Does anyone use route X?

You can't have cars and karts on the track together.

I was with a group that had a fun 1-lap team race on route X... 2 drivers per team, one in an x2010 pushing the other driver in a Kart. It was terrific fun... compared to the boredom I normally find on that track.

That was a fun race, It was like a "sack race".

The way you do this is to get the karts on the track first, then unset the regulations to allow X1's.

You can, you just have to play with the room settings to enable it.

What you have to do is set the garage to karts only. Then the people that want/need the karts get in them. Once that's done, you change the garage back to unlimited. You can now get into your normal cars (in this case the X2011), and join the people already in their karts.

I just found it really difficult to control the cart, because every little touch from the X2010 gave me a 50mph boost... and not always straight ahead.

I sometimes use it to take pictures of fast moving objects and it's interesting to check the top speed of certain cars.

I have used it maybe 20 times, and nothing in the last month. Its almost useless unless you are into ovals or drag racing I guess.

glad i didnt bought it... :) not to expensive but that no racetrack!!! if bathurst come i will pay 20$ and maybe after that charade > mosport > road atlanta > watkins glen > pikes peak. thx PD

Here's a quick demo of how a Route X redbull room should be run. I chose km/h in the video as I managed to "break" the speedometer for nearly 7 seconds.

You can see how the system works. I fly out front and drag people with me to a higher top speed. Then, I hang back and let people past, in the meantime I alter my speed to make sure that I can connect the various groups of people making their way down the straight. Once I end up at the back, it's my turn to make it to the front of the pack and pull everyone along with me. It's a good system because everyone has to play their part, everyone helps the team, and everyone gets a shot at a top speed run. My actual speed in this run was 663mph (1068km/h)

About the 600mph claims that some people do not believe.

There is at least one or two rooms dedicated to hitting this speed, using a line of X2011's. Unfortunately those rooms have turned to garbage recently, so I will be hosting these again to raise the standard back to where it was. With just 5 or 6 people, speeds well in excess of 600mph/1000kmh can be achieved every single lap. With more players, the speed of sound should be in reach, but team work seems to fall apart far some reason in the current rooms, and we actually end up going slower.

The fastest current record I know of is 673mph. Here's a couple of short clips of someone getting very close to that speed.

Thats crazy man. You can't even get close to that in your McLaren.

Good luck in the WDC. Keep getting poles, I know you'll be winning races soon enough. You are the fastest driver in F1 after all

Awesome video Lewis. Showed how it should be done and not grinding down the rail lol

I use the SSRX quite a lot and the SSR7 too.
I use to drag with online friends once a week. Test top speed, test tunes and make races in arcade mode.

Same here. 👍 I don't use it as a circuit to race on, nor do I use it.

Having said that, comparing Route X to it's equivalent "Test Course" in GT4 and 3 I think the straights are much too long.

We normally use Route X for a bit of NASCAR drafting to see what we can get out of them, the results normally being a mass pile up on the turns.

I drove the entire thing in a stock Fiat 500 (the old one) yesterday. Took me almost 20 minutes to complete one full lap. I can't say I had fun but still interesting to see how an average speed around 90 km/h compares to the time spent driving the same distance on real life public roads.
