Does anyone know how to report a player?

I even contacted sony (by email the other week) to find out what I had supposedly done wrong and they said they couldn't tell me, I'm a bit worried now to go back onto gt sport in case the psn player reports me again for nothing

Indeed, and sometimes I'll report someone who I think rammed me based on track position and SR dropping. Yeah, not scientific but I'm assuming their report flagging algorithm is smarter than me and would discard any possible false reporting. Keep in mind, the reporting system is probably being abused by every raging troll in the game so it has to be better than just an email dump into the community manager's in box.

I doubt anyone ever looks at the reports. Otherwise they would have to hire a full time position just to keep up with my observations during a marathon run on one of the notorious tracks :) It's likely nothing more than a statistic, a vague measure to tell if any tweaks to the penalty system alters the volume of reports coming in, ie improving on track behavior.

I always save the replay right at the finish (video feed) and ffwd through it before reporting anyone to make sure I have the right person.

The only way to get a response is to report someone through psn from the message thread with the offensive material. I did that once after getting solicited to a one on one paid porn video chat by a new account. That got me a response from Sony. No clue what to do about harassment in game though, blocking on psn, reporting in game are all ineffective. At least there is no voice chat and only a 2 minute window to type profanities while most people are too lazy to take the effort.

According to my personal feeling....

I consider Rage Quitting an absolutely childish behavior, also a coward behavior, and absolutely an unsporting posture (for some reason on real sports if a team leaves the field it will be very heavily penalized)

So.. I consider that all RAGE Quitting should be HEAVILY PENALIZED!!! If you´re a Man take like a Man... until the end... only cowards and cry babies leave the field while the game is on!!!

Here's my take on it. I get to play for an hour a day if I'm lucky. I enjoy playing the game and I relish good clean close races. However when there's a tool that's really out to get you, and it's ruining your night rather than waste a few minutes trying to overtake cleanly while being afraid the aforementioned tool will pull another dick move I'd rather quit than ruin my and some one else's race.

And while we're there I play a **** ton of Battlefield 1. I've never rage quit there. You know why? Because if I'm doing badly or someone has it out for me, it's my own skill to blame. Not so in GT sport. I've never quit a race when I've made a mistake all by my self. I have when some idiot has come across on the straight just to bump me into wall or onto the grass.

Childish and cowardice in an online game. Pfft.
 
The report feature in GT Sport is horribly abused... I vote to remove it from the game entirely. I personally haven’t been reported as far as I know... but I have a friend that has been temporarily banned for 3 days and 10 days for absolutely nothing... he is a quiet guy and as clean as it gets. He wins a lot and my guess is people are reporting him for winning and getting all their friends to do the same ‍♂️ horrible feature for a single player competitive online game... anyone that loses can report you because they’re mad you’re faster.
 
It would be nice if they issued warning points. With the capricious nature of reporting, I have zero idea if I'm one report way from a ban, or if I've received none. I had one person rage at me after I won, saying I was a such and such sandbagger and what my mother does for a living. I'm so far from a sandbagger it's not even funny.
 
I am none the wiser after reading this thread. I want to report a bad driver in tonight's nations cup( 18:00) I was deliberately run off track and had to pit because the car was undrivable, 18th position it left me in with no way of catching any others up.. totally ruined my race.

ou can only do that right after the finish of the race and without living the room... chhosing the player with the controller and the option "Report" ...

Thanks man, sadly it is too late for that now but will remember for future bad racers in FIA nations cup races..
 
Just join SNAIL/WRS etc. and forget this abortion of a Sport Mode fiasco. You will find respectful racing, skill based Divisions and you will have all incidents adjudicated by people that will actually communicate with you.

You know, like GT6 was before we all lost our collective minds and fell for this Sport Mode boondoggle..!

1st we did.nt fell we were thrown to it... with Gt6 servers disconection..
2nd snail is nt an USA group?? I m from Europe..for example..
3rd most races are during week ends... and those for me are only with my familly...

I am pretty sure I have had a number of reports of late due to nasty messages appearing in my PSN messages from other players
but there are not any official notifications that I know of for reporting a player mid game.

The only time I have ever had a notification back from Sony was for when I reported a players comments on a friends profile and
they banned said person from posting but if anyone is concerned about being reported you have the share option to record your
race on the PS4 so I always record all my daily races on the grounds that I do ever have an email/message asking about my
activities in game I can show my side of the footage.
 
So after 2 hours of research, I think the way to go is a combo of actions taken first by the players, then PD/ Sony:
1: Have a RELIABLE report function.
2: The report MUST have an attached replay.
3: Algorithm for a frequently reported player is investigated.
It IS a GAME, just sucks for those of us that bought the game to RACE.
