I have been thinking and I don't think we have even seen a quarter of what the full game has for us! Here is what we have experienced so far:

1. Maybe 50 cars that have NOT been in a previous GT
2. Maybe 4 "new" (not in GT5P or GT4) tracks.
3. Crude damage which KY said is not the final damage
4. Trailer video of NASCAR and the WRC in their respective environments
5. New, updated physics
6. Minor interaction with the environment

What is "confirmed" to be in the game, but have not seen yet:

1. Day/Night
2. Weather
3. A better damage system with rollover
4. GT Mode *The dreaded license tests return!
5. More cars
6. More tracks
7. NASCAR/WRC Gameplay
8. Top Gear
9. Data Logger
10. 3D (Not sure if it will come with release)
11. More robust online system
12. Tire deformation (?)
13. Better sounds and smoke
14. Youtube Exporting
15. Hybrids and Electric vehicles
16. Major environmental interaction (?)
17. Online photo gallery containing a minimum of 8 MP photographs
18. Online video gallery, unsure of quality
19. Improved GTTV, including PSP export
20. Car customization

What we hope to be in the game:
1. Dynamic day/night and weather systems
2. Full on damage (totaling your car is likely)
3. Porsche (Won't be in this time)
4. Skidmarks and reverse lights (Unlikely)
5. Online track days
6. Livery Editor

What we do not know about
1. What the heck is going on in KY's head!!!
2. The release date

Here is what I can think of off of the top of my head. What do you guys think?

Well my opinion is that we see about 50% of full GT5:cool:

I think I want to play the damn game!!! xD

Well 50 cars we haven't seen in previous games seems a bit optimistic, i don't recall seeing that much until now , but i may be wrong.

I hope the 25% is also optimistic as a lot is to be confirmed, although i would settle right now for even less.;)

But that's just me being impatient......

Couldn't care less about the data-logger, it's like adding real bullets to a FPS...

I think 10%, IMO like previous GT tittles this new must have: the originals circuits(including rally), real circuits, NASCAR and WRC. GT mode, all the dealerships, that we know plus the newones(Ferrari, Bugatti, etc)and used car lot. Licences tests, the photo mode stages, GT Auto with customized rims and ailerons, plus new things and the online modes.

Sorry my english.

Basically we know what we will get lots of fun, cars and tracks. 100% certain of the high level what we will get.

What we saw:
The trailers = does not show a lot except for the rendering & extracts of tracks and cars according to me
The Demos (on Car shows and GT Academy) = Arcade TT (Pro and Std)
The National GT Academy Finals = Online races

I'd like to add to your list:
* Drifting
* Not clear how this online management console, private rooms, etc... will turn out in practice.
* The system to earn points
* Challenges you will need to pass to get bonus cars, to next level, ...
* Bonus cars
* Datalogger ghosts that might be provided

+ a good marketing will have more surprises

So yes, there will be still at least 75% of surprises in the details.

1. Day/Night
2. Weather
3. A better damage system with rollover
4. GT Mode
5. More cars
6. More tracks
7. NASCAR/WRC Gameplay
8. Top Gear
9. Data Logger
10. 3D
11. More robust online system
12. Tire deformation (?)
13. Better sounds and smoke

Has weather been confirmed at all? It's one of the most wanted features for me, but I still don't recall a confirmation for it. The last thing I remember is Kaz saying that they were working on it, and that if he didn't feel satisfied with the overall quality of the weather system he simply would not add it.

Prologue.. is about 10-15% of full game. What we seen from GT5 trailers, we only know another 5-10% of the game. Interviews does not count since words are not actions, so they might change at any point.
PD needs to give SOLID proof in order for us to even claim we've seen 25% of final game

PS yes, weather is confirmed. Both my Kaz and by press that interview him.

Ok I thought GT5 wouldn't have tire deformation, I'm a little relieved.

1. Day/Night
2. Weather
3. A better damage system with rollover
4. GT Mode
5. More cars
6. More Tracks
7. NASCAR/WRC Gameplay
8. Top Gear
9. Data Logger
10. 3D
11. More robust online system
12. Tire deformation (?)
13. Better sounds and smoke

Actually, GT5 will have the lowest track count (20) of any GT game (excluding prologue and GT HD that is)

^Are you a member of PD that can tell us what the cryptic 20 Locations and 70 Variations means?

