Does anyone remember this car from GT1? Any idea why they've excluded this car from GT6? Would seem a relevant car to include in the Dodge Dealership. Although it is not a new concept car there is an emphasis on car manufacturers featuring their concept cars in Vision GT so it would be nice to see this car return to the series.

They've excluded it since GT3. Where have you been? The Concept Car, (originally called the Copperhead) was Chyrsler's first attempt at a cheaper, more accessible kid brother to the Viper. But, because the Copperhead name was already copyrighted, they couldn't use and the project soon failed. Then came the Firepower, which was the successor to the Copperhead with, once again, the intention on being a cheaper, more affordable version of the Viper. With a stupid name and ugly design, it failed to capture public support and failed. Fiat, now hopes to succeed where everyone else failed with their version of the affordable Viper, the Alfa Romeo 4C. (They also took the Viper platform and turned into the Alfa Romeo TZ3.) (Dodge also tried again with the Razor Concept. It also never saw the light of day.)

It was never renewed for series inclusion past the PSOne games, likely because it stopped being relevant. The whole awkward naming issue probably didn't help matters, and while it held a unique position in GT1 (being both the only car in regular play without a racing modification* and the only car you couldn't buy at the dealerships), in the real world it was more of a curiosity in Chrysler's history than anything truly important.

Of course, back then, PD took a much different attitude towards including last-gen assets when it came time to work on GT3...

* - it technically had a race mod in GT1, the purple/yellow prize car with vastly increased horsepower and, depending on game region, hilariously light weight. GT2 added the wing and made it an "LM Edition".

LoL - Yeah the power to weight ratio of the the purple/yellow prize car was just obscene :gtpflag:

So strange, I was thinking about this car earlier today.

If in any relation, the SRT Viper SRT10 Coupe '06 comes in "Copperhead Orange". Perhaps a nod to the Concept Car?

if it was featured in GT3 or GT4 then you would be making a valid point (the whole standard cars thing), but this car is from GT2!

pretty sure PD never ported any GT1 and GT2 cars into 6.

edit: ^ except for the Suzuki alto

All the legends from GT1 need to come back. The original FTO LM, the CR-X del sol LM, and the racing Concept Car. With the ****ed up weight preferably...they screwed the weight up on the Japanese Cerbera LM too.

Really, they all need to come back...

No, not more pixellated standard ghosts from 1997. PD should bring in new cars (as in 2013 --> ) and proper classic cars that are missing.

Yes!!!!!! I posted about this in the cars you would bring back thread! (But couldn't remember the name) I had it in purple and dominated hahaha

I'd pay to have it back just for the memories

Pfft, not with their actual models from GT1...and why not have them with the new and classic cars? Anything works for me if it's in the game, and it adds to the variety of the car list.

GT2 added the wing and made it an "LM Edition".
... Which is still probably my all-time favourite car from Gran Turismo. It cornered so well, you could beat LM cars which were worth four times as much. Although it could only be won as a prize car.

Here's the yellow one on SSR5

Insanity :D !!!

Man, I love the Cooperhead. I wish it could make a comeback. :nervous:

Hell yes!!!

It makes no sense why Polyphony Digital exclude cars and tracks from previous GT games. Surely each new game in the series should just add and build on content already created.

Because they have to fully Remodel them.

They've had years to remodel them! Maybe release them over time through DLC packs. I'm sure many people would love to see their old favourites return.

Takes time. Other things are on priority :p.

Yes the power to weight ratio was just insane! Similar to the TVR. I am sure I have a replay of this car in purple with gold wheels! Loved how unique the sound of this car was compared to all others in the game apart from the Castrol Supra.

I sorely miss this one. (And SSR11 as well, with the "chicane of death" in GT1, the GT3 version lacked it.)

This was one of my favorite cars to take on Apricot Hill. 👍

Sadly, many awesome cars were left out in future GT titles. :(
