.....And that's what I was expecting. Not exactly in that manner, but the inevitable.

I knew Orton is going to betray Bray but not in a way that RKO had to burn down the Wyatt Compound causing Bray to cry.

Now Orton should punt kick Wyatt to remind him that he's the same guy who punt kicked him years back.

I'm betting that miz and maryse are gonna interfere in the john Cena and bella mix tag match next week.

So the WWE Title match at WM is now a triple threat?!

Opening seg between Cena and Miz was great 👍

Smackdown had anit of a 50/50 ending. Didn't like the fact that they had to make bray wyatt cry as if he broke kaybefabe or hes turning face. Which would probably be better with orton as a heel because that act was how he would usually be as a heel. But I still certainly don't want underfacing reigns at mania i plead he faces somoa joe not undertaker

I'm not gonna hold out for a triple threat now that Harper won't likely be in it. :(

Meanwhile at NXT.....

Asuka vs Ember Moon for NXT Women's Championship, and Tag Team Triple Threat for the NXT Tag Team titles will tear down the house at NXT Takeover: Orlando.

I read this week that Asuka will be at a few Smackdown shows at the end of this month.

Jack Swagger was released by WWE yesterday, no real surprise as i don't think he was even drafted to anyone last year, last seen on TV I think at the end of last Summer, he was a good wrestler just wasn't booked very well imo...

So with Wrestlemania just 28 days away we have our last PPV tonight before the grand show on April 2nd, its Raw's Fastlane and here is the card.

Kick-Off Show

Rich Swann & Akira Tozawa v Brian Kendrick & Noam Dar

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nia Jax v Sasha Banks

Raw Tag Team Championship
Gallows & Anderson (c) v Enzo Amore & Big Cass

Samoa Joe v Sami Zayn

Cruiser-weight Championship
Neville (c) v Jack Gallagher

Raw Womens Championship
Bayley (c) v Charlotte Flair

Roman Reigns v Braun Strowman

WWE Universal Championship
Kevin Owens (c) v Goldberg

Looks like a really good show, cant watch tonight (think you know why :grumpy:), looking forward to watching it tomorrow.

Samoa Joe vs. Sayn right now!

I don't know what is with me and wrestling now, but I legitimately yearn for the things I grew up with because what's there now is just... pitiful. Have I outgrown it? More and more it's becoming apparent that the only time I care is when someone from the "good days" comes back.

I wouldn't even necessarily call it nostalgia, at least not outright. Anyway...

Goldberg and Owens went as expected, and I have to laugh at the several dozen people who criticized the finish: have you seen a classic Goldberg match before? I'm not talking about his matches with DDP, Sting, Hall, or Nash. Hell, I'm not even talking about the matches he had during his first stint in WWE — a classic, tried and true Goldberg match is exactly what his matches with Lesnar and now Owens were: squashes.

Is he a tech wrestler? Of course not. Not everyone has to have, or even needs a mile-long movelist. He plays the part of a brute that destroys you with two moves, one of those looking legitimately painful. Now that there's nothing looming around about either man leaving the company after their match at Wrestlemania (which absolutely contributed to the match being as bad as it was) this time could be different.

I wouldn't say I'm excited, but it's certainly the only real match I care about at the moment. I love 'Taker, but I have zero interest in him going against Reigns... unless the latter were to actually turn heel. Do with him what you never wanted to with Hogan and Cena*. Please.

*Of course Cena was a heel at one point, so he's somewhat exempt.

Welp.... on second thought i think that was expected by everyone.

@RESHIRAM5

Looks like your worse fear has come true once more. A part timer winning the Universal Title.

I don't mind Goldberg holding the title until WM33. He could be a transitional champion but then again he will drop it to another part timer but then he could drop it to Samoa Joe to solidify his spot in Raw as the next big star of WWE.

Such a gut wrenching feeling. Imagine working so hard to get where you are yet the main spot light of your brand is 2 part timers who only do squash matches and promos.

