally I dont want this to happen, but I doubt it will due to the complexity of the game.

But hey they're adding to the game and making it better, because it's fun paying for something that you already own. You know what I'm saying bro?

Yes true.
Like Test Drive unlimited 2. The cars was on the disc because you get challanges using the dlc cars.
It really takes the p**s when we have to buy stuff that we allready bought

Don't worry DLC will reach is climax and people will decide if they want to continue buying something that's already on the disc.

Because the post says that I'm interested in the content, no you idiot. I'm trying to make a point, I don't care for the content. What I'm saying is the quality in video games is dropping due to DLC. Look at Forza for example. I don't want this great game to fall into that. I've been playing since GT1 and I've been impressed by all of them.

You pointed to the highest-rated racing franchise of the generation as an example of ruining a game?
:dunce:

GT needs to be more like Forza.

EDIT:
While we're at it.... GT5 offered 220+ "Premium" cars plus a pile of steamy last-gen leftovers. In contrast, FM3 offered almost twice that many Premium cars and retailed for the same price a year earlier, and then FM4 came along offering over twice as many Premium cars, again at the same price point. Turn 10 isn't nickle-and-diming people with DLC; they've earned that extra money.

Sign here if you think DLC is ruining the quality of games.

How is it RUINING the quality of the game? It makes the gamer better. Yeah, we can expect to see the DLC cars in the next installment of Gran Turismo but for a couple of dollars, we can get it now. Seriously, $5 to $10 is not a lot of money. I can make that much in less than half an hour at work.

Like all video games, Gran Turismo isn't what it used to be. Game developers today realize that having DLC will not only bring more revenue, but will also retain its customers. I'd be bored of GT5 by now if it weren't for the DLC. It's like a mini refresh button that I pay a couple bucks for each time.

I'm happy with the content I get from DLC and the developers are happy with my money. It's a win win situation in my opinion.

Is that a sarcastic remark?

Oh come on. Are you still serios?

Lets Get something right Between this to Games. I will leave Modes, Gameplay etc. Out and Look at the Content.

360: Forza 2-4 with Almost 600 p Cars
PS3: GT5 with over 200 p Cars

Notic: Forza has more Unique Cars. That means more work. And they have Real Sound.
GT has more detailed Cars with serial number,...
I believe GT cars are a Little Bit more detailed.

-> You Need 3 Games to earn Money for U and 600 Cars in High quality.

GT Used a "Between" Version to earn 15-35€.
Forza dont have a "Between" Version and Used the Onlinepass (all DLC are included in the Pack). The Pass Costs 15-35€ and you Get 60+ Cars.

-> Both have their Way to earn extra 15-35€ if the User bought it.

GT has no Onlinepass and deliver DLC for Money.
But they also delivered Updates with New Content and New function.

-> fair.

Read this and think about it pls. Some People should be more objectiv.

I Play GT more :)

What?

Ok you agree.

Why?

Because you can't say something against it :P

No, I can't comprehend it. It's hard to read with all the grammar errors, and all the line spacings and numbers. Not to mention the capitalization of letters that shouldn't be capitalized.

Ah ok. Sry my english is not good and my mobile phone made the capitalization.

Ok again. I will keep this short.

About 600 p cars in 3 Xbox 360 games [Forza]
Over 200 p cars in 1 PS3 game [GT]

Note:
Forza has more unique cars and realistic sound.
GT has slightly more detailed cars in my opinion

--> You need 3 games to earn money for you and 600 licensed high detailed cars.

Forza has an seasonpass to earn extra money. The pass costs about 15-30€ and include about 60 cars.

GT has a "between" Version to earn extra money. The Version was GT Prologue. It costs about 15-30€.

-> Both have their ways to earn extra 15-30€.

Turn10 released free DLC
PD released free DLC for example Gift cars.

Turn10 did not include new feature yet.
PD released new feature with few patches, SPEC2.0,...

Note: PD dont have a seasonpass and they sell DLC for money.
One car costs about 1€ [GT5]
One car costs about 0,40€ [Forza 4]

-> Fair. PD released updates, patches for free and now they sell the DLC.

Dammit, don't turn this into Forza vs GT5. We all know how that ends...

However, there is one thing we can take out of your post ch3ng, and that's the season pass.

How are you trying to prove me wrong? I can't understand what you're saying. You're just comparing the two based off your opinion.

PD can have some of the coin I don't pay to play online. DLC is good, in my opinion. Then again, I guess if you don't feel you're getting your money's worth, you could go back to ver. 1.00.

Some of the DLC we've been given for free. Isn't that good enough?

What I would agree with is it seems like publishers release games that aren't really done yet and then count on the player to keep updating it. If all the dlc had been locked on the disk, and I had to pay more to use it, that would seem unfair. That's not really the case with gt5 is it?

You use Forza to much as an example. Use Ridge Racer [Vita Version] to proof your Point.

I wanted to show you that Turn10,PD have both their ways to earn more money. So non of them is better or worse in terms of financial things.

We dont know. But what we know is that PD will include those cars in GT6. They just decrease the quality to fit it in the ps3.

The Consumer will Pay the Car twice.

How do you think they get the new cars in GT5? They come with the updates. They're on the game, you just have to pay to unlock them.

They're not on the disk, which is what you've been mainly complaining about.
Trying new arguements?
