I haven't found much of any use for it yet. Maybe there is a lot of fun to be had and I am just missing something. Anyway, that's why I asked.

Well, dragsters can use the course to drag their rides, and test out acceleration, top speed, etc. But for me, I haven't found it much use yet.

I have personally used it for tuning the acceleration on the tunable WRS cars.

I did untill I realised how long it was.. it was fun a couple of times though.:)

I use it online regularly for draft races, pulling out the SL600 against a bunch of much lighter vehicles and still hitting well over 300mph in the draft. I also use it offline to run in my engines, using an Magnum ice cream stick to keep the R2 button pressed.

Several hours a night with x2011s going 600+ mph
Can i race with you? Me and some friends clocked 590 but not 600!

I haven't used the track much other than testing cars' acceleration capabilities when they are stock. I haven't used it for races or anything other than purely testing top speed. But to spice this thread up, check this guy out:

I might try it myself and see how I get on...

How on earth are you getting those speeds? I might be able to do 600 kmh but 600 mph is amazing.

Without hacking the game, no car in Gran Turismo 5 can exceed even 400 mph. If I am wrong and you own ANY car that can exceed 400 mph then please post a video all about it!

A good tune!

What's Route X ? Is it some sort of hair colouring?

*tempted to give a facepalm*

No, the full name is Special Stage Route X which is a track in GT5 that is available as DLC. It's a 30km test track that is used to test a cars top speed.

EDIT: I think a more appropriate title that isn't misleading would be "Does anyone still drive on Route X"?

No, not even the X2010 or X2011 can exceed even 350 mph so I don't see how 600 mph is remotely possible in GT5.

It can do 500 in 5th gear! You need to slipstream though!

About the 600mph claims that some people do not believe.

There is at least one or two rooms dedicated to hitting this speed, using a line of X2011's. Unfortunately those rooms have turned to garbage recently, so I will be hosting these again to raise the standard back to where it was. With just 5 or 6 people, speeds well in excess of 600mph/1000kmh can be achieved every single lap. With more players, the speed of sound should be in reach, but team work seems to fall apart far some reason in the current rooms, and we actually end up going slower.

The fastest current record I know of is 673mph. Here's a couple of short clips of someone getting very close to that speed.

I stand corrected. And if a X2010 / X2011 manages to hit 700 mph then PD will need to implement a sonic boom into this game.

The X2010/2011 is a fictional car that only exists in the game.

And I thank you! Lol

Not anymore, it was exciting for a few days because it was new, but it's boring now.

Route X looks SWEET. I dont have the DLC, just seen pics. Seems like a great car-tester and photo opportunity. :)
The photos people take using this track are amazing. I think the photos come out as realistic, if not more, than photos taken on Nurburgring. I'm glad they implemented Time Change into it. I think Weather would have been a waste, unless it was a test course like Complex String.

I was with a group that had a fun 1-lap team race on route X... 2 drivers per team, one in an x2010 pushing the other driver in a Kart. It was terrific fun... compared to the boredom I normally find on that track.
