Does anyone actually use the london track?

I can't see anything, there is no flow, it's just a set of 90 degree corners and the sweeping corners have no rhythm at all, it feels like you're fighting the flow, not going with it.

Yes Earth, there definately IS a flow, you shouldn't be fighting it. Like any course, finding that rhythm is the key.

I gave London the big miss at first, but since the current choice of online races are such crap I have been driving it a lot, and I have to say it is now definately one of my favorites. The last few days I've been doing the reverse, which if anthing requires even more finese to put in those clean fast laps.

Cars I'd recommend for a good blast thru London are the Evo X / Evo X Tuned and the RX7

London is an aquired taste, but well worth investing some time, because once it comes together and find yourself flying on the edge thru those narrow streets its absolutely awesome.

It's fun and thrilling for me because it's always blind and it's not easy to get good at. I really hope PD puts it back in PP online events. That way, we'd have some refuge from the idiots on Suzuka and Daytona.

I love the track and think it's a shame how there is only 1 race in the game and a restricted one at that on the track. I am yet to get into arcade mode until I unlock all the cars as racing and not earning money just feels hollow. Would have liked to have played spec 1 where high speed ring races were mostly London races.

I like the track but I can't see anything when I'm racing on it. IDK if it's my TV, but I have to turn the brightness all the way up to see.

I was pretty bummed out when they removed the London track from online. I was just getting good at it and having fun with it. I haven't played it much since, but I think I'll go back into it now that this thread has reminded me of it again.

I enjoy London reverse. So I do a few Time Trials at London reverse. Obviously London is a Time trial track, not a racing track. There isn't enough room or places to pass in online races.

it's one of my favourite tracks. I prefer driving around it and eiger than hsr and fuji.

London is a good track, whichever direction. But I agree with mad94d, time trials are really all you can do on it.

I'm another big London reverse fan, recently converted by Time Trials that had to be done for the Sixaxis Championship and WRS.

All the best

As someone who drives those streets on a motorbike on an almost daily basis I have to say that if they'd modelled the actual road surface you'd need a rally car to get round it in one piece.

Not a track I drive much on the game, but I do like it. Really difficult to get an entirely satisfying lap. I reckon the corners around Trafalgar Square are some of the most difficult in the game.

One of my favourite online events ever was the 500pp London race with the N3 tyres (I think it was). Somebody on GTP arranged racing in the BMW Z4 and it was brilliant fun, slidy as hell but great when you got it right.

You all make it seem so advanced and cool. I like it but it's not so cool. It only takes less than 1 minute to lap.

It's not a horrible track, but I think by the time GT5 comes around it would fit in best in the rally hall.

The only time ive ever driven here was in the offline events.

Its horrible, and the time trials have people bouncing off the walls to get the fastest time so not interested

Thank you for finding that! I had a search but couldn't find anything. Brings back some good memories that... I currently don't have my PS3 with me so haven't raced online for ages. Probably won't have the opportunity again until Summer. You'd organised some great races though, the Suzuki Swift and BMW Z4 really stood out though.

(Z4 London racing from this page onward)

Heh, well for future reference, its in my "created threads" history ;)

I have considered resurrecting the thread but I'm not so sure the interest will stay again as it waned quite quickly last time. The popularity of the event was mostly related to the old tuner showdowns, as people used my event as a practice for the showdowns, or at least I'm assuming thats why it got so popular anyway.

The Z4's were good, but I don't think we ever matched the Swift's at (then) PP550 Suzuka. Good times.

If I do revive the thread one day, I'd love to make a new event for Eiger using either the Swifts or something (maybe the Focus or Golf?).

I just can't get the hang of London reverse, but I love London standard. Barring the first 90 degree corner the rest of the track is fantastic. I love the Audi R8 around it, it is absolutely unstoppable. The series of corners once you get round the Trafalgar sweeper is exhilirating if you get your line right through them.