Well, 20 locations can give you a somewhat broad spectrum as to what to expect. Now that may or may not mean exactly 20 different tracks (i.e. Location: Japan; Tracks: Tsukuba, Motegi, Suzuka, Fuji, etc.). Though i hope that we get more tracks via DLC, the 110+ from forza got pretty boring quite quickly, even with the addition of the Nurburgring GP short & long varients.

Also, 70 variations.. that might change because GT5 is on a delay.

Well, Tokyo R246 has a high probability of making it in.

Apart from that we know little to nothing. Yes there have been video's and pics but it wouldn't be the first time a car was shown in an "official" release and didn't make the game.

4. GT Mode I know im stubborn and most likely wrong, but i still believe i read that GT mode most likely is gonna be shorter and a lot more easy than what we are used to. For me that isnt GT mode - thats arcade mode. Still trying to find link :)
5. More cars
6. More tracks
7. NASCAR/WRC Gameplay
8. Top Gear
9. Data Logger
10. 3D Thats not confirmed for the GT5 release afaik. Im quite sure it was said as "GT5 3d will be released summertime when the 3d screens are launched" or something similar
11. More robust online system
12. Tire deformation (?)
13. Better sounds and smoke
Flags
And hours of fun and frustration hopefully

25% not even close - weve seen small bits from lots of different things. But we havent really got much info about most of the stuff. Its taken from beta versions, and as such, is possible to be changed. We have ofc seen a lot of the cars (in the old version) and same with tracks - but not in new.

We havent still seen official video of new lightning and gfx overall. Only handheld cams at the finals etc.

If we had seen 25% of the game by now? That would mean one could complete it in a few hours ;) I highly doubt that :scared:

yes, but im quite sure i read somewhere later that he wasn't sure how it would be. That it would be faster and more easy. But cant find the link :(

I meant GT mode as we know it. Should have put it in other words, my appolegies :)

Well it's listed features of GT mode sounds like GT mode is like we know it.

SCEE
GT Mode
- World Map
- My Garage
- Car Dealer
- Tuning Shop
- Championship Race
- License Test

Im a stubborn fool - still trying to find that link to the interview where he says its most likely going to be faster and more easy. That would ruin the whole point with GTmode... Ill' keep searching :D until then youre more than welcome to correct me again :)

I know the interview, he said it a couple times, but he didn't outright say GT5 would be like that. He stated how the world has become a mobile quick play behavoiur and he is considering that when they make their modes, he said thats the way they went with GT PSP. But he also said in other interviews GT5 will have the full features you expect in a full GT and players wont be dissapointed. He also said in one interview that GT PSP will allow you to collect cars and money around 10 times faster than GT5. He said a lot of things in a lot of interviews.

The official statement is the only 'official' thing we can go by, which has GT mode and all the usual features listed.

EDIT* Oh in another couple interviews he said GT5 will evolve the game mechanic to the next (so far unseen) level in driving games, what this means we don't know for sure but as I said, he says a lot of things.

^Are you a member of PD that can tell us what the cryptic 20 Locations and 70 Variations means?

I've never read this suggestion before on this forum... But what if the '20 world locations' actually refer to the locations on the 'GT World Map' as in GT4's world map.

We would end up with something like this:

Car related locations
1 my garage
2 car dealership
3 used car lot
4 tuning shop
5 GT auto / visual modification / livery editor

Practice / test locations
6 licence test
7 top gear test track
8 free run
9 photo mode
10 GT TV

Race locations
11 beginner's hall (sunday cup etc.)
12 professional hall
13 tuned hall
14 special conditions hall
15 drifting hall
16 endurance hall

Licenced race locations
17 nascar
18 supergt
19 wrc

Online races
20 online race

20 locations = 20 track areas

It took PD 1 year to do the new Tokyo track because of the detail. I don't think it's stretch to assume that 20+ tracks is all we are getting, considering there will be 2 new city tracks with the same level of detail needs. The regular tracks won't need as much work off course

that's where the track editor comes in :)

I don't agree with you about track number... On Laguna Seca or Spa you have just one layout!! So how you expect to make 70 layout on just 20 circuit????

