Do the cars really get dirty?

I used a Nissan yellowhat for The 9hours endurence.. By The end og The race, you could barely see the yellow color due to dirt..

When my Psn was down I was using my Team Oreca Viper at the Indy 5 lapper to earn some dinero...Race after race after...etc. I put the car away after awhile and then took it to the Supercar seasonal for the Eifel race after I was back on-line and during the run-up to the start the Viper looked so dirty I could barely see the #91 on the side!
You'll really notice it during pit stops in the endurance races as well...Any of the races over 4hrs and it becomes quite noticeable...

Was this feature implemented when the game was first released??

I remember a huge thread with people saying the car wash is useless. s

i wish the damage and dirt stayed after a race.... also i wish tire wear stayed... this way we would need to replace tires after a few races

I wish tyre wear was off standard. and u need to put it to on. stupid rear tyres are all finished after 1,5 laps of nordschleife in a powerfull car.
(Race softs) other tyres got no grip :p

But ontopic now. My viper is overused and never washed , its got grey'ish stripes and marks all over the back and sides. looks more like damage than dirt.

Pics to prove it!

I never see my car stay dirty, yes they get scuffed and dented but next race the y are perfect again!

Only seem dirty in the car wash menu before wash, but not in garage or on track

Ive noticed it mostly on my Furai doing bpsec endurances, the back looks really dirty. Have not noticed as much on others.

They do.

The cars get really dirty by the end of a long race, but for whatever reason the dirt almost completely leaves the car when you leave the race.

I never pop for the 50cr at the car wash. I just give which ever Bob I’m P.O’d at the time a bucket and sponge and point him to the garage and say get after it. So far it hasn’t worked to well. My Bobs don’t change oil very well either. I give them crs to go buy oil at GT auto and they spend them all on beer before they get there. It’s to improve their driving technique.

Thats dirt? I thought that was the paint getting scraped off the car or from whatever it's impacting, like skidding?

I think so, too. One time, I was skidding over the guardrails next to the pits on Indy Speedway in my X2010 and it made the same result from the picture. I'm not sure if this is significant, but when I was skidding, the scratches/dirt/whatever came in really quick, like in a few seconds.

Well if that's paint being scraped off then how can a car wash fix that?

Prove it!

Show me a pic of a car that's dirty, then another pic of that same car on the starting grid for the next race still dirty!

What's that?.....can't find your camera?

they get dirty during long races, they just come right again once you finish... somehow ... magically. I would like the damage and dirt to remain after the race too and take something seriously fast and seriously dirty out online.
