Do you think schumacher was right to return to F1 or do you think it was a bad mistake

I am personally believe it's not good to return after you have retired.

sorry i mucked up on the poll the text should have read upto F1 and not more than that

I thought he was doing well until qualifying today. He said he had problems with the tyres, but so did everyone else, including Rosberg.

I think he can still get a couple of podiums, but in this car he's not going to get close to his past success. If Mercedes can pull something out for next season, he could well be in for another title race, in my opinion.

These polls are silly.

He shouldn't have returned, he is only ruining his own legend and putting himself in even more controversial incidents. Its made the sport interesting and exciting and probably added a few more watchers but for Schumacher its been a disaster so far.
I actually think he has gone beyond Mansell levels of low. At least Mansell had a somewhat glorious last win and packed it in early in 1995 before he was mocked even more.

Schumacher has shone a couple of times this year but he is not the same man he was, though he still has the same dirt to him as we saw today. I remember reading somewhere before the season started there were 20/1 odds on Schumacher to cause an incident which decides the WDC. It seems ever more likely after today, though he won't be the one in the fight for the championship.

Let Heidfeld drive, he deserves it far more than the old cheater. By the way, the poll question and answers don't really match up too well - which is yes and which is no? Surely it should be "Should Schumacher have stayed out of F1 and let another driver race?"

How dare he do what he loves to do. What a jerk.

Well yeah, if he's taking a seat which could be used far more effectively by other drivers, either new or experienced. And he was a bit of a menace to other drivers in Canada, some say dangerous I'd just say being far too defensive and showing little respect to anyone else.
At the start of this season people were wondering if the rookies would be star-struck and showing too much respect to Schumacher, but in fact the opposite has happened - Schumacher is showing no respect to rookies and fellow drivers.

It may have won him 7 titles but when he's driving a Mercedes thats just going to go backwards I think he's out of line pushing people off the track like that.

If he still has the ability and the drive to be a competitive racer, which I believe he has proven is true, and if someone wants him to drive for their team, what right has anyone to claim that he shouldn't do it? Whether he can reach the same peaks he did as a younger driver is irrelevant to that, I think. So I'm cool with it!

Schumacher has the right to do whatever he wants... and if Mercedes GP is crazy enough to sign him, that's their problem.

They already knew that a Nick/Nico combination would have been more ideal, but they made the conscious decision to take on Schumacher for purposes of buzz/publicity/marketing/whatever, and that's their boggle.

And Schumacher could have started better... Brawn GP had an odd couple in Button and Barrichelo last year, and that worked out well, with Barrichelo challenging for wins and points.

If the Merc GP were a better car, then we might complain about Schumacher. As it is... I don't see the pace.

I think McLaren is the big winner in the driver shuffle... they get Button, who's an arguably fantastic driver who still has many competitive years left in him.

Schumacher just needs to get his head around the new tyres. Once he's got it figured out, he should be fine. I very much doubt that Nick Heidfeld would be doing a better job than him.

We'll probably never know.

This race was all about tires... and rusty old Schumacher just wasn't able to manage his tires as well as his younger team-mate.

In other races, he has actually shown the raw pace to keep up with Nico in bits... but not consistently. Still... I think only the last quarter of this season will show us whether Schumacher has still got it or not... this is still a learning experience for the old dog. And he's got lots of new tricks to learn.
