OK here is how it goes.

You connect your PS2 to your PC (though your PS2 doesnt need to be connected to the TV) and it has to be plugged into a power source. You just have to click on the XPort/Sharkport icon on your desktop and it will run the program, where you can select your saves on your memory card to upload to your computer, and saves on your computer that you want to send to your memory card...

[EDIT] When you get your XPort/Sharkport it will have instructions dude, its really easy and pretty much self explainitory...

do i need a special plug to plug the ps2 into the computer, and also do i have to own the car with the engine to use the engine, like if i wanted to make a rear wheel drive civic spoon, but instead put a rb26dett in it, do i have to own a car with a rb26dett engine in it??

THe thing comes with the USB cable that connects it man. YOu dont have to buy any extra equipment and it pretty much explains itself. I had lots of questions before I got mine, but when I got it they were all answered (pretty self explainitory). You dont have to have the car in the garage to use parts from it. I'll post pics in a minute....

Here is a pic that will help you. This is a picture of the MKS Program (you use it on your PC). The Sharkport/Xport (which you can pick up at Best Buy or any other gamin store for around $30) allows you to upload your PS2 Memory Card files to your computer. So you can have pretty much use your computer as a memory card. You just need to upload your GT3 game data and open it in MKS. It will show the cars in your garage and the parts and settings that are on them

Now if you wanted to change a part, say the engine, you just have to right click on the cell that is designated for the engine (on the car you want to change engines) and select "Change Part". Then you will get a popup box listing all the engines from all the cars in the game (even the hidden cars). The MKS program comes with a manual, so you can figure everything else out from that, but you can always come to us for any help you might need :) ...