Nah, I think we have seen around 10-15%. Remember have have only seen a few cars, tracks to what they have said what is going to be in the game. We've seen no weather yet. We've seen a picture of the Mercedes in the dark but does that really count for the Day/Night features as the track was Clubman Stage Route 5 as it have always been set at night time? Seen no customization yet, We've seen some slight damage.

I just wish PD wouldn't be so secretive :(

Here is something to consider... Here are the KNOWN tracks that are in the game that were NOT in a previous GT (to my knowledge).

Daytona Motor Speedway (2 variations)
Indianapolis Motor Speedway (2 variations)
Rally Toscana
Eiger Nordwand
London
Rome
Madrid
Top Gear Test Track

Here are the tracks that we know will be in the game that HAVE been in previous Gran Turismo titles

Fuji Raceway (2 Variations)
Suzuka Circuit (2 or 3 Variations)
High Speed Ring (2 variations [reverse])
Nurburgring
Tokyo R246
Special Stage Route 5
Tskuba
Le Mans (old footage) (2 variations)

Likely Tracks
Infineon (2 Variations)
Laguna Seca
Maybe Thunderhill (KY said he really likes the 3 Cal tracks and KY raced a 24 hour race there, so why wouldn't he put that knowledge to good use?)

One thing I just realized is that if Infineon and LS are in, that would be ALL of the "World Circuits" from GT4 would be in GT5, except for Twin Ring Motegi!!!

Considering the track list provided and if the California tracks aren't in (I would hate that, because I live literally ten miles from Infineon!) there would still be SIXTEEN confirmed tracks and twenty three variations (re: the Tracks/Variations Theory) . So there would be only FOUR unknown tracks and FIFTY more layouts? Seems unlikely.

Lets say, for the fun of reasoning, add all of the tracks that are in GT4/GTPSP

Real World Circuits
Valencia
Monaco
Twin Ring Motegi (3 Variations)

City Tracks
Seattle (I think there is a reverse circuit?)
Amalfi Coast
Citta di Aria
New York
Opera de Paris
Seoul

Driving Park
Test Track
Motorland
Beginner Track

Rally Tracks
Grand Canyon
Ice Arena
Swiss Alps
Chamonix
Cathedral Rocks (3 variations)
Tahiti Maze

Original Circuits
El Capitan
Grand Valley (2 Variations)
Trial Mountain
Midfield
Deep Forest
Apricot Hill
Autumn Ring (2 Variations)

That adds 26 tracks and 33 variations. Considering ideal circumstances, where all of those tracks would be in, there would be 41 confirmed tracks and 56 variations. That makes more sense... And PD obviously has the track data... What do you think?

I think from GT5P on, we've seen less than 10% of the content of the game. I think we're all just failing to realize how big a picture GT is once you get into GT mode and all of it's components. The online system and probably NASCAR/WRC series' should make the game feel even bigger than it is.

However, there will be a lot of people who will look past everything GT5 brings so they can be sorely disappointed by missing no-value-added features they'd never use or appreciate for more than a moment anyhow. You know who you are, poseurs. I won't be able to conjure the slightest hint of sympathy for them. I'll be busy driving many many delightful cars on many different tracks (locations? variations?) on into the sunset.

Rome was in GT2 and GT3 (not sure about GT1, I forget), but in a different variation that appears in the GT5 trailer.

I'm hoping, like probably all of you, the 20 locations refers to 20 countries, so i made a list of all the countries present in previous GT-games so far,

Japan
South Korea
Hong Kong ( China )
US
France
Italy
Switserland
Germany
Spain ( in Tourist Trophy )
Monaco
Tahiti
If Spa is indeed included, Belgium
UK

These are at least 13, if i'm not misstaken, different countries and with inclusion of WRC rally tracks and perhaps several yet unconfirmed tracks
it might not be such a far stretch after all, but maybe it's just wishfull thinking.;)

We still have to see tracks from South America, Middle East and Australia for example........
