I need a current event about this subject, but i can't seem to find any. The only ones I'm thinking of Fidel Castro, the only thing that pops up are about his surgery.
What do you (or the teacher) mean by “misused”? The government isn’t supposed to “use” people, like one would use a tool… Your example doesn’t really shed light on the subject either, since I don’t see the connection between Castro’s surgery and “misusing” people.
The government is there to enforce law, which is organized justice that protects your rights. I think what you need to look for are instances where the law has failed to protect your rights, or when the government has made changes to the law which are not true to the original definition of law. You could even base your story on the distribution between government funding. Do your schools suck? Do you wish they were funded better so they could facilitate your learning needs? What you need to look for would be a current event concerning this.