If it wasn't for the title picture on Smackdown being interesting I don't think I would watch Wrestlemania THANK GOD we have 2 World Titles again.

THAT is my main problem with Raw right now next to Reigns being Superman. Hallelujah for Smackdown

RAW... sorry, Steph McMahon in a nutshell

Now in case people are wondering, I don't mind Goldberg winning the way he did, it's typical Goldberg fashion and I expect it. It's the fact that they are still relying on part timers to sell Raw right now and giving part timers titles is what I'm griping about especially since they don't do much to properly deserve it compared to the non-part timers.

"Deserve it" is meaningless in a situation where any one person can be scripted to win for any reason, during any time of the day. Work ethic, the number days you're on the road, how often you're in the ring, being a part-timer or full-timer literally mean nothing in this equation.

If there was anyone Vince thought would be a better fit to sell the main event of the admittedly awful-looking card for Wrestlemania, I'd like to think (I can't stress that enough: I'd like to think  ) he would have gone with it. Name any two full-time wrestlers on the roster that could bill a bigger match, in theory or otherwise, than Lesnar/Goldberg.

True but the title feels devalued when it's just given to someone who barely wrestles anymore.

but does this revenge match even need the title in the first place, they were already having the match it was meant to be Brock Lesnar heading for his redemption, the story is already there, the Universal Title doesn't need to be in there. Sort of like Rock vs. Cena II where the title played second filling to the story.

I'm not against the 2 having the match at all, I'm against putting the Universal title in their.

IMO, Kevin Owens vs. Chris Jericho would be better for the Universal title, there is no doubt it's going to be U.S Title rivalry now but I think it should've been for the Universal title, would be a fitting conclusion since their story together has littered on Raw programming like Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt. Jericho could've lost the U.S Title to spark the feud further.

I definitely get the appeal there. I wanted nothing more than for Lesnar to work more when he first got the title, but ultimately that all falls on Vince (and the lawyers) for setting up his contract the way it is. As for Goldberg, I remember reading that he wanted to work more when he got the title, but again, that ultimately falls on Vince. If he, for whatever reason thinks Goldberg can't make it through a more strenuous schedule thus jeopardizing the main event at WM, he won't do it.

I'm not making excuses for either scenario as I want to see them rip people's heads off as much as you do, but it isn't their call.

This one is the easiest of your points to answer: elevation. It turns a main event attraction into the main event.

Oh I know you're not, you even said as much. My point was... well, I'm jaded and care very little for what's there now.

See, where you said Goldberg/Lesnar II doesn't need the title I feel the same would apply here. Owens/Jericho have too much of a Shawn and Marty thing going for their feud and involving the title would just muddy the waters to me. I just want to see them beat each others face in.

I hated Kevin for all of 30 seconds after that turn, but I'll be damned if that wasn't very well done.

It didn't really help Cena vs. Rock II in any way. It depends on the buildup, so far this storyline is all about the revenge and nothing to do with the title, the title can't elevate if it isn't the main focus.

I disagree especially since for the most part Jericho was keeping Kevin Owens with the Universal Championship and Jericho wanting to take it away would be very fitting IMO.

Ohh (beep), wrong thread! Sorry... One for the bloopers :lol:

Either you post this on the wrong thread or I don't get it

What if all of these are just a plan for Samoa Joe's huge push? If Joe does win the Universal title, then he could feud with Sami Zayn, Balor, and possibly Nakamura.

Although I'm curious to know the new sideplates that will be installed to Goldberg's Universal tltle.

We still have to see if Nakamura goes to Smackdown or RAW, that would be after WM... But not denying your idea could happen since it's a hot NXT feud returning ;)

So does this mean Bailey is the female division's Brawn Strowman? She has a Superman Punch-proof face, apparently...

Also, I suspect the inspiration for that came from that one Connor McGregor video where he steals a vast amount of belts by beating people's face in. Minus the Superman Punching and Spearing, of course.
