DLC Tracks - When?

I think they are already in game. GT6 time checks every time you turn it on. If your XMB clock is wrong it tells you to fix it. I think it'll unlock the moment the game sees January 1st.
Maybe or maybe the only thing there right now is the icons and the message and the actual content will be part of a Jan 1 update along with the next batch of seasonals which they also indicated would be Jan 1

I would rather have free stuff then unlock them with in game credits, than having to buy 1.99 er so for a track.

I just hope that this time unlike GT5, the tracks will actually be free and have a purpose in game. Instead of just limiting the tracks to the online side, they should add some events to the career where we can play them.

maybe its easier for PD to bring old GT original tracks (like Seattle;Midfield;El capitan..) to GT6 than create a new one from A to Z

it is 1/1/14 in various parts of the world, and no one has it yet, almost assuredly an update, even if the event info is in v1.02

I am thinking that the DLC tracks will have actual events tied into them so you can use them offline. That is how it will get incorporated into the game. I think that maybe this months will be free because it is tied in to the x14. Then moving forward they will be priced accordingly. If you purchase them then you can also use them online like GT5.
To me at least this is how I would do it. Add on top of that say some track related or country related cars to the deal and it ties in rather nicely...... Just my thoughts on all of this. Regardless of how it is done I'm willing to pay for it if it is something I want. I did it all the time when I was a Forza player.

So lets hope it is an F1 based track this month

I'm just hoping that by "new track" they don't just mean variations on existing tracks. They do use those two phrases interchangeably after all.

No DLC track in December 2013 is OK as it is the month of the game release.
It should start in January. I would guess during the two last weeks as there will already be the Redbull thing on January 1st + seasonal events supposed to grant 6 millions credits

or 12Mil with 200% login bonus.

I think the 12 million was for both seasonal events. IE. the current 3 and the incoming 3 tomorrow or Wednesday.

EDIT:
Furthermore, a second bonus event is planned to be held from 2 January 2014 3:00AM GMT to 30 January 2014 3:00AM. Again, this event will allow you to win up to 6,000,000 credits when combined with the Consecutive Login Bonus, so if you participate in both special events you could earn up to 12,000,000 credits!

My point, There are 2 bonus events one with 6 Mil with bonus and 12 Mill for bonus.

“We don’t have a definite order yet of things, but, you know, January, February, March, April, May, etc., we have updates planned for each of those months, and there are actually more things too which we still can’t mention! [Laughs.]

“We do already have a big update coming in December, and in January there will probably be two big updates. And that’s because there’s a lot of things, such as the unveiling of new cars, which we have no control over.”

Taken from the post-release interview. I feel as though we will be getting DLC sometime this month.

January looks like it will be a very interesting month.
Judging from that interview, I'd say so. It's nice to see that they have updates planned for every month though. Even after January it seems as though we'll be getting loads of new content.

Don't be surprised that if the shockingly horrible sales continue, DLC is scaled back in favour of ramping up the development schedule for GT7. Sales are down dramatically relative to GT5 over the same time period and falling rapidly if we can trust the data from http://www.vgchartz.com/ There's no way they'll be throwing money at a failing title when the likely scapegoat will be that it was released on an old console and all else the same it would have done better on PS4. Of course probably all the DLC will be transferable to GT7 so you might see it anyway, but I expect they are in a real tizzy at this moment at PD/Sony and who knows what they'll do face with poor sales for the first time in franchise history.

I wouldn't call nearly 400,000 disc copies (as that chart doesn't include digital copies) in 1 week (as those numbers are from 14th December) and #1 in Europe to be 'poor sales.'

Most likely people are waiting to hear reviews on it before they spend $60 on junk like they did with GT5. With time, 'XL' editions, lower prices, etc. I doubt it will be anything 'disastrous'.

Has anyone mentioned the implementation of DLC Tracks in GT6? If the implementation is the same as it was in GT5, there's no reason at all to buy the DLC tracks. I.e. the tracks weren't added to career mode, you could freely drive them online without buying if you joined a hosted room, you could drive all of the Seasonals, etc.

Relative to previous releases those sales aren't poor, they're disastrous. I believe GT5 was over 5 Million by the end of December 2010. Perhaps Digital sales will make up some of that, but not 3+ Million units. If people are waiting for reviews then that's not going to help sales either. Huge chunks of the game are missing and some of the included parts aren't working all that well.
